That was a smart move putting a coat on . I would never have thought to do that . Guess thats why you're sailing and I sit and watch. You are a brave wind hippy ... stay safe keep up the smart sailing....
I've been watching some of the other you tube sailing folks loaded with money replacing stuff that could be fixed... it is GREAT to watch you sail on in bravery fixing stuff as you go and not deterred by anything! You are wonderful! Sail on!
I don't watch channels if they have money lol. I'm planning to buy a boat myself and I'm going to be poor, I'm not going to learn anything from rich people. My water maker is never going to break because I won't have one, I watch people who have the same problems and solutions I expect to have.
@@jodyssey9921 I find it hilarious watching the million dollar catamaran channels having "catastrophes at sea" while she's circumnavigating with the most basic of set ups and never loosing her cool.
I read Slocum's book, he said he heard children playing on deck during his travels. I also read Williams books about solo sailing to Hawaii, he said he heard voices on his passage. So I would say your in good company!
Wow - Sailing, kite surfing, snorkeling and playing in the South Pacific! You;ve dreampt the dream, worked for it, worked at it, shared it with us (from Ep1) - and you're now living the dream!!!! Well done, that girl! So pleased for you :)
WE all talk to our vehicles from time to time , especially when we depend upon it. I cuss my S-10 from time to time and I sweet talk the Harley ;) You Rock Girl !!!
That lone fisherman reminds me of the castaway, Jose Alvarenga, who was lost at sea on his fishing skiff for more than a year. I couldn't do it, I just don't think my body would hold up. It's amazing how humans seek the distant shores of the world, and now off of it!
I love how resourceful you are, knowledgeable and brave. Such a great channel, so refreshing compared to the big channels that flaunt bikini shots in thumbnails and want to constantly upgrade their boats
A very interesting update. I was on watch about 11pm -200 miles east of Equador on the way to the Galapagos when I hit a net. We were moving about 9 kts so we were lucky and skipped right over it, but when I hit the float line it shook and lit up a line of bioluminescence in both directions that looked like torpedoes. Freaked me out at first. Thanks for the adventure videos. Tim
G'day Crew ,, Ahoy Wind Hippie, seems the time spent diving , swimming ,& tending lines is keeping you well, you are looking healthy, happy and fit for the task at hand . Loved your neat little patch , the stich work was so even ,maybe you should grab some reeds or palm leaves n try your hand at a hat or basket . Oh ,, one thing i remember from Survival at Sea classes was that all silver fish with scales are safe to eat ,, but as you know ,, check for bacteria . Great to see your mega vessle gliding onward at 6 notts or more , you will soon be doing a second lap of the globe . Go go go,,,, you trim taught teriffic, tanned little champion Wind Hippie. ⛵ 🌍 Much Respect from Down Under
Love your attitude and courage. Suggest you get a bimini or some kind of shade for you cockpit. It will make a huge difference to your comfort not to mention your long-term health.
You are a rock star! You have the the trifecta...your young, in a small boat, and doing this by yourself! I am so jealous...I have had the privilege of traveling more than the average guy. But at your age, I never considered crossing an ocean. FYI - I am buying my first sailboat this week, in hopes of doing what your are doing in a few years. Keep living the dream!
I have a hanked on headsail also with 2 reefing points, im going to experiment with 2 blocks on the bow for 1st & 2nd reefing tack lines and a jib downhaul
Jib downhauls are great. Snug down tight holds it firmly down. My boat is a cutter, so 2 headsails (2 "jibs"). Hank-on. My lightweight downhaul lines, and halyards are all led to cockpit so its easy quick safe to raise and lower, all from safety of cockpit. Super easy and cheap to install.
Cracking video again 👍 when you look back on this in 20 years you will see how amazingly brave and capable you are, well done and keep up the good work ☀️🌞
Congratulations Girl! You are admirable for your skills as a sailor, and knowing how to manage. Repairing a sail with a needle and thread is a chore. I tried once. (translated by Google)
