Minibike Build: Doodlebug Slam! | Part 1

- We are in the GoPowerSports shop with a Doodlebug Minibike Frame on the table and we are going to SLAM! it. Our Minibike Build Part 1 Journey begins with stripping this frame, weld new gussets and hangers, and send her off to powder coating. This minibike build: has us excited to add the 15" Street Tires and Front Suspension.

Thank you I finnaly figured out the brand of my mini bike now that I see this frame it’s the exact same I’m looking to do what your doing except 10 inch wheels! Plus it’s the original yellow it came in
That's sweet you have a bracket for the hydraulic brake that'll save you a lot of fab time
@Go Power Sports I am in the process of welding in the extended axle plates, what rear axle bolt and spacers did you use???? would be very helpful!
I'm at the same step as you, I ordered the mega moto 80/105 axle and I have to measure and cut my own spacers. Hopefully you made it past this process and it rides great!
I have an old Doodle Bug I was gonna sell for cheap, but after seeing this. I’m definitely rethinking what to do with it

It’s going in line behind my flat track minibike build that I’m working on now. So far I’ve installed a pit bike front end with original triple tree and shocks, 10 inch wheels and tires like the ones that Cars and Cameras used on their build. Mine however is based on a 909 minibike frame. I’m still debating whether or not to put a rear swing arm on it.
Don’t sell it. It’s worth a lot more than what people want to pay

These db30s frames are my jam man. Please manufacture some new ones. The doodlebug (db30s) is the quintessential mini bike. The world is running out, we need more. The Lil Rascal is solid but these fill the void between big wheel and small frame mini bikes.
I was gonna sell mine. So glad I didn’t. Plus people want to low ball you. They don’t realize how rare these guys truly are

My doodlebug is full suspension. I have a swing arm from a pocket bike on my doodle bug. I have y'all's holey gusset kit. I have a kx 100 engine in my doodlebug. She freaking rolls. Very comfortable being full suspension.

Do yall have a kit to put a headlight on the coleman ct200u’s?
I know this video is a few years old, but I was wondering what angle you have the fork tube? I can tell there's more angle than original, and it looks great. I have an old Doodlebug in storage that I'm about to resurrect once I finish my son's Manco Streaker build. I'm definitely going to lower the Doodlebug a bit after seeing how sick your build looks. Great job! Beautiful mini!

What side of the rear axle goes on the sprocket side the short side or the long side one sticks out a little further than the other from the hub I need to know which side is the sprocket side? thanks.
Are there any other ways to make it more comfortable other than replacing the front end for front shocks? When I go over a tiny bump at high speeds it really messes up my back
After you shortened the front shocks, how long are they?
What size rear wheel spacers did you use since you relocated the rear wheel? I’m trying to do the same??

Sweet build! And I usually don't care much for the doodlebugs. I've asked before on fb and didn't get an answer. Will these wheels accept a 5/8 flange bearing? I like the look of the wheel but I don't want to run 12mm axles.
They will not, you would need a lathe to open up the wheel to take a standard bearing. We've tried to shove a bearing into this wheel to make it work, but it's way too tight.

I’ve seen that video. I’m more interested in how you stiffened and lowered the shocks used on the slammed doodle bug build.
Your average Customer Cannot do this, so why not make a kit we can assemble?

You would have to buy in a kit form with the engine separately. Which we can get you the Mega Moto 212 Minibike kit and you pick up your own engine local.
