Hey guys! In November of last year, we got to visit Vitamix headquarters outside of Cleveland, Ohio. There, we got a first-look at the new 8-ounce containers!
These 8-ounce containers have Smart-Detect technology. This means a couple things.
1. These containers are only compatible on Ascent Series machines.
2. The Ascent Series' blender base senses that it is an 8-ounce container.
3. These containers (and blades) will shut off if they're bumped or dislodged from the motor base.
We hear feedback from many Vitamix owners. An overwhelming majority of it is positive.
But when we hear criticism of the Vitamix machine, it's about challenges with making very small batches.
These 8-ounce containers are the answer to that concern.
We are very excited about these containers.
Baby food, dressing, spice grinds, flours, and more. We cannot wait to use this great add-on with our full size Vitamix machine.
Thank you for watching.

This was a very good review. Convinced me to get the 8oz bowl!
I would love to see you guys make a video of a variety of recipes for this little bowl as I just purchased mine and there are hardly any recipes online specifically for this tiny pot :)
good feedback, thank you emily
I would like to see as well... Sometimes the standard size is too big for just me.. :(
Ditto for recipes - especially would appreciate instructions for chopping onions in the 8 oz. I tried pulsing at 6 but that didn't work. Pulsing at 1 was better but still disappointing.
Why Chef Adam just screwed the cup and the base without any concerns about the arrows lining up? He Never addressed the lining up of the “arrows”? Just curious.
I had already watched your awesome “come to the rescue” video (did a lot of research and reading before making the final decision to purchase my Ascent 3500. Love it… ) I had the issue of the arrows the second time I used my the 20 oz container. You guys saved the day and Vitamix reputation in this household). Great work …
This would be very useful for me. Is this compatible with the older VITAMIX VM0109 ?
My spouse recently had major accident and broke jaw. This is perfect as food can be consumed through a straw.
Gotta 💙 Shalva's energy! She's a natural in front of the camera whenever she's on! 👍😎

Thank you! So excited to have you follow along on our plant-based Vitamix adventures :)
Shalva Geffen So excited to be following along! You guys are awesome! 💙👍😎
I need this to make creamy small-portions of sauces etc
Hey you were in our test kitchen! That's cool I work at that facility
We love visiting the Vitamix test kitchen! Come say hi next time we're there! :)
can i buy thi container for vitamix s30?
This is totally cool!!! I wish I had waited to buy my vitamix now because I could have purchased this much cooler model!!!
They have a trade-in program you might want to look into if you're truly tempted to upgrade :)
Which Vitamix do you have
I so want this ! I will get rid of old blender and Coffey grinder!
Two old appliances, one new one! :)
Can these be used on a Pro 750 ?
A popular topic given the the formula shortage.
Please make an 8 oz container that is compatible with the small personal Vitamix series. I NEED this!
We're crossing our fingers for this too :)
Hello, should the white "Do not microwave" warning labels be removed on these 8 oz bowls before 1st usage and washing? I see these have them removed, is this advisable? Thank you in advance for your response...best regards...Jorge R.
Yeah, feel free to remove :)
What container do you use for grains, e.g. making flours from hard grains? grinding seeds e.g. flax seeds?
we don't always grind grain flours. but when we do, we use the dry grains container ;)
I wish they would make these for the 780 model too!
Yeah, they have the 20-ounce adapter for the 780 which is not as cute, but is pretty close in functionality 🌀
bit.ly/2wt4YKr
I saw from a previous question that you can’t use the 8-ounce containers for nut butters but how about making small batches of Tahini? Thanks! -Dave
very well maybe, have never tried. depends on if you're using other ingredients that are liquid
I just have my shipped today. Doesn't have manual?
The 8-ounce containers should have an owners manual. Email me if you have any questions. :)
The containers are not recognized by the Ascent 3500. I dont know how yours work. I have had 4 sets sent to me, plus an Ascent 3500 replacement, and the base is not recognized.
The still Vegan cut is hilarious. LoL.
Great video - and the 8oz cups are no doubt great for small batches - this addresses my concern with the big standard container.
But do you need to buy an extra blade - or can you reuse the standard blade on the machine?
I am planning to buy the a3500!
Brian...I just purchased the a3500 and am in love! Picked up the 48 oz. pitcher and the cup and bowl starter set as well to allow me greater flexibility. The blade alone is around $75 dollars on the Vitamix website, so it's actually more economical to buy the set. The blade on the standard Vitamix pitchers is NOT detachable! So, to use these 8 & 20 oz. blender cups you will need the separate blade.
are the blending bowls compaitble with 7500 model..?
unfortunately, they're not. you need an Ascent Series to use the 8-ounce bowls lifeisnoyoke.com/8-ounce-vitamix-containers/
What container should i use with my A2300 blender to male nut butter? Note: i make a small amount the usual container is so big
48 oz!
Have you tried to combine them with the personal adapter blade base for the legacy series?
