I just got mine this week and it’s awesome. Getting some real good Tool tones out of it. Tons of gain if you want it. I have mine backed off and those notes ring out clear while it is growling like a beast.
Proud owner of the Deizel and the Soldano... Im a drummer who just fell into the rabbit hole of high gain guitar gear, so they are perfect for me who just wants amazing sounds to play with at home without it costing me $4k for ONE boutique amp... 🤘
@@mrfattyfathead you can get a Seymour Duncan 100watt ss power amp, run it straight to that or through the loop and it will blow the drummer right out of the water.
These things are pretty cool. I dont think I'd ever bother using one in a band situation, messing around at home with them might be fun. I dont want anymore pedals and my Revv G3 distortion pedal is hard to beat for high gain in pedal form. I like the idea of these mini heads. Thanks for the solid review!
I just had my Hotone 'British invasion' amp out last weekend when I jammed with a friend. Through a 'Mojotone' 2X12 cab w/cream backs it's amazing how much air it moves, and the volume it has! All for $120!! I like it better than a Fender or Vox modeling amp I also tried, although they were much older ones. This one has too much drive for me. Looking forward to one that is cleaner. Great demo!! Thx Phil!! 8) JMHO --gary
this sounds huge. I know people are knocking it because its not a real tube head and its small and just the preamp pedal into a power amp, but i still really love it. Gonna snag one soon! thanks for the vid phil!
Would love one to run thru my spare Orange 4x12 cab and see how it compares to my larger tube amps. That and the mini Friedman BE would be great for desktop riffage.
Can't say I'm the biggest G fan, but that SG is really pretty neato. The amp sounds pretty great for being so small I think. This might be good for some heavier djenty and dropped tuned metal in general. Bummed there isn't a super good clean channel, or it would probably sound good for Killswitch Engage
Awesome to see you get out the solar and do some chugs . I would probably be happier with something like this instead of my katana or pod go. I spend more time fiddling with tones than just playing guitar like the old days.
These would be great as combo amps, but still with speaker out jacks - or an hardwired internal speaker with an extra speaker out jack that killed the internal speaker.
Honestly, I never thought I would be interested in any of these micro heads....But I actually really like what the VH4 model sounds like. This would be a fantastic noodling amp for the living room. I would combine it with a single 12" closed back cab loaded with a V30.
I just bought the JOYO Zombie 2 I'd love to hear your review on it! in my opinion it beat the Diezel Micro as it had a more full sound. What is your impression? love your content!
@@lukehenderson436 I mean bass amps that look kinda like this that have that vintage look but smaller lol. Like a legit mini head with reasonable wattage.
You’ve got to check out the Katana Air at some point. One heck of a mini amp. Pricey but no cable’s can run on batteries all the effects and controllable with a phone app.
I like the idea of these amps. The design of the amp enclosure could be a bit better to make them more distinct from each other since the Soldano 30 w shares the same cheap box design. Its a fun piece of equipment yet borderline novelty.
they'd never do it especially now that gibson owns them and they'd probably charge something like $6-700, but mesa doing the same thing with the old v-twin pedal mated to a sta540 power amp like the orange micro series would be killer
Ive heard a few of these and so far this one is my favorite. The bogner sounds pretty good in demos but i had a hard time with the pedal so i may have a hard time getting a sound i like out of the amp. Has anyone plugged an active guitar into any of these
All these new micro amps are cute, but I feel they are just a fad that won't last. I don't see any practical reason to own one. Since you still need a full-size speaker cab and your pedalboard to use one. I would definitely prefer a nice 15w lunchbox valve amp. For a bedroom/practice S/S amp you may as well get one with built-in effects for the same or less money like a Mustang or Katana.
Part of the appeal of these amps is specifically BECAUSE of their cuteness. They aren't supposed to be serious amps. Why do people want to buy NES Mini's and Sega Megadrive/Genesis Mini's when they can just run emulators instead? Because they want something that looks nice on their shelf. These amps serve the same purpose as those products.
I have an 18W H&K, I use it with a Mojotone 1X12 cab w/alnico blue spkr. It takes pedals very well, just like the bigger ones. I use it to play out in smaller venues. You can really crank the volume on it and not be too loud. Love it! I think it was ~$600. 8) JMHO --gary
I'm actually selling my prs mt 15 and probably getting one of these Instead, as a at home apt player I'm finding these little amps are all I want or need , and the prs mt 15 at the price point I bought it for isn't significantly better than these little head amps , if I had bought my prs mt-15 around 300to350 max id be fine with it but considering I have to use a noise gate and even then it's complicated to get it to sound chuggy , sounds trashy but if you put any overdrive on it it was too much for it and the noise was incredible, i use and prefer my joyo zombie , wish it wasn't tye case feel bad for dropping 800$ on a amp that sounds around 350$ at best imo.

Thank you, very kind of you to say
As a VH2 owner, I can confirm this is great for the price! Might pick one up sometime.

I think that getting all 3 mini amps(Friedman,Diezel and Bogner) and then a loop / amp switcher pedal board would make a Killer Rig.
They just dont have enuff volume is all. They have everything going for them.
