I think the backpack will work pretty good now, we'll see long-term. The next video will show more of the camel fair. There weren't as many camels as I expected, because the fair was almost over so most of them had already left and returned to their villages.

Gabriel Traveler That’s an amazing video, this place Pushkar is very close to my heart (for many reasons) it’s a holy place and in traditional sense a happening place specially for tourists. There is a Sikh Temple over there which is so damn beautiful. Being a Sikh myself I am proud of the fact that a holy place of our faith lies in the very heart of Hinduism.

Hey gabe, a piece of advice. If your backpack or your shoe gets damaged in india, Go to a local cobbler (mochi, as called in hindi). They are on every nook and corner and charge just 40-50 rupees to fix and reinforce the bag or shoe. There are bag repair shops as well and they are pretty cheap. If you want good a quality rucksack then go for wildcraft, it is the best bag making company in india and you can order it from amazon or you can visit a local store.
If necessary I would do that but sewing straps is pretty basic. That thread is super strong and will do great. Easier than taking it down to a shop, trying to explain, waiting or else coming back later, etc. That one was a simple fix.

I've met lots of women traveling solo around India. Nowhere in the world is completely safe but chances are you will be perfectly fine. It really depends on how confident you feel about it. What other places have you traveled? I don't recommend India as a first country to travel to.
Gabriel Traveler I have traveled to the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. India has always facinated me. But have also heard so many negative stories, like „You can‘t walk freely in India, only sightseeing in a Taxi is possible.“ It kinda sounds like bullshit and i am determined to see otherwise.

hi Gabriel. nice video, I always like your videos. I want to know flight expenses because it is tourist season it's little bit expensive I think.
You'll have to check online, try skyscanner, expedia, google flights, kayak, onetravel, etc. Flights constantly change and it depends on where you want to fly from and to, so you'll have to do some research to find out the latest prices.
That backpack, man! Quickly (there, back in 2017) - run to the nearest surplus outlet and get some army-grade stuff. Before the backpack gets whiff of the scheme and spills all the contents right then and there! Run, for your clean undies' sake, run! Or don't run, actually! tippy-toe, so the shaking won't make it unravel.

next time if you have to repair your bag or shoes, check out for cobblers in india, called 'Moochi' they do very good job in repairing.or check out any bag or luggage shops they always have repair person on sight ,you can get your bag , luggage repaired in no time and will last long with reinforcement .Don't have to do yourself they have special needle, thread,sewing machine and super glue.Infact i get some of my stuff which i really like.. repaired when i visit india from the US, its super cheap there

Dental implants about 1/6 of what you would pay here. Higher state of the art as well. My offer still stands if you want to go (Feb-Mar) flight and accommodations all on me. So what would you say is the mot rewarding part of India to travel in? I am possibly planning my first trip there in February and am torn between Rajasthan and Kerala. Both look beautiful but so different.
Kerala -palm trees, beaches, backwaters etc Rajastan: Heritage sites, palaces, desert, camels. Should be simple to choose.
I haven't been to Kerala so I can't compare, but it sounds pretty nice. I think Deepak explained the choice pretty well, just depends on what sounds more interesting. For that time of year then it's perfect to visit either area.
All 29 states are pretty unique and have their own unique culture, food and traditions.
*Northern India- Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan
Cities : Delhi, Agra, lucknow, jaipur, jodhpur, bikaner, udaipur, Varanasi.
Pros:Awesome food, cultural and historical heartland of INDIA.
Cons: A lot of people and extreme pollution.
*Central India - Madhya pradesh
An underrated and absolutely gorgeous state. The best place in the world to see tigers in the wild. BANDHAVGARH, KANHA national parks along with the Vindhyachal range of mountains. Cities like Ujjain, khajuraho, jabalpur, bhopal.
Southern India : A magical place with places like Hampi in karnatka and allepy, kochi and varkala beach in tamil nadu. Beautiful ancient buddhist places in Andhra pradesh as well. Brihadaeshwara temple and other temples around madurai. Pondicherry with auroville and gorgeous beaches.
Western India :
Goa for relaxing and partying. Amazing beaches with amazing nightlife. A lot of rainforests and waterfalls and lakes as well in this beautiful little state.
Maharashtra : Has a lot of beautiful places on the konkan coast as well as places like lonavala, Matheran and all the places in the western ghats.
Extreme north INDIA : The himalayas. Gorgeous hiking routes with some of the highest mountains in the world. Many high altitude treks and a lot of scope for sightseeing. Just put of this world
*North eastern states : Virgin rainforests and amazing tribal people. Completely different from the rest of india.

The lush green mountain to white snowy moutain on north India and sea beeches and spl pilgrims and ancient forts in our south India and rajasthan ...............beauty of nature and different culture in our north east india u will get everything every wether every kind of people pls do visit my country love to all 😄

For some reason I came across the dates for the fair. I forget where exactly, it was while I was in Thailand. Maybe someone mentioned it on facebook, or I came across an article in a magazine or something, I really can't remember. I'd never been to it so decided to go for it since I was thinking about coming back to India anyway.

I recommend you to visit north and north east india...that is amazing..or even you can go south to see kerala, bangalore...avoid central part.it is highly conjested.

You went all the way to Pushkar for the second time??? Hope you'll be visiting other Rajasthan cities like Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur which are very nice. You didn't document your plane and bus trips from BKK, Delhi, Jaipur and Ajmer, which would have been interesting. It's a lot of travel but fast. Take care.
This is actually my fourth time to Pushkar. I've also been to Jaisalmer a couple times and Udaipur once, but never visited Jodhpur. In Rajasthan I've also been to Jaipur, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Bundi, Keechen, Khuhri and Sam. Yes I didn't film the flight to India, was taking the day off. But I didn't go to Delhi yet on this trip, I flew direct to Jaipur. I did show the bus trip from Jaipur to Ajmer.....that's this video. :)

I'm sorry that your backpack broke, since I was the person who gave him the advice that they were good to buy. I bought a knock-off backpack in Bangkok and I traveled to the whole South East (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam) and South Korea with it and still I have it for my next trip. Gabe: I had mine reinforced on the handles and shoulder straps so that they do not detach. In India, it should not be expensive for a cobbler to do this type of job (couple dollars or less). Another thing is that the people who handle the luggage (Airplanes, Buses) do not have enough care.
No problem, I was thinking of getting a backpack in Asia before you even mentioned it. And I like the backpack, it fits perfectly and I think it's going to work out fine. Everything else seems pretty sturdy, they just didn't sew those straps very well that take all the weight. Seems solid for now so we'll see how it goes.

The backpack was 1,400 Thai baht or about $40. Not sure about needles in a carry-on bag, they always go in my checked luggage. Yeah I leave the thread on the spool. It would probably end up pretty messy otherwise.

Were the streets of pushkar much more busy than they otherwise would have been if not for the festival?
Yeah, completely different during the fair. Now that it's over it's much mellower, though still a bit busy. But there aren't the throngs of people.
I also love travelling and I want to join you Gablier but unfortunately I have not too much money like you to spend on travelling next time when you came to India tour so I also want to join you and I will help you to shoot your video on entire journey
$18 was way too much for that room. I'll suggest try Couchsurfing, which will not only give you real Indian hospitality experience but also keep your pocket happy. :)
It was more expensive because it was during the camel fair when hotel prices skyrocket. After the fair was over then the price dropped to $8 a night.
