this is our anthem for Brazil carnival 2024. Another hype song like “hands up” or “jump high like a Maasai” to bring energy to an already energetic crowd. But listen to the message carefully, it’s not just a good workout song, it’s the words of Jesus. It’s what he told his disciples to do when they went to preach the gospel from town to town. What did he mean by shaking the dust off? I believe he meant that we should not carry the negativity with us. I believe that he meant that we should leave rejection behind and not allow it to keep us from moving forward. In light of this, Jesus also said to turn the other cheek, to go the extra mile, to pray for those who persecute you and bless those who curse you. That’s what this song is about.

I understand that you may not like the music, but maybe you should reread the lyrics again given your statement. It promotes loving those who hate you. It’s the exact words of Jesus.

@@christafariband Wow, I came across this video after watching Iris's testimony on Delafe and saw Marks testimony on there a couple weeks ago. My dad got me the CD for Valley of Decision when it came out many years ago and it was my favorite record for years and I bumped it in my boombox for all my friends. That testimony brought me back and although I still think Valley is the best I love all the stuff in between also.
I literally just read through Luke this morning where Jesus sent the disciples out and as soon as this song started playing it blew my mind. And then the first comment I see is this negative one. I don't see anything negative about a confirmation from the Lord to get out, shake the dust off your feet, and spread the news of the kingdom!
