Thank you for turning the comments back on!! The second I got this alert I teared up! I am so, so! happy to see all of you. I know some of you have had some health struggles, and just like Jamie asked Joan(ie) to pray for him every day; know that I have kept you all in my prayers. I appreciate all of you SO MUCH and wish you all a very relaxing and Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for the unexpected surprise!!! I was sad to think this last hurrah with Outlander would be w/o your wise counsel....
Aw, thank you Kjam, for watching and for the prayers 🙏🏼. And for the very kind words. I'm so happy that our discussions are meaningful to you. I didn't intend to turn the comments off! Sorry about that, fixed it when I noticed. xo
I don’t have any friends who watch this and I just feel like I am siting across the table with you when you do these discussions. I find myself yelling YES! Me Too! Or shaking my head in agreement on so many points. Thank you for the time you invest for the benefit of the rest of us! And Carmen’s assessment of the significance of the title was PERFECT!!
Me too Amanda .It's so good to hear the different observations , and opinions of these ladies . I think I saw your name in a comment on Instagram . That's the only other place I see other insights . I'm not on Facebook . Hope to see you again .
I’m so glad to see you back. Please stay with us until the end. I’m sure you all will have so much to offer us. Thank you so much for your time and sharing your insights.
Welcome back! You were missed! I so appreciate all of you ladies and hearing your insightful discussions about each episode. Thank you for taking the time and putting so much effort into these!
Lovely to see and hear you again, ladies! Have to disagree with Antoinette though. Just like in the books, we needed Jamie to close his situation with Laoghaire. A resolution was needed. And it was great to see both Laoghaire and Joanie again. Also, the moment with (2) golden balls had such great innuendo, especially if you remember what Ned said to Jamie in s3 ep 8 😅.
Ooh! Thanks for the reminder of what Ned said. I'd forgotten that nugget. I caught the innuendo as well. And as an avid books reader I know a good deal about Leghair's greed that the show overlooks. On the BTS blog I made a comment about finding "the king of men's gold balls" hilarious. Both intimidation and supplication. Jamie dressed to the nines, imperious behind the Laird's desk, and then dropping the enticement of the gold into her hand. Frankly, she's got Jamie's nuts in a cracker until she signs that amendment. A very sleekit bit of Mackenzie DNA coming out in how smoothly he delivers that transaction--all the while making it seem that he is doing her the greatest honour and awaiting her consent. Starz hasn't given us that Jamie to the same degree that the books do. Game. Set. Match. Brilliant!
Missed the heck out you guys…I’m a non book reader and your discussions are an invaluable source of information for me. In these stressful times, you’re a much -needed safe haven.
Oh my gosh !! You are back !!! I have been missing you ladies SOOOOO MUCH!! I’ve been looking for your videos for the past year or more ! So happy to see and hear you all . I have to say , unfortunately I was not thrilled with this episode . The acting and depth of the writing just doesn’t hold up compared to the earlier season especially. Hopefully things ramp up as the season progresses .
Hi Christine! I didn't watch the first half of S7 before doing this, maybe I'll go back and see. Did you watch it more than once? Gets better with more viewing imo!
Thanks for this very informative recap. My first time watching. I went on the trip to Scotland last year and remember meeting Audrey. Glad to see you looking well Courtney. Happy Thanksgiving..
Happy Thanksgiving Jeanette 😊. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Did you hear at the end of our video that there is another BTS Scotland trip in discussions? Also, if you want to watch more discussions, go here: outlanderbts.com/episode-discussions/
I Agree with Audrey, there I’d too much of Loaghaire in this series, the writers are wrong to have spent on her. Jamie in the book doesn’t see her again after he went to apologise. He goes back to Lallybroch, goes to Claire who sitting at the desk in the study, he asks “Did you ever thing I didn’t need you”. To which she does respond that he had needed her from the first she saw him. He then kisses her and leaves the room happily tunelessly whistling, young Ian enters the study and say “Auntie is uncle Jamie drunk? To which she replies no. As for Joan he and Claire meet her outside the cave he lived in for 7 years, she in not rude to Claire but talks to him about wanting to be a nun and her mother being oppressed it and trying to get her to wed someone she doesn’t wish to, and how things are at Balringin. Jamie tells her that she has his blessings but there’s nothing he can do regarding her mother as there is no way she would listen to him. They hug, and she departs. It is Claire who sorts the problem out later when Loaghaire comes to her with the letter from Marsali re. Henri Christian. Claire afterwards tells Jaime that she sorted everything out, and tells him what has been agreed.
My favorite crack-up line in this ep was straight from the book, Laoghaire’s insult to Jamie that’s approximately something to the effect of his being “fardeled up like an English popinjay” flaunting his wealth with his ancient whore “foamin’ on [his] arm”! How can you top that one?🤣
Yes!!!! How did none of us pick that one?? I think maybe because we were going the sentimental route and I didn't quite get all of what she said. Excellent line for "Leary" - is that directly from the book or do we have Barbara S to thank for that?
@@outlanderbts532 The book does it best, while the series just excerpts from her book lines. Madame Leg-hair really does have some amusing exclamations in both book and series!
You’re wrong the book does the exchange better better, it explains why her father wanted her punished. You’re right he there should not have been any made up scenes with Loaghaire. I personally believe that he needed to see her due to a confession he made much earlier, during his time at Helswater etc, The Scottish Prisoner ( a Lord John book, has Jamie and John in Ireland in that book). A lot of that book is narrated by Jamie, the abbot he confess to, first tells him he should marry, but then straight afterwards, after looking at Jamie thoughtfully, changes his advice and tells him that he shouldn’t marry at all, as his wife is still his heart and as long as she’s there it would be wrong for him to wed as it would be unfair to woman as his heart wouldn’t be in it.

Thanks so much for your discussions, as always. Meaningful to me most especially since my own husband passed away in Dec 2023. (Together 42 years).
I'm so sorry for your loss, Joyce 💔
So happy you’re back!!
The little boy at the gravestone is definitely Jemmy.

@ yes. I am interested!!!
The old peg leg also had a handle
Did it? I do remember him leaning heavily to one side, was it the very same one? Thanks Veronika
@@outlanderbts532 it looks like the same one or at least of the same design
I remember gettingTB that test becoming a MA. This is required for all medical personnel. You have to get it every few years.
Interesting. And, I'll just say, ref your @ - I saw Journey this past summer, and it was not the same without your namesake!!
