    Breaking down the entire bike in 13 minutes very impressive. I could have done it in 6! lol I think I am going to record the sound your bolts make when you break them loose and play it no matter what I am working on. "Ok son ((((click)))) your bike chain is fixed." 😁Your content is great and is always getting better.

    Great video Del & Penny. It's very relaxing watching you tear it down mate. Nice to see I'm not the only one who labels things as they come apart. When I was in the trade if someone had to finish one of my jobs if I was away, they always said it made life so much easier. Penny and you have a great weekend, your weather should be getting nice now as all we are getting is rain, gets me thinking I don't miss all that bloody rain LOL, take care. Cheers

    Hi Del
    Superb footage as always. Hats off for making such rapid progress. I can appreciate how frustrating extracting the wiring loom must have been. One the plus side no snapped bolts or drama. We all appreciate your tremendous effort and the quality that goes with it. Interesting that there was zero water in that manky brake fluid. Super interesting series keep up the good work both! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊🇸🇪🇬🇧

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Paul, glad you're enjoying it.. the fluid is 'DOT5' and doesn't absorb water at all, so no matter how manky it gets, it will always be free of water content.! have a great week buddy ,and thanks for your support.

    Hope you both have a great weekend there. Still windy and rainy here, so will probably just work in the garage and catch up on a few things … like giving my mother-in-law another coat of wax and trying to find where she’s leaking. noice videos... as per usual dudeski. - Now, gonna sound weird, but the same techniques used to put together, pull apart a bike, so, like labels on the wiring, checking screw tightness, after all of them are in (nuts and bolts as well etc)
    I use when pulling apart a pc, desk top computer.
    Apart from torqueing stuff up... except the CPU.. depending on which heat sink is being used.. too much pressure cpu wont work, too little it cooks itself.
    Anyway... same technique. AND I always learn a little bit extra in every video.. like the plugs left in to stop anything falling down the engine..
    common sense kinda thing.
    Or like paracord on the end of a biker Puck... so you dont have to lean down to pick it up or leave it behind.

    Hi Del, really loving where this build is going but I never seem to have quite your luck with stuck bolts.
    I was hoping to ask a bit of advice regarding a pair of stuck bolts if that's okay? It's on the left hand control switches, the two T27 bolts, one on the top, and one underside near the grip. They're both stuck, royally stuck, and I can't get them undone by hand. Also looks like somebody slightly minced the top one, not tremendously badly but definitely wants to slip too easy. Used WD40 soak but they won't give, and i'm gonna mince them if I keep pushing (And I've never had to undo these in the 7+ years I've had the bike so they're very stubborn). I was thinking of taking some heat to it but the surrounding casing is all plastic so thought maybe a bad idea?
    Don't suppose you have any bright ideas for me? Cheers and please and thank you all in advance!
    PS Say hi to Penny for us! 🙋‍♀

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  2 роки тому

      Hi mate.. Firstly, as far as im aware, your switch casings are metal.. can't remember any Sportster having plastic ones.... none the less, if they're stuck, there are all the usual fixes, "tapping in a slightly bigger torx bit", or "a dab of grindging paste on the head of the screw" for the tool to bite on.. even "JB weld in the hole" can work... but in the end,. if you mince them out, then take a drill bit the same size as the shaft of the screw and drill down into the hole very carefully and the entire head will come off....that will let you remove the two halves, then you can take the stump of the screw out with some grips...! Good luck with it mate, hope you can get it sussed..!

    Hi Delboy’s Garage. I know this has nothing to do with this video. I’m wondering if you have any videos on triumph tiger 955i stator or rectifiers as I’ve just had to have a new yellow battery as mine was knackered. Now I’ve fitted my new battery when we rev the bike it drops the voltage down the come off the revs the voltage picks up again, I’ve done around 128 miles and I thought I’d just charge the new battery just to see and it’s taken an hour and half to charge up to full

    How do Harley get their bikes to rust so comprehensively, just luck or poor quality components?😂

      Sure thing, it was Day 2 of the 'teardown', not of the project... I wanted to do the motor first whilst it was still in the frame, as with all the torque wrenching and pulling around involved in building an engine, it was easier just to use the frame as a jig to hold it in place.

    Really enjoying these episodes! I revise my thinking that Harleys somehow had less going on in the bits and pieces construction than their other motorcycle manufacturer brethren, amazing the sheer number of items tucked away in there!

    Ahh, 'simplify & add lightness' - truly an Ulrika* moment (*a post Brexit 'eureka' - I KNOW she is, but she lives here now)
    You'll be glad of all this superbly shot footage come rebuild time . . . gotta beat having two Polaroids & a bad sketch eh.
    Quick tip re. rusty nipples & bleed valves etc. - a sheet of cheap corn plasters in your box, (like little 'soft felt' Polo mints)
    Stick 1 or 3 over the offender first, they'll 'wick' the Kroil in place & help stop those excruciatingly expensive run-offs : )xx

      Now that's why I love You Tube and Lod dude... sterling tips that I shall employ! And as for corn plasters, at my age they're in the cupboard next to the Ralgex and the Voltarol... oh and not forgetting the aspirins and the statins !!

      Statin? - 'just the tip & only for a minute!'
