Benetti is enjoying his first year as the this team’s TV voice, and put on hold his college football duties for a potential clincher in Detroit.

Benetti has been such an amazing addition to the broadcast. His humor makes it very enjoyable. Hope him and Dirks are full time next year. The two have unparalleled chemistry.

He’s so right about this town loving our sports narrators. Blaha, Mario and Rod, Ken and Mickey, Dan Dickerson on radio, Dan Miller for the Lions, and of course Ernie. Benetti has fit right in amongst those guys and if he stays here a while, I have a feeling I will be able to tell my grandchildren about him calling a playoff clinching home run and how it made me feel in the moment. Couldn’t be more excited that he’s my announcer.
It's wild bc the sox were so awful and toxic management he had to leave his hometown team .. sad

Very honestly the game is just not the same when Jason is not in the booth. His enthusiasm and his humor and his encyclopedic knowledge of the game - I am just bored as hell when Jason is not calling the game. I feel like we won the lottery with this team and Jason. I would probably listen to Jason call a freaking cake walk. 🤣

The way he speaks about his job and place in the sports world is so telling of the kind of man Jason is. He loves the game and he loves the people that came before him to make his job feel as important as one of the players. The way he says he "gets to do" this job tells so much about his perspective.

Jason is such a natural, like a fan who happens to be good at announcing. I like his banter with Kirk Gibson too, almost like a comedy team. Hope Kirk sticks around too, he gets some hate, but he is a true legend, a fan, and he makes astute observations during the broadcast, and has learned to have fun with Jason too!
He reminds me of a "cooler" Eugene from Grease. I'm diggin' it.
I can't help but feel that he's part of the reason where having this playoff push. Love having yu in the roster benetti!

Before the awesome turn around of the team I was saying thank god we got Jason Benetti. It only took about 5 games for my wife and I to go “this guy is truly perfect for this job!” How could Chicago let him go?! It’s been our pleasure to hear him call Tiger Baseball! Hopefully it will stay that way for the rest of my life! GO TIGERS ALL THE WAY!
