I remember watching the movie that was made based on this tragedy in the early nineties. I think it was called "Alive". I totally forgot how long the survivors were stuck in the mountains. Utterly amazing! Great video!!

I am a student from Colegio Stella Maris (from where the Rugby Team is) and since a new, locally made, movie came out about the miracle, and some survivors came to give us a talk, i decided to investigate more on the subject. Your voice plus the MSFS footage adds a lot to what i already know, thanks for making this video!

This epic story of endurance must rank with Shackleton's for sheer courage, determination and true grit.

It is still hard to believe what they were able to endure and still survive.

Thanks, The fact these young men walked out of the Andes Mountains is a miracle. I heard an interview where a professional mountaineer told Nando the only reason they were able to do it was because they had no idea what they were undertaking. I thought that was an interesting point. Thanks for watching Dear Ol' Dad -> ua-cam.com/channels/HcY4B4qANgZVDe49_mL9Eg.html

Thank you for the video, it was very interesting and well done. I followed here from the Buddy Holly video you did, which was also very well done and made me want to follow similar flights myself in actual conditions. I hardly ever subscribe to channels but I had no trouble at all subscribing to this one, I'm looking forward to seeing all the others that you already did, and will do in the future.

Thanks for the feedback. I have fun making them and appreciate when someone enjoys them. I am more about the back story and not replicating the actual flight and conditions, but that would be interesting aspect as well. Keep me updated if you do some sim flying. 👍

No matter how many times I hear or read about this story, the fact they survived the walk out is truly amazing.

@@DudeTours I know what you mean, they had no real winter clothing or proper boots/shoes to hike through those mountains for miles and their nights were worse….sub 0 temps……..the only thing going for them was they were young & in shape (rugby team), plus they made a good decision eating the deceased bodies which goes along with the will to live……I’m not a religious person, but this was definitely a miracle!

You've covered all the flight disasters that I have been quite affected by. The Andes flight I read about in the book then saw the movie when they did it. The musicians lost were all favorites of mine, especially Glenn Miller. Can't help but start toe tapping when I hear "String of Pearls". The Big Bands music was before my birth but hits a special place in my heart. Jim Croce's music was very meaningful with "Time in A Bottle" being my husband's and my special song. Pasty Cline's music is some of my favorite Country songs. Haven't heard if you covered Ricky Nelson's plane crash. Keep up your informative work please.

Love your videos. Have you ever accidently crashed in the simulator while "filming/recording" one of your videos?

😂 Yes, more times than I should admit.
