Great video guys, thanks for making. I'm probably one of those rare bikers that actually loves the big scoots and sports bikes. I also own both. Well done guys!
when i was 5 years old (1960) i saw my dad driving a vespa, indian, and a vw beatle. so i have all of them, but in modern engines. buying one more vespa of LXV model. good and funny vid that you don't see often on youtube. good ride :)
One little test that was not performed between the larger scooters was exactly how far they go on a gallon of gas, and that is where the Vespa really rules!
Most simple test for storage space is can you fit a helmet under the seat? hehe! Yes Yamaha (Majesty 2000 build I had) always seem very generous with their space. Its a big positive them being longer for pillion riding but yes due to physics tough to get round tight corners! PS the lexmoto scooter I have is rubbish for seat space cant even fit a helmet in it! Had kinda bodge on a large top box so can do some shopping!
You gotta be pissing me I weigh 274 and my ballistic hits 61 mph at no prob, at times I can hit 65 going straight, + those others have way powerful motors, plus their design. Chinese gy6 motors at stock setting needs proper tuning to harness it's potential.
It was painful to watch putting a foot down when turning. Good way to break an ankle. I have actually seen that happen on hard-ball. Maybe you can do that in the dirt, but maybe some more practice wouldn't hurt.
Sorry guys, what was you trying to do? Show the features or talk spit on the chinese scooters? The way with the 300cc, 500cc, 800cc, then I guess the 150's wouldn't have not much comparison. If you really want a gomoto to pack some heat throw a Taida 232cc kit to that engine and let's see who'll be laughing, Gy6 motors are accessible and easy to work with and plus you got to consider those stinkin' stock parts holding it back need them gone.
80mph (128km/h) is barely highway capable, and that is probably not at 1700m above sea level where you lose about 20% of your power either. The Ninja 250R and Honda CBR250 sells for significantly less - $4100 - yet easily manages those speeds and more. You don't just want 120km/h as your top speed, you need to be able to maintain it on inclines and with headwinds.
Thomas Jefferson I have a 2 year old TaoTao 150cc Paladin with 4800 miles and it's still in great condition. If you take good care of them and keep up with maintenance they aren't as bad as you think. The only reason the majority of them don't last very long is because most of the people that buy them don't know anything about them, they don't do any maintenance on them. I met a guy who had nearly 1500 miles on his and he had the oil changed once and never change the air filter, the fuel filter and the gear oil.
Hello I see no point to the 150's as they are to big for the A1 licence. I see no point to the 150's and 300's as they are not big enough for the A2 driving test (Minimum 395cc) My old Vespa 150 sport (Pre 125 limit) did not have any storage under the seat but it did have a lockable brief case sized pocket on the back of the leg guard Andy C
carl couch I presume it's in a limited space since the other large engined ones can go more too. The small ones seemed to pretty much top right out which says restricted space.
Isn´t it hilarious how people bash harley to the ground for being "over prized" and 'not even that fast' but the Vespas are considerate artsy and so european and estylish LOL so much BS on the motorcycle world. Anyways, haters gonna hate, HD and Vespa are indeed on a class of their own, they have character.
Why all Gomoto for cheap scooters?? Well suppose it represents the Chinese/asian market not including Japan ofc! Not seen any Gomoto over here in the uk for sale second hand but maybe they have changed their brand name? Really only 50 mph on a 150cc?? Haha thats terrible my Lexmoto Tornado 125cc goes faster! Yes its a chinese bike but seems like hardly anybody has a decent condition Yamaha or Honda scooters for sale now with all these cheapo imports drowning them out. Always see tonnes of DirectBikes about.
Some corrections: the T-Max is by far the most expencive one and the GP800 has 839cc! The T-Max is the great LOSSER here. No great falue for the money at all ...
where's Honda SH 300i with it's magnificant Brakes also TGB Bellavita 300 EFI has better brakes than the Vespa. Moreover the driver is shit. Because every modern brakes is able to block the tires. But skidding tires brake less than rolling. and pressure euqals the force you can put on the tire until it skidds so weight is also not an issue. It depends on the driver and he's not a very good one unluckily
Yeah go Vespa go! I have a 07 Vespa GTS250 since new out of the store, over 18,000 miles and still love it :)
No surprise there. Vespas are brilliant.
Bloody hell a few of those catches were worthy of the SA cricket team!
Great video guys, thanks for making. I'm probably one of those rare bikers that actually loves the big scoots and sports bikes. I also own both. Well done guys!
sunday, jeans, convers that beautiful vespa a beautiful road what more can you ask for

If your in to scooters, Vespa is the one that still have some coolness.

