Your video is very helpful. It was a lifesaver for me. Although, did u know u forgot a piece? The plastic circular vented piece that goes over the flywheel and clutch/drum? Maybe u found it in ur shop day or two later? 😊
I disconnected my FS40 stihl handle but can't seem to connect it back in order. Does any have a video showing how to reconnect the switch and power handles back in order.
I am trying to replace the drive shaft on this same model. Has anyone tried this repair. I cannot quite figure out how to get the old one out on the side where the head attaches.
how do u get the flex cable to seat back into the head of the weedeater down in the shaft does the end that hold the head on the shaft come off so u can reseat the cable in that end
For the price that they are charging for these tools they should be made to last longer than three years. Mine did not. Keep that in mind when considering this model weed eater.

When my FS40c finally gives up, I'll replace it with an electric trimmer. But for now, this'll let me keep up with necessary maintenance. Thanks.
On an FS40c can one still do a value adjustment if so, How is it done.

Do you do proper maintenance
