Worse yet, I'm inclined to believe when God summoned him (you can't just say he died), it all got worse as kids have no moral compass to bounce off of, no hope, no love, not even a smidge of compassion.
His show reran for 5 more years, then it was gone. All that's left is blotches of the void in those kids souls, most of them corrupted to darkness as they grew older.

jayjay86443 no it didn’t all you are seeing is humanity being itself, kids where like that before, the main cause is the economic struggle poor people can’t afford to be generous and Kind all the time. How can you expect someone working with shitty pay and living paycheck to paycheck to have time and the knowledge to teach their kids morals and help then with school work etc.

jayjay86443 things are never that simple and many people would rather right it off as simple so they won’t have to understand the complexity of it. I’m assuming your morals are the religious kind so I wouldn’t be surprised if you think the world is depraved. And it is, but not in the way you see it. I recall a friend asking about why women are more promiscuous now, and I told him he’s not acknowledging the history of women’s sexuality being oppressed and now they have human rights and free reign to fuck as they wish just like men are already evolved to do.

I dunno who is playing Mr. Rodgers but the impression is a lot more accurate than I would have assumed it to be.
Like, it isn’t perfect, obviously but damn if it isn’t really close. Very nice.
One detail I also adore is the fact Fred Rodgers seemingly, not only, knew the names of his crew but also made hand written notes with presents on the birthday of said crew member.

I like how it turns out the broken piano wire wasn’t part of the script. You’d think it was due to how easily woven in it was to the (in-universe) episode, but no, given Mr Rogers questions the prop quality, it was completely unintended, and he completely improvised what came after. Truly masterful.
Even better, the broken piano wire leads to the downfall of the money-grubbing producers. If they’d just used the money how it was meant to be, they’d probably not have died then and there.

The only reason Mister Rogers got into TV was because of how awful he thought TV was. When he graduated college in 1951 (he got a BA in music), he went home and found that his parents had bought a TV. He watched some programs and was appalled at the violence and commercialism. So he went to work at NBC for a while, got his Divinity BA (and was allowed to make children's television his ministry) and studied child development. He worked in Canada and Pittsburgh on various kids shows, and then started Mister Rogers Neighborhood in 1968 (so, no, he didn't fight in Korea or Vietnam). That was produced until 2001. He died in 2003.
There was a documentary made about him in 1971 that was on YT that I saw, but it's long since been pulled down. What amazed me when I saw it was, when it came to dealing with the adults while producing his show, he was kind, but he didn't play. He expected to be obeyed when he told people to do something. It was amazing to watch, because when we think "authority," we expect screaming and yelling and attitude, but he had none of that. He was focused on the work and was expecting his team to also focus on what the work was for. I hope I can find it again one day. It was a revelation, and it even helped me to change up my style of dealing with people at work.
