I remember it being the fantastic movie that changed me. Computer in a new way. I was born in 1968 and see this now. I couldn't even see this coming. And with Star Wars and Alien. And Jaws, And D&d movies. This is changing everything about in New way of thinking about movies .
I remember when this first came out and thinking it was a ground-breaking film and couldn't understand why people weren't waxing lyrically about it. Visually it still looks fantastic today. I've just noticed though, how it's somehow reminiscent of Fritz Lang's 'Metropolis' as well.
One of THE best original sci-fi movies that pushed the boundaries of technical excellence! - Bring back David Warner even if it’s a deep-fake (David Warner’s estate permitting) 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
TRON (Original) all the way for me.😎👍 Although Legacy had some good moments it felt, and looked(!), more like a Matrix spinoff (with some neon lines added as an afterthought). TRON was underrated and underappreciated at the time - most people thinking it was a video game movie when it was much much more than that! It was about the inner workings of a computer and a parallel world within before both VR and cyberspace caught on! 🤗👌 Personally I feel that both Reboot and The Lawnmower Man as well as Automan😉 were the true 'sequels' to the Original far more so than Legacy! 😇👌👍
The original was always the best to me. I saw it at the theater when it came out way back in 1982 and I was mesmerized! Saw it 4 more times before it was off run. I didn't like the 2nd movie nearly as much...too cryptic and weird...the first was just more up my alley I guess.
Idk if I can agree on that. Tron: Legacy was a very different beast from something like the Matrix. I'd say that Legacy falls short with the story a bit but otherwise its a pretty great reimagining of the original's visual style and worldbuilding. We have a beautiful rendition of the light cycle, discs, recognizers, solar sailers, the sea of simulation, etc. The suits, while different, follow the same design principles. I think Legacy's biggest problem is that less of a story about being inside of a computer, and more of a story about emergent AI. That alone I feel changes the tone of the entire film.
Please Disney give us an HD remake of this movie and use this fan made video as an example. It's so underappreciated and many would pay to see this again with modern visuals and keeping the original style and tone intact. We ask for Tron, you give us Soy Wars. Forget it, at least Disney didn't butcher it and Tron Legacy. At least we have that so better to leave it ALONE.
I'd love if they let CorridorDigital redo all of the vfx shots. They tried to recreate one of the lightcycle scenes using modern techniques, and they managed to do a reall good job with it. They basically just recreated a lightcycle shot but with modern lighting and texturing. They kept all the old janky 80s animation, so it was true to the original still, but just way nicer looking.
Crazy how this was super advanced at that time and was cutting edge but today it just looks like a skit about a really bad low budget cgi film. Technology has come a long way
This movie is an absolute masterpiece.
and compared to the legacy one even more so. i really can not believe how incredibly stupid the sequel is.

yeah so cool the colors
Brilliantly done. Brought a tear to my eye. Still one of my favorite movies since seeing it in the theater as a kid.

I remember that Simpsons episode when Homer goes into the other dimension and to describe it he says 'has anyone ever seen that movie Tron?'
Yes! I believe that was a treehouse of horror episode
@@By_the_gods Homer ^3
Thanks for showing this to me as a kid dad.
Used to get all excited in my youth when cinema aired new movie previews. Early 2000s was the last time.
Great uprez of the original Trailer, looks fantastic!
I so wish that Disney would bring this out on 4K
The Movie That Started It All! Tron 40th Anniversary 1982-2022!
A favorite of mine as well.
can you do the whole film please 😊
"BECAUSE MAN!" How many takes were required until Boxleitner didn't burst out laughing at Jeff Bridges' wild, yet endearing, over-acting?
I don't see any overacting. Jeff Bridges rocks!
If your inside ...might as well have a good time 😊
This is a nice trailer. The light cycles look and the sound of the light cycles sounds cool (it's attractive).
That was a great movie trailer. It brings me back to my original days as a small program. End of line.
This is EPIC!
Sark:. You're very persistent, Tron!
Tron:. I'm also better than you!
restored ? wow . this movie is like time machine
This is still cool!! At the time, many people thought it sucked. I didn’t. Film directors and writers could this as template for a good movie.
Brilliant work! Well done.
The video portion completes 30 seconds before the audio.
David Warner and Jeff Bridges are good looking
What was the music in this is sounds different
Fucking hell, super impressive and creative use of CGI for 1982! Great restoration reel!
The beginning of everything. Especially my taste for electronics and computing....what memories of my childhood ^_^
2:23 - 2:33 . Absolutely spine tingling.

I love this movie!
So this is what happened to "The Dude" before the big lebowski
That pushed the limits in these years
@Gareth Hutchinson ok
Why do you call it "Original Trailer" in the title when it is a fan made trailer?
Before Toxic WOKENESS- Thanks for sharing this trailer.
Looks so cool

Check out the extended director's cut of Lawnmower Man on the net. Worthwhile.

This is great until the very end when the titles appear... suddenly its kind of Flat and the pace drops to 0... up until that point... its awesome!
Before there was reboot, there was tron!
I don't think legacy is a reboot
I think it's part 2
@@dillzpicklez-2871 I think he means Reboot the CGI cartoon. Tron predates that show.
@@FreeNintendo21 yeah I was thinking that too
Man, check out how young Jeff Bridges was. 🤣
Kevin Flynn: Greetings Programs!

RIP David Wagner.
nice
Grossed 2x the budget, so a box office failure.

3 minute trailer, too long!