Great question. My guess is that they are not compatible for safety reasons, but I will try.
Thank you!
They fit. :) Although, Vitamix PR will say they don't for your safety and their legal reasons. Doing so requires you to reach beyond the bucket thingy which defeats the purpose. So if you do it, know you're taking a risk from a your fingers and ability to make claims on their warranties perspective.
Will this work on a classic or legacy series?
no, you'll need an Ascent Series to use the 8-oz containers lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-containers
The containers are challenging to properly place on to the base I'm
Can this be used with the 750 pro vitamix? With or without an adapter cup?
No.
Awesome video!
I just purchased the 8oz containers. Thanks so much for the coupon code!
Our pleasure! Let us know what you blend first :)
My small container won’t open. Please help
So if I get theses 8oz containers does it reduce the need for the immersion blender?
Depends on what you're making
8oz container on e320?
Can this be use in any Vitamix?
Looks like only the new "Ascent". Wish they made little ones for my older model.
Is blade base for 20oz and 8oz container same?
Yes
Can the 8oz work on e32o and what's the cast thanks for your reply
They do not, unfortunately.
Does the 8 oz base also fit the 20 oz cups?
yes it does. :)
@@LINY thank you!
Hi..so will 8 oz cups fit the 2500i?
Yup 👍
How well does it fair making nut butter without presoaking?
hi, no need to presoak to make nut butter :)
Lifeisnoyoke could u pls take a moment to say how u do this ahd the amounts in the ml and cup/teaspoon etc metric system Pls ever so kindly? In this tiny container :)
Can
I use 80z on my 5200 series vita mix.?
Coupon?
If only if only they would bring this machine out in Holland. And it is expensive as hell over here too. People are complaining about the price in the U.S 🤣
Its a great blender. I got the Vitamix 5300.
I was about to buy these containers for my legacy containers, but realized it won't work from this video. Thanks.
Can these containers be used for nut butters?
yup
AC how do u go about making nut butter ie ingredients in this ie mls teaspoon and cup metric system in mind? And method? 🙏🏼
I'm thinking of using one for grinding ☕
thank you so much!!
Hey guys. We're curious: What can you see these little containers being useful for? Leave a comment below. Thanks! :)
Life is NOYOKE Small batches of nutbutter, salsas, dressings, and personal sized juices/smoothies! 😊
Single serving of hummus
eatingwithselina how do u go about making hummus in this small container? ie ingredients in this ie mls teaspoon and cup metric system in mind? And method? 🙏🏼
drnycmedia how do u go about making nut butter in this small container ? ie ingredients in this ie mls teaspoon and cup metric system in mind? And method? 🙏🏼
small batches of pesto
Hi, this is compatible with e320 ? Thank you
No, sorry
you'll need a personal cup adapter lifeisnoyoke.com/out/vitamix/personal-cup-adapter/
Can you use on vitamix e320
no, but you can use the personal cup adapter :)
This is not a new concept but I am sure that it will be better with the powerful a3500
i am thinking to buy the 225 ml..can I use it to make a small amount of cashew butter?
Yes you can
Lifeisnoyoke how pls??
@@LINY how? I thought you need a tamper.
Would this work on vitamix 7500 ?
It does not. You’ll need an Ascent series
@@LINY I see. Figured since the bases of the blenders seem the same and can fit many of the containers they sell (like the 64oz 480z sizes) seem to fit on all their full sized blenders. So thought this would too.
@@jakec5618 m
Just want to confirm...can you make nut butters in them? Thanks, Shalva!
Hi SuAn, you cannot make nut butters in these 8-ounce containers. Why? You generally need to use the tamper to gently push the ingredients into the blades and with these 8-ounce containers, everything is contained. Nowhere to put a tamper. If you're interested in a small container that can also make nut butters, check out the 32 ounce wet container: lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-containers/
Thank you!
I am struggling with my 8oz and 20 oz container somehow its not able to detect
Hi! Try tightening it a bit more. Worst case, call Vitamix Customer Service 1-800-848-2649
Would be great if they made 12 and 16oz cups too
You could just use the 20-ounce cups (also coming soon) and make a little less than capacity. :)
@@LINY could you ask Vitamix when UK buyers will have everything else available
I died laughing every single time he mentioned meat. Your face was classic. 😂
Fantastic overview though.
fanks!
I've been lacto-ovo for the past 32 years but have no problem with others' eating meat (which I'm unable to digest).
So livid that they don't make these for the old classic bases 🤯😡
Can you use the 20oz to go cup on the 8oz base, so I would not have to purchase both sets. Thanks
The base from the 8 oz starter kit (two cups, one blade base) will work with the 20 oz cups with "Self Detect" technology [the one that come as a set (two 20oz cups, one blade base)] . As of today, the 20 oz containers sold separately, these that you might be referring to, bit.ly/2uVGIzx , are only compatible with the S-Series Personal Blenders. Soon, they'll have 20 oz containers (that have Self Detect technology) sold individually (without the blade base) that are compatible with the Ascent's blender base.
