India is the birth of human civilization, it is an eternal time capsule that contains the entire spectrum of human existence.
Just can't wait for next September, when I'll be there studying to be a yoga teacher! So excited, only 10 months to go!! Great video as always Gabriel, thank you for sharing your trips with us all, I do love to see them 💕
Elizabeth Scattergood Amazing, I will learn Yoga from you.
That's great Elizabeth, sure you will enjoy it.
so how was you experience, its been an year, have you learnt the yoga
I too ate at that chotivala thali and I stayed at the ashram where aarti is going on. Unfortunately the Shiva statue which was there previously drowned due to heavy flood in uttarakhand. Rishikesh was a Beautiful experience.
Rishikesh is the same place where Mr.Mark zuckerberg and Mr.Steve Jobs came when things were not going right with them.
nakul garg they took a bath.
No, it was Kainchi Dham in Nainital
Happy to hear that. in Devine time Indian identity will be back with right people running things there. In other words, Indians, who are Hindus or Pakistanis, who have Greek or English, or Maori roots in terms of spirituality, is the right people for perfect India. There is no need for border than.:). All the spiritual gods are awaken in both India, and Pakistan now. They will guide all the spiritual people living in India, and Pakistan on how to make India, and Pakistan one. In future, Pakistan will be just a city in India.

got goosebumps at the arti time..
4:47 Some people have confusion that old guy is chaating "3 Ram" .That sitting old guy is chanting "Shri Ram" not "Three Ram" . These people have left their home and settled in Rishikesh for devotion of God. Note that some might be just beggars/poor people but generally if he has been there for a long then he is a devotee of Ram (Avatar of Vishnu). Shri is a mark of respect before a avatar God, a Rishi (hermit), or generally a man deserving social respect( not equivalent to Mr as Mr can be used for a thief also :)) . As per the Ramayana Lord Ram made hard penance for killing mighty demon Ravana. Lakshmana (Brother of Lord Rama) crossed the river by Jute Bridge which is known as Lakshman Jhula. The Jute Bridge was replaced by Iron suspension bridge in 1889. The bridge damaged in 1924 flood, than bridge was replaced by new bridge. Source svyogaschool.com/yoga-in-rishikesh-india.html Interestingly Ramayana and Mahabharata are epic tales but one depicts idealistic and other as practical meaning of life. While Lord Ram is known for idealistic life ,Lord Krishna is known for practical . The Mahābhārata is the longest epic poem known and has been described as "the longest poem ever written".Its longest version consists of over 100,000 śloka or over 200,000 individual verse lines (each shloka is a couplet), and long prose passages. At about 1.8 million words in total, the Mahābhārata is roughly ten times the length of the Iliad and the Odyssey combined, or about four times the length of the Rāmāyaṇa. Most Hindu homes will have the epic Ramayana (idealistic epic) but rarely have Mahabharata (as is is epic of war, human nature - if you read it , you will find all characters in it having unique behavior-no one is ideal and story revolves around Lord Krishna ) . However, people do keep Gita -which is a small portion Of Mahabharata but meaningful discourse between Krishna and Arjun and several books have been written on its deep meaning . But these epic tales are popular among masses as common people can correlate with it. Vedic scriptures are abstract and hard to grasp .They try to answer question like who am i and whats is life? in very complex abstract way. Only people seeking enlightenment read Vedic scriptures in deep.
Good info, thanks.
Being a hindu I hv great reverence for the holy scriptures. Thank u for elaborating the epics in a simple and profound way.
Gabe, the small ceremony you passed might have been better than the production number by the water, interesting the one you passed they were chanting Rama and Krishna, the other one to Shiva with strange dance performance, thank you for taken us around the World!

I do totally want to do the Utterakhand trip you did. Was it New Delhi to Haridwar to Rishikesh to Utterakhasi to Ganghnani back to Utterakhasi and then to Mashuri?
Yes, exactly. Except the last one is spelled Mussoorie.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos ah! cool, and could it be done say within three weeks. Also say you wanted to do Gaghutri too would it be like super expensive you reckon ?
@@marioskublan7273 Gaghutri? You mean Gangotri glacier and the temple up there? No it wouldn't be expensive. But remember it's closed in winter so you would need to check when it's open before going.
Lord Shiva🔱
Lot's of love from India ❤
can u tell me the exact place where this grand aarti happened..planning to visit next year..
Yes, it happens in front of the Parmarth Niketan ashram downstream from the Ram Jhula bridge.

It‘s as if that candle stopped just for your picture ❤️🙏🏽
Nothing quite like rishikesh.
One of the divine parts of India.
❤️❤️❤️
Wow
2007rina hi rina
Sir cover neelkanth also
From 11:08 to 11:33 what were you trying to show exactly, there was no leaf candles etc.
The Alaska woolen must be worm and in evening monkeys go back home.
I was showing the river up close, giving people a sense of the water flowing. It's the Ganges so a pretty legendary river. Thought it would give it a little more sense of being something real to see the water flowing past, especially with the ambiance of the music in the background.
Gabriel Traveler That's Great!
Thn q 4 comng in India...as Gabriel u came 7th time here..so definately u like r country...stay coming in future also...and at last thank u 4 showing entire world to us free of cost..thnk u....i hope u also reply me 4 thanking me

