  • I compare & review the 2019 Jeep Cherokee V6 & 4cyl Turbo plus compare it to earlier years of the Cherokee. What are your thoughts on the 2 different power plants with similar power ratings???

    Just leased a 2019 v6 today. Love it. My wife loves it too. It was snowing heavy on the way home from the dealership and the jeep was fantastic.

    Great video. I have a 19 Trailhawk, I went with the v6, I drove both, couldn't really tell much difference. I went with the v6 cuz it's a proven engine, runs on regular grade fuel, and I agree it sounds better.

    I just learned a bunch about my '15 TH that I didn't know...4wd is on in low temps? And when wipers are on? That explains why sometimes the wheel spin isn't bad. Thanks for the review.

    It's nice that they offer a 4 cylinder Turbo but the V6 Penastar is a proven, long term and reliable engine. Turbo puts more stress on the engine as well and long term durability will suffer because of it unless the engine is built exceptional well like on a Porsche, AMG or any well made sports engine. Also the V6 engines runs smoother since it has more cylinders.

    So I’m looking to buy a 2019 jeep Cherokee turbo or v6? Or should I not buy at all? I just had a baby so I’m looking to trade in my Camaro!

    My brother has the 4 cylinder turbo and I have to say, that engine and transmission makes that ride. The 9sp is paired nearly perfectly with that 2L Turbo. I wouldn't get the V6 personally, simply because the turbo is such an enjoyable driving experience.
    Side note: I am not a Chrysler or Mopar guy. But this 4cyl turbo +9sp package impresses me. I hated it with the 2.4 NA as it was always searching for gear and it kinda seems like the V6 is similar.

    • @CarGuy11

      Sounds good yeah there is less shifting needed with the torque of the turbo.

    What type of gas does the 2019 3.2L V6 Cherokee take?

      V6 uses 87 oct.

    Does it like lag when u are like coasting and then tramp on the gas having that with problem with my Jeep Cherokee like it doesn’t respond well and shifts really weird

    • @CarGuy11
      @CarGuy11  5 років тому +1

      That’s the terrible shifting 9sp auto.

    • @camdavis7034
      @camdavis7034 5 років тому

      CarGuy11 could u tell that with the v6? I have a 4 cylinder but isn’t good at shifting and lags do u think the v6 is better and smoother with that?

    The 4 turbo has more torque, feels a lot stronger, better mated to the transmission and is better on fuel yet the win goes to the 6 because it sounds better and is 500 bucks cheaper on a 35000 plus dollar vehicle? Man, I have different criteria when I choose cars. I like your videos , but 90% of this video you are stating the 4turbo is better than the 6 you are driving, then you recommend the 6. ????

    • @CarGuy11
      @CarGuy11  5 років тому +1

      Haha they are both good options for sure and actually not sure why they offer both. I forgot to mention the V6 with tow package gives you the max tow rating of 4500lbs as well.

    • @craighudson4382
      @craighudson4382 5 років тому +2

      Thats very true, although anyone towing more than 2000 lbs most likely will vote for a half tonne or larger. Never figured out why the turbo with the 1 less HP but over 50lbs more torque is rated at 4000 lbs vs 4500 lbs for the V6. There is obviously a metric they use to determine these beyond HP and Ft/lbs torque.

    • @CarGuy11
      @CarGuy11  5 років тому +1

      It’s because the turbo runs hotter especially when in boost for long periods towing. They don’t even offer the turbo 4 in Gladiator pickup because of this.

    The reviewer claims he would get the V-6 over the Turbo due to cost, were only talking a 500 dollar difference, big whoop when your buying a car that's pushing 40K

    V4 Turbos suck. I’ll use my Ford Fusion as an example. A big POS.

    • @bourbon.36
      @bourbon.36 Рік тому +1

      I literally just traded in a 2017 Fusion that had the 2.0L EcoBoost. Not sure how that is a POS. Had plenty of power and was a smooth running engine for me. Traded it after 5 years and 120k miles, and only traded it because I wanted to upgrade to an SUV. Had a 2014 with the same Engine prior to it, but only lost it when it was flooded out in Hurricane Harvey. And it's Inline 4, not V4.