So yeah, you do not need to purchase both sets. Grab one, wait for the "accessory packs" (two cups, no blade base) to become available (so you're not buying the blade base twice).
Does this fit the Professional 300 ?
Unfortunately, no. The personal cup adapter is compatible with the pro 300 bit.ly/2wt4YKr
Will it fit the 750 series?
These 8-ounce containers only fit Ascent machines. For personal blending on your Pro 750, check out the Personal Cup Adapters: lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-personal-cup-adapters/
You got the 750 blender. Thats Vitamix's best blender. Its got all the presets.
I have the Vitamix 5300. Its a great blender but doesn't have the presets like soup, ice cream etc.
Dan Livni I disagree I thin their best blender is 2500 it does everything the 750 does but at a cheaper price
If the small containers worked with my current Vitamix, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. But, I'm not paying that much for another blender! I think I'll just give away my Vitamix and get a tiny blender.
i get it
Look on offer up. I got the 3500 for 200 bucks brand new.
Same, it’s annoying
Haha you forgot the "we're still vegan" on the honey part. I really like how you pay attention to all the details as well. Great review!
Whats up with the Bluetooth Connection? Is bluetooth Always on? Can it turned off ? On one side the ascend series is nice and i would buy it but if the bluetooth is always on it would harm my health. Right?
Will the 8 oz bowls work with the pro 750??
Hi, unfortunately, the 8 oz bowls are exclusive to the Ascent Series. If you want personal size blending on a Pro 750, you'll need the personal cup adaptor: lifeisnoyoke.com/out/vitamix/personal-cup-adapter
Costco has a Bluetooth capable Vitamix they are selling. Looks nothing like the ones on the Vitamix website. What gives?
Those genuine Vitamix machines, but what we refer to as "Frankenstein" models: lifeisnoyoke.com/which-vitamix-to-buy/#costco-models
costco machine is made especially for them. It is different. I returned my bluetooth costco and moved up to the accent 3500? (top of the line) It was $100 more but did not come with the starter kit either which is worth another $100.
Overkill sales talk. Folks are not as needy as you may think. No need to baby feed the features to us. We get it.
Good feedback, we appreciate it
Not everyone is as smart as us woman chill
So awesome that u guys are vegan!!
at home, 100%. outside of the house, we enjoy without judgement
@@LINY I feel you pain! I'm the same way.
I just got my new Viramax today! The woman over exaggerating is making me hate vitamax, I honestly might return it by the weekend! Which container did she exactly returned that she said does not fit in her cabinet, which brand, i feel she made it up to play her part ! Stop it pls, vitamax is great , but…
PLEASE.. make a 32oz for this new model, so we can make single serve ice cream and not have to clean a Great Big awkward Jug after every 20-24 oz smoothie.,
a 48 oz has the same minimum batch size as a 32 so you could consider getting that? lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-containers/#48-vs-32
I enjoy the series, but.......you need to double the volume. It is just barely listenable.
Total nonsense that Vitamix only released this for the new Ascent line after I spent hundreds on a Vitamix. Will have to look for an alternative in the future to Vitamix.
thank you
I ate eight bananas once with whole milk. Half hour later I farted long and loud. It angered my wife, but she still laughed. This was over 30 years ago.
Sounds like a healthy relationship!
I don't see how this is that much of a game changer for baby food... it isn't recomended that you have baby food in fridge for over 24 hours. I don't think they are making a really good point for convenience. means i have to make baby food every day... multiple times a day for different meals...
We make batches and then freeze into cubes using an ice cube tray. lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-baby-food/
every time you started naming your ingredients she interrupted and you stopped so we couldn't hear.
I hope you didn’t take offense when he mentioned meat. I’m sure none was meant. That look. He probably still loves you even though you’re vegan and doesn’t get offended when you don’t mention meat.
I want to see a baby and a senior with no teeth or who can’t digest well and a teen with new braces who can’t chew eating the puréed food.
How dare you
Meh, they aren't $100 amazing.
We feel ya. The nice thing is you just have to invest in the blender base once. From there, you can add cups pretty easily.
Well that's true. Still they are very proud of those things.
Life is NOYOKE please do tell us where you can buy just the 8oz or 20oz on its own?
Guess I can answer this myself lol. They are now available. Canadian funds $35 for 2 - 8oz or $35 for 1 - 20oz
case o beer and big pizza aint that amazing either but still about 100 bucks, 100 bucks aint that much anymore
I wish the girl wouldn’t keep rambling on. Let’s just watch the machine work and check out the recipes. Let the guy explain what he’s doing. She thinks she needs to fill all the air time. Hard to watch for me.
Thanks for the view
Totally agree. She really distracts with her rambling and her hand movements. Would have been better without her.