I like your videos. They explore the way I do. Do you know what the man is saying ''sri ram?" or something different? If I go there soon (maybe in 2 years from now) I'll see if he will engage in a conversation, maybe accept a meal somewhere, or I might bring some food for us to share and just be there in silence with that man. It seems that he may be doing Sadhana. Imagine the amount of focus it takes to do that every day.
Thanks for sharing this. I wish this man on the wall all the best.
This video also ends abruptly suddenly without any concluding note.
Any plans for visiting Nainital?
I visited there on my first trip to India, nice place.
what is the current weather condition and temperature?
Pleasantly warm during the day, chilly in the evening. I need more clothes.
Nice Alaska gear beanie hat! Did you see any Snake Charmers?
Thanks Jen. I got the beanie in Denali Park when I was working there a couple months ago. No snake charmers on this trip, but I've seen them before.
I assume this camera has no Zoom feature.
Correct. It's one reason I want to get another camera for certain situations, even though I like the GoPro a lot.
Cannon g7x mark 2👍👍👍
Hello.. my name is mohammad.. I also have a new channel about travel.
can you please tell me which camera are using for make videos.
All of my recent videos are filmed with a GoPro Hero5. I use different cameras in some videos. You can always look below the video and the camera used is listed in the description.
firstly thanks for your reply...
thanks for your valuable information.
If you are still at rishikesh let know
India is the birth of human civilization, it is an eternal time capsule that contains the entire spectrum of human existence.
what about gabriel kundalini
dband Hey are you talking about evoking kundlani Shakti (power).
dband This is a part of Yoga and to create kundalni lot of practice is needed
I need to get my ass over there asap, cause I wanna meet that guy who's been there for decades. They should dress him up as Shiva and get him to sit on that platform, for a fee of course, so if the river floods over again, he can move to safety, all by hisself.....I know, I get these brilliant ideas, sorta randomly .....:-)
Space Hobo
LOL! Awesome idea.
GABE I just saw my old Hare Krishna friend Arcana pronounced Archana dancing with the other girls in front of Guruji. She's the African descendant and she's from Colombia 🇨🇴 in South America. I was once a Hare Krishna (Vaishnava) and my spiritual name is Shyam Gopal Das as I was initiated by a guru who was a disciple of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada more famously known as Srila Prabhupada who was an Indian Sannyasi who started ISKCON in New York City in the mid 60s. And there it is. The cat's out of the bag 🤣. Seriously I was a Hare Krishna but now I have no affiliations to any religion nor spiritual group nor anything. Just oneness. One with all. Stay Happy-go-lucky buddy.
What does 3 Rum mean with the old guy?
Michelle Whitley He is chanting Ram Ram Ram is our God .
Sri Ram. Sri is a term of respect. Ram is an ancient figure in Hinduism, an incarnation of Vishnu.
Lord Ram is the Hero in Epic Ramayana. When Ram came back from 14 years of Exile people welcomed him with litting candles and since them we celebrate Dewali.
Gabriel, as I am repeating myself probably but I must say, your knowledge about India is really fantabulous & in-depth. :) Glad you have a good trip here in India.
Thanks. Sometimes in comments I'm consulting google first, so it isn't always off the top of my head. I didn't remember who Ram was, so I checked and learned something.
Why that statue like man is sitting in front of that restaurant?
Too fffn ,Dark, goddam it !!!
What's ur job mate ... like profession
Here's a video that explains: ua-cam.com/video/D5joCrtdLWs/v-deo.html

Lassie come home.
5:00 18 years?!
Yes, my first trip to India was in 1999. This is my 8th trip to India since then.
I remember the "Sri Ram" man from my stay in Rishikesh in December of 1999! I always sat with him a while and gave a little donation.
Ganga Not Ganges
Hard for me to believe the river is very clean there either, but I'll take your word for it 😏
"Very" might be debatable. Certainly cleaner. You definitely don't want to swallow a mouthful.
You also might be risking yourself while walking the covered walkway with speeding motor cycles & wild cows around.
Rishikesh has cleanest Ganga out of all popular tourist spots on banks of Ganga river.
Ah, the power that MYTH holds over this civilization.
Sir, your videos are cool. I have recently subscribed to your channel. One thing I would like to mention is that in Hinduism ( which is like an umbrella of different Dharmic schools of thought) we do not consider anything like 'Monkey God' or something like that. Sri Hanuman is worshipped as the greatest devotee of Sri Rama (considered as an incarnation of God). In Hinduism, great devotees are worshipable like God. Any great soul is worshipable. Anything that helps us to survive or enrich us is worshipable (trees, mountains, river etc). Why? because those things are considered as the manifestation of God/Divinity. A true devotee unites with God and becomes God-like divine. Sri Hanuman opened his heart to show us that Sri Rama and Ma Sita lived there in his heart. So we worship him like god/divine but not as a monkey God. Hope you will understand as you have some basic understanding what I believe.
Great, thanks a lot for the info sir. Have a nice day, namaste.
Namaskar (in Bengali). you may visit West Bengal (Kokata, Darjeeling, Shantiniketan, Purulia etc) and Sikkim too.
Ganga is the sanskrit name not Hindi name.
the impermanent nature of universal existence is based on the cycle of three major forces: creation, maintenance and destruction. Shiva is the symbolic representation of destruction force in human form. not trying to be a smart ass or anything. just for the sake of better understanding.
Yes, the Trimurti.
yes, the colloquial term for more general understanding of it in human forms. Rishikesh seems to have lost it's original spiritual vibe, hasn't it Gab ? so overpowered by commercialization
