why don't I see "boost" on my business page post? Great post! One of the the few videos that actually makes sense! I definitely subscribed, keep the videos coming.
Five Minute Social Media - Jerry Potter it’s actually a video on my business page. TBH, none of my post have the options to boost. Does this have anything to do with confirming your identity on your page? I’ve noticed that I have an options to upload drivers license, address, & phone #🤔🤔
Hmmm...It probably is confirming your ID, because videos should be able to be boosted without a problem (as long as it's not a cover video). If it's your page, I'm assuming you're an Admin? You need to have a certain level of access to boost. Finally, if the Boost button is there but is grayed out, if you click on it, it will usually tell you what you need to do to enable boosting.
Five Minute Social Media - Jerry Potter No it’s definitely not a cover video, yes I am the Admin. Weirdly enough I’m not seeing post boost on either my personal or business page. Any other suggestions? 🤷🏾♂️

Jerry what is an Ideal range for Potential Audience Size? Do we want our potential audience number just past the "Too Specific" just into the Green section?
It really depends on your goals and varies a bit for everyone. The only broad advice I can give you is that for most businesses, bigger audiences tend to work better. Whenever someone gets into ads for the first time they get excited about the potential targeting, but there have been several studies that have shown that going a little more broad tends to deliver better results. But like with everything, test it out for your brand.
Depends on what you're doing and what your goals are Tom. I have a restaurant client that generated $4,000 in extra sales from $65 in boosting. If your ideal customer is easy to target, and you have a great offer that appeals to them, it can work great.
😀 If you want to learn more about marketing your business on social media, I send out daily tips to thousands of entrepreneurs. Want in? dailysocialmediatips.com/ And I promise they are really helpful! And the moment they aren't you can quickly unsubscribe.
In most cased you can't do that. The way Facebook sees it, the audience of Likes built by a certain page belongs to that page. For some really big brands though, you can find them as Interests in the targeting.
Nice video, question though - “Your audience is too specific for your ads to be shown” - you kinda breezed past this which seems crucial to the whole thing. If I’m a little coffee shop only wanting to target just those postcodes, Facebook is clearly saying there that my ad won’t be shown because the audience is too small. However you said you can still do it...is this Facebook message a lie and my ad will be shown to that target audience? Is there a minimum audience you HAVE to target for a boosted post/ad to show up on an audience feed?
Sorry for the confusion Jamie. Facebook wants you to spend as much money as possible, but more than that they want your ad campaign to work so you'll buy more ads. Unless it won't let you save the ad, it WILL show it to people in those postcodes. The warning pops up suggesting that if you target a broader audience, you might reach more people for less money. However if you are a coffee shop that people likely won't travel more than a few miles to visit, you have no interest in paying to target people 10 miles away. Does that make sense? If your audience includes people who like coffee, you could remove that and any other interests and just target people by age and postcodes to get a broader audience.
Thank you so much for your help and clarification. I understand Facebook want you to spend more money and will want to give you a shove to do so, but they shouldn’t say your ad won’t be shown when it will. Seems like they are lying. When I was googling around for help, a lot of other people and small business owners had the same question and it’s stopping Facebook making money! Again thanks so much for the help!
I agree, that is frustrating. I think their intent is that if you spend money and it's a bad experience, you'll never spend money again. If you decide to spend money, definitely watch it closely the first week to make sure there is a reachable audience. Good luck!
