The quality of these videos are amazing. I work in a distribution system, and I had to watch the wastewater video just because the quality is so top notch. Thank you for the information.
This is a great video. Very clear but not too technical. It is also filmed very, very well. If you ever have any open business related positions, I would love to work for a water treatment center as invloved and dedicated as this one.
I worked for a septic company and have dumped the truck at different treatment plants and also pumped sludge out of them to bring to a bigger treatment plant that can better dispose of it, either inceration or treating it enough to be sent by train to be used in fertilizer. Some treatment plants ad chlorine as the water leaves and others use an ultraviolet light as the water leaves to kill any bacteria left before it's discharged into a river. Some sewage treatment plants are even upstream of the plants that pull water from a river, treat it more, and send it out as city water for showers, toilets and consumption.

What about the step of adding chlorine and flouride and other chemicals? And what if someone does poisonous chemicals into the water?

It goes without saying that this is an excellent video, but I couldn’t help thinking how much it kind of sounded like it was narrated by Kevin Bacon.
Biomass- sludge biosolids- sludge cake sludge- poo
Yep, and the mix of raw sewage and activated sludge is called “mixed liquor.”