Basically scooters seem to have two many questions.
Highway capable?
Break the bank?
Thoroughly entertaining shoot-out though.
lmfao! that chip throwing stunt cracked me up!
great video, more scooters please
How long was the "drag strip"?
Awesome video.
best video on youtube please do more scooter vids!!!!
oh i want the bike that bike where the front tire might lock up and kill me. That review sold me.

I like during the braking he locked up the back wheel on all of them. coz that's the best way to stop hey
feet down riding?
I'm 60 year old female, 5'4"...is a 125cc a good bike I can handle or should I get a 50cc scooter? I'm so confused lol.
Mary Ann Mirro you'll be fine on a 125cc but if you're worried it'll be too much engine as first bike then get a 50cc
VESPA GOGOGO!!!
that music ... from Mr Maker!
Fat Journo says "that one" is the "loser". Priceless.
4:51 Putting ya foot down is a fail on any riding test! HAHA!!
Gp800gilera is a very surprise.
YAMAHA- MAX WAS THE BEST IN MY OPINION.
not fair i see the malossi exhaust and windscreen and more things on the vespa gts 300. already €700 on parts

were these gps speeds?
Where is the BMW C 600 Sport?
It was painful to watch putting a foot down when turning. Good way to break an ankle. I have actually seen that happen on hard-ball. Maybe you can do that in the dirt, but maybe some more practice wouldn't hurt.
1:17 this is what happens when you put your finger in the wall outlet in the morning!
why test diffrent size engines against each other whats the point its obvious which will be better on petrol and speed ?
should of included the Genuine Blur 220

Where's the Suzuki Burgman 650 ?
Piaggio 4 ever!!!
No Burgmans/Skywaves?
yeah bummer no burgman for test :(
... just a pity that none of the new BMWs was tested ...

No honda forza 300;(
i dont get it. my yamaha x max 250cc top speed is 160 howww?
160km/mph is common on 250 cc I have a honda forza 250cc and my top speed is 160km/mph
A scooter test with no honda??
+Fat White Boy Vespa isn,t Chinese though.... those are Italian
you didnt mention the distance if you use scooter for long distance tmax is best
The Chinese will end up on CL for $100 not running with in a year or 2

They tried to be top gear, but failed.

my vespa t5 does 80mph and that 300 only does same nah
If it still going, it's not top speed.
Quiero una vespa
Burgman 650 > everything else.
Yeh…much greater…:))
TMax rocks!!!
yamaha mio sporty 125 can reach 120. imagine if you're going to increase the displacement...
Winner or not, if they were giving away Vespa's on the corner for free, I wouldn't even bother to get out of bed that morning.
Crap set of road tests. meaningless in the real world.
Vespa GTS 300 RULES!
The Vespa?... you have got to be joking.
vespa 300 is faster than 70mph, the 125 does 70 lol, its a shit test
vespa man The speed was in the space we had available...
ah ok, sorry guys. I do like your vids very much
+F. Wood Not rreally that surprised, maxi scooters lose the scoot handling and it was the only real performance scoot sized scoot
₪0
haha ha kill me now the vespa
Se me hace una comparativa muy pendeja al ser distintas cilindradas, distintos sistemas de frenado y distintos tipos de motonetas
oh 80! lololol
Ehh, you missing out Aprilia SRV 850cc - the fastest scooter on the planet -*-
T-MAX Top Speed is much more HIGH !!
My record is 176km/h.
+The777gogo mines 185km/h
BMW??????????????????????????
I don't get the top speeds. vespa 300 does 90mph so why do they say it does 70mph. im confused by this test. maybe they got a gts125cc.
carl couch I presume it's in a limited space since the other large engined ones can go more too. The small ones seemed to pretty much top right out which says restricted space.
90 kilometres not MPH. 100 KLs = 62.25 Mph
dat moet mijls zijn niet km

Idiots ... GP800 can do 205 , Tmax 165 . Unmodded .
jrm0695 They did the test on a short straightaway. These guys are idiots.
+Fox Baker not unmodified but not enough road

Some corrections: the T-Max is by far the most expencive one and the GP800 has 839cc! The T-Max is the great LOSSER here. No great falue for the money at all ...

These are fake data. My Tmax 530 from 2012 can go at 180 km/h. No tuning
c650 bmw? mmmm is not good scooter
