Sean with friends are building a drift car out of Ford Mustang body and Skyline RB26 engine and other parts.

Nissan Skyline RB26DETT engine stuffing into a 67 Mustang. Car is also reinforced with Global West control arms and front coilovers, KYB rear shocks, and Wilwood disc brakes. The fact that the movie studio really did a skyline engine swap on a 67 mustang is rare. Movies today wouldn’t do anything like that at all
They did the swap, but for the actual driving scenes they used a Mustang with a 351 Windsor

I'd rather say that you'd go to hell for putting a Japanese engine in a muscle/pony car like a Mustang, but it turned out to be a beast, yes.
That car is so bad ass. Sad he didn’t keep it but the ride he ends up with when he races Dom makes sense and isn’t a bad choice itself.

It's the body. S15 had some really bad beating when sean raced it. The engine swap would be perfect fast and maybe cheapest option there is.
I mean the Mustang body was more fixed than the S15 so there's that
They only had a couple of days to have a car ready. It would've taken them way too long to fix up the Silvia.

Honestly, If I was given the choice between a classic muscle mustang and the newest model of any speed car, Id take the classic. I might be a millineal (1989) but I love the classics more than current day models.

I'd say this aged like fine wine. Cars these days feel absolutely soulless compared to classics or retro modern cars.
I like this BC it suits Sean. Definitely one of my favorite Fast and Furious movies, it’s really underrated and compared to the movies now it’s great.
I have to watch this masterpiece again. The best f&f movie ever made. But you’re not ready for this conversation.

Mustang Nismo; I listen to this track sometimes while working in the garage. I've had a lot of Japanese sports cars, but I finally bought a Mustang and surprisingly it's my favorite! Continuing my "family tradition" of owning a Mustang lol. My Uncle has a '67 Shelby GT500, 10-second car!

It's tough to keep it under control with tons of power on a light chassis.
Ever since when I was a kid, I wanted to a Mustang to win a race in a movie Tokyo Drift was movie that made my wish come true and I love the 67 Ford Mustang Fastback with the green print job, fixing it to it original design and making the car for Sean to beat DK, when I think of Mustang I always go one of Tokyo Drift.

The only minor detail that bothered me about the mustang was the horse symbol missing on the car. I know they had to build it from scratch but it would have been cool though

Unusual pick, but this is my favorite car of the franchise (except for F9's '68 Charger mid-engine). It's just not what you'd expect from a Mustang. Looks like it but inside, it's a drifter. So darn cool

Guys did you know in Japan that changing an engine is 100% illegal with prison term? Cant do it, not allowed. Its an American thing only, cant do it here in Taiwan either where I am now. They do it to prevent thefts. It works, mostly 🤣🤣🤣