What a sailor I’ve seen you become, as an older guy u make me want to chuck it all and sail away. Not around the world maybe but the Caribbean for sure. Maybe next step is a boat? It’s just been so long since my last baby step into the world that I’m not sure of again! But u make me motivated so maybe.Have fun BE safe and buy a fake mustache and beard lol.
Love following you and sailing and oceans and life and you have all 4 so oh and I'm from Newcastle Maine and it seems Bremen puts out some adventurous women like you and Laurie Chandler who solo canoes the 700 mile river above Maine and 2 other states. That sentence long enough for you lol? Good luck with future sailing and I'll follow too.
you're looking really good - hoping to make it out to the Pacific from San Francisco this coming summer - Will be a maiden voyage our of SF on my Westsail 32 - good seeing you
Great channel its just taken me over 3 weeks to binge watch every episode in my spare time to get up to date. Your channel was recommended on one of the sailing groups on Facebook. I've also started following you on Instagram 👍👍👍👍
Awesome, absolutely love everything about you and your channel, inspirational sincere fun PS I'm seriously contemplating a solo Atlantic crossing on a 31' (transom hung skeg rudder included) 40 year old Nebe Miura, so this is very close to home for me and my plans
Greetings from an old salt of the sea I love what you are doing it inspires me to make every day count. Question did you get a tattoo when you made it to French Polynesia for crossing the equator? I'm looking forward to next week's equator crossing party 🥳🎉. May you have the Sun at your back and a fresh breeze to fill your sails. Much peace and love from northeast Texas.
I am still pondering whether or not I agree with your statement that, "...sewing parties are always fun..." B/c are they really always fun? Hmmm... Thanks for video, and thanks to Tish for providing the ground control for Major Tom. ( Holly = Major Tom )
The long hair is hot! Luck is the residue of design. You are the female Bernard Moitessier. It would not surprise me if you kept going for a second circumnavigation. Cape Horn, here we come!
Hi u brave sailor. I been wondering to do sail pacific on my catalina 34 86 model. And I seen your vids for years. But few days ago I actually checked numbers for your boat, and turns out our boat comfort and capsize nr are kind of same,so I think I am doing it.hopefully I leave next spring.,can I ask for your thoughts on c34 to do this.i am Terrified and very excited
Another great video! It's been neat seeing how your thought processes have been getting more seaworthy each episode. Maybe you can weave yourself a beard as part of your disguise!
A habit love. That funny I stand 3'10"". So u have a habit watching. & sending habit love & bleeding our way. I've been watch u sentence u left Panama. I like our still.
And again my wife knows you as the girl by herself. I am glad that you avoided that net also. Would have been bad to dive on it and find out what was eating his catch while trying to get free. I know that one first hand, as a long line fisherman back in the day. The captain backed down on our long line. No one could hold their breath long enough to cut it off the prop. After 2 minutes of me being under water they all panicked. I came up for a breath and went back down. That's when I had a real scare. But you will have to watch my channel for the rest of the story.
Do I need to log in to patrion or something to get content every week or do you post on UA-cam? I’m old and don’t know how these things work 😂 glad your avoiding the fishing nets and staying safe 👍⛵️
I guess the person that thumbs down this video thinks they're being cute .... you need to go troll somewhere else, on all the positive notes.... you are way cool ! ! !
When you covered up like that it really brought home the extra safety precautions women have to go through. It's ashamed that you even have to do this.
Appreciate no commercials!!! Give this girl a thumbs up and comment for that!
That was a smart move putting a coat on . I would never have thought to do that . Guess thats why you're sailing and I sit and watch. You are a brave wind hippy ... stay safe keep up the smart sailing....
Good that the engine was not running. How about a knife blade on skeg? Line cutter on prop?

Where ever you were during the intro seems to agree with you because you look rejuvenated.

Sorry. I guess that should be "west" of equador.

Love the story about the fisherman! I bet he'll be dining out on that one for weeks haha

Are you going to call your sail “ WILSON “ ? Lol.
