My dear Ms. Harris....you have given me renewed hope to continue my painting, even tho' one so-called friend described it as "chaotic." But then, he likes his art safe. Yours, on the other hand, is as dangerously creative as it gets. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do in the name of abstract expressionism.
Hello Cat, I'm glad it resonates with you. It is sometimes chaotic, but that's the way I interpret the world at times. I love calm art but it doesnt seem to be my way of communicating.
After some 20 years of being an artist this is the only artist that I have ever listened to that made sense of her art talk... it was like poetry, like her art.
Thank you for that generous comment. I believe learning to speak about your art helps you and others understand what your source of inspiration is and it it connects you to the world.
I love this video and your work, Krista! I heard about you through SavvyPainter and I felt like I could relate, because I'm a graphic designer trying to push myself more into painting. Thanks for the inspiration!
When I watched your earlier video, something clicked for me in my search for artistic freedom. I see how you are inspired by the world around you and how that leads you to the colors and forms you use. Very enlightening. Thank you for sharing with us.
Just so beautiful and truly inspirational - you seem to make your painting gestures like a tentative dialogical dance interweaving the known and the unknown - honoring possibility of the Living now.
Dear Krista, I too am an intuitive painter and I constantly am changing what I paint and how. Thank you for sharing your work and methods. I would love to take a workshop if you ever do such a thing. Your work is great. Anne
Thank you Anne for your comments. I appreciate hearing from you. If you'd like to be added to my contacts list for future workshops visit my website and you can sign up there. kristaharris.com
How does one teach abstract art? I've been painting abstracts for years and cannot understand what other artists are doing or saying. Plus it can take weeks to finish an abstract.
I really love the way you start a painting, with the 'scribbling', and then the white following; I assume gesso. What is the drawing medium you use for the initial scribble, if I may ask? Thanks for a new video!
this art maintains that reality has already been expressed and the themes of it have been exhausted in relation to art. Therefore, the need arises for a new way of perceiving reality. to recommend my favorite artists Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Frida Kahlo, Roberto Matta Gabino amaya cacho and Pablo Picasso.

Hello. I am a student of painting. There is a question. You are initially scribbling on a blank canvas with a pencil I then saw a pencil erasing things that were scribbled. What kind of supplements do you use to erase them? Please let me know.
So glad you have a new video out. It was great to see you again this summer at your show at Tansey in Santa Fe.
Lovely! thanks.

Love this Krista! Do you use watercolor crayons for the initial scribbling?
Thank you. I'm using a water soluble black crayon for the initial mark making.

Hello. I am a student of painting.

I then saw a pencil erasing things that were scribbled.
What kind of supplements do you use to erase them?
Please let me know.
Hi Seongryul i think she does not use any eraser, she uses some kind of gel medium (artistic acrylic) to fix the charcoal.
Hope this help you.
I'm working over the marks with Golden extra heavy gel medium
