    Atlanta was beautiful back in the day. I'm talkin waaaay back in da 30's thru da 60's) Dat's why my grandma moved here in da 40's from Mecina, GA. It was black paradise in those days. A lot of folks from rural areas in Georgia and all over the south came here because If you were a black entrepreneur you could really expand your operation.

    Before "renovations" houses looked like slave quarters.

      I actually enjoyed the music. I needed the upbeat to get me through the slums and projects now homelessness (albeit not show) of our people over the years. And I'm from the KRS1 & Ms. Melody error of rap...thought provoking rap.

    Also thanks for watching my videos.....a lot of folks get the wrong impression of Atlanta, Atlanta used to be one of the most dangerous cities in the country for years. Check out the Forgotten Atlanta series.

    Thank you for posting these videos on aspect of Atlanta's history that many people would like to forget. Watching your videos has motivated me to research the history of public housing in Atlanta. The little bit I learned in school was not as specialized and personalized as your video footage.

    That sucks....Curtis is real appreciative of his fans/supporters. Well keep on promoting the video and if you come to Atlanta hit me up.

      Black Millionaire Status Thanks brother, I really appreciate it. I wish I could find pictures of Plunkett Town. I think that was the largest shanty town in Atlanta.

    It was built to cover the old slum Techwood Flats- the folks from Techwood Flats were too poor to live in Techwood Homes.

  • @terminuszone1

    Snow on Tha Bluff, isn't about a hood being built on top of another hood. It's just a section of the city that has long been forgotten about....trust me if these neighborhoods were still standing they would be worse, physically, than the Bluff is now.

  • @terminuszone1
    @terminuszone1  12 років тому +1

    True, it definitely does capture the reality of that neighborhood....it's on the FBI's list of one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in American. Do you want to meet Curtis and visit his hood?

    The cycle I was talking about it the cycle of drugs, murder, etc that takes place in the hood. I personaly think Snow on Tha Bluff did capture that.

    The building at 3:57 named Forrest, could that have been the Forrest Arms Hotel that once sat at 325 Butler St in the Buttermilk Bottom section of Atlanta?

      Maybe you can help with two questions. 1) Tanyard Bottoms, was that a poor black area or white? 2) Do you have any info on Black Gay America's clubs, bars and lounges in Atlanta PRIOR TO 1980? I realize the second is rather specific but I figured I would ask.

    • @terminuszone1
      @terminuszone1  8 років тому +1

      +Leon Norman Tanyard Bottoms was poor white slum that was cleared for Techwood Homes. It was also called Techwood Flats. No, I don't know anything about that second question.
