Less than 2 weeks as of uploading this we’ll be on another German adventure with the first game being Borussia Dortmund vs St. Pauli 🍻 🇩🇪 then Hannover vs Schalke 🥳 then Holstein Kiel vs Union Berlin 💥 we’ll also be checking out lots of stadiums in between 🏟️ ICH LIEBE DEUTSCHEN FUSSBALL ❤️
You should check out Altona 93 it's the 3rd biggest club in Hamburg, currently stuck in 5th division. It kind of is everything that St.Pauli used to be or at least what it wants to be. Many nice people there and an interesting unique culture, also they actually drew west ham in a friendly a few years back 😄
@janhildebrandt2598 weirdly I’ve just been researching them - staying in Hamburg on the Sunday night after Kiel so will head there first thing Monday 😊👍🏾
I really need to get to a Bundesliga game after watching your recent videos. Theres just something different about the whole matchday experience at these games. keep up the great work Ry.
Thank you mate! German football really changed my outlook on everything and my love for it just came out of nowhere from stumbling across tickets - now I can’t enjoy English football as much as it’s just so tame in terms of fan involvement and excitement 😬
🎶 "Das Herz von St. Pauli, das ist meine Heimat, in Hamburg da bin ich zuhaus! Der Hafen, die Lichter, die Sehnsucht begleiten das Schiff in die Ferne hinaus!" 🎶 🤎🤍❤🏴☠️
Not you wearing a Dynamo Dresden fanny pack paired with a FCSP shirt at 2:38 - those clubs really don't like each other because as you mentioned, St. Pauli is (far) left and on the other side you have Dresden which (especially the ultras) are mostly far right 👀 And also: Forza FCSP! 🤎🤍
You have excellent eye sight 👀 🤣 I went to the cafe during filming the video as the Mrs wanted some cake 🍰 so I had to wear something to carry the cake back home haha
🤣 probably an analogy only Brits will understand but the whole 2nd club thing would apply more to a club like Bochum I think - St. Pauli deffo divide opinion
Great Video! Always Loved St Pauli and I certainly agree with there left wing politics so loving the marmite! Im a Wednesday fan but definitely my adopted German team!
It is not even politics to not be a hateful person. Not discriminating people regarding other skin colors, religion, sexes or whatever should be normal for every single person on this freakin planet! But unfortunately in our current times we have to keep these things up very strongly again. And if football can help with that, fair enough. (Not a Pauli supporter btw)
it should just be a given - people shouldn't have to be reminded to not be racist - I agree fully with the messages, but lets just keep the 90 minutes about football 😊
@@RysFootyParadise I get your point, but I don't really agree on that. Maybe also depends on how you define politics. Just look at the derby this weekend, Braunschweig vs. Hannover, in which the politics of the state Lower Saxony reduced the contingent of guests due to some incidents on previous Derbies. Ultra groups of both clubs decided to stay away or be silent plus showing banners against the politics. Same with last year, bug thing, German Ultras fought the entrance of an official investor into the Bundesliga. Or critizing police violence against fans. This is all politics, mate. Politics is not just Nazi vs. Antifa. So if you look closer, there is politics involved everywhere. Even if you complain that you cannot drink beer on English stands... that's politics. Isn't it?! 😉
Another comment regarding St. Pauli and your favorites Bochum: especially regarding the ultra scenes (in Bochum also lots of 'normal' fanclubs and fans) have close ties to Bayern Munich and their ultra groups. Meaning, St. Pauli and Bochum ultras often meet at Bayern games. So there is definitely also contact (no official friendship though) between Pauli and Bochum guys.
good to hear mate 😊 friendships aren't really a thing in Britain - it's nice to see in Germany - although Celtic are friendly with St. Pauli aren't they? Because Rangers & HSV?
@@RysFootyParadise Yes, you are right. St. Pauli has many friendships, obviously also based on political ideals, but not only. It also does not always need to represent the whole fan scene, but certain groups. In Pauli e.g. to Bremen, Bayern, Babelsberg (4th league), Liège (Belgium), Hapoel Tel Aviv (Israel), AEK Athens, Marseille, Sampdoria and Ternana (Italy). Maybe some (especially last ones) are outdated or only contacts meanwhile, but as I said, I am not a Pauli fan.

IF (and that’s a very big IF indeed) Eintracht Frankfurt manage to defeat Bayern München later today, and take the Bundesliga top spot you should visit Eintracht Frankfurt as soon as you can, as long as the supporters still feel fine… because trust me, you don’t want to visit Eintracht when the „Diva“‘s fans are in a bad mood after the usual, traditional dive that haunts the club in the second half of the seasons…
Haha 😅 looking forward to the game - especially after Leverkusen dropped points yesterday - just planning my November trip actually and was thinking Frankfurt/Stuttgart/everyone in between
@@RysFootyParadise So, Mainz, Kaiserslautern, Hoffenheim (at Sinsheim), maybe Heidenheim, Darmstadt, Karlsruhe…? (Zweite Bundesliga side Elversberg is a bit away from most routes…) There are a couple of historical teams’ grounds in and around Frankfurt, with FSV Frankfurt, Kickers Offenbach and Hanau 1893. Unfortunately the site of the 1919/1920 German Championship match, Sandhöfer Wiesen („Sandhof Meadows“) no longer is a stadium (AFAIK the stadium stands were given up during WW2, demolished in the late 1940s, the remnants deteriorated and were no longer visible by the mid-1970s. However, the grounds as such still serve two football (second-lowest division) clubs and a tennis club.
