Hi babes!
here is a different video for you all! This topic was going around social media and I thought it would be interesting to show you all the difference between filming with and without filter! What are your thoughts?
I tried my best to show you the same exact thing on each camera side but man was the editing hard lol but I loved it
tell me down below what type of video do you think is acceptable to watch with a filter? if any? do you like it???
I'd love to know your thoughts!
Thank you for watching!

I don’t care if people use filters to make themselves feel more confident in front of a camera. But it’s misleading when they’re promoting skin care products!
Yes good point
I was wondering why all the foundations I'd get wouldn't work on me. I used to blame myself for having horrible skin. Now I see it's not my fault, it's the lies that most beauty guru's have shown to all of us. I still enjoy watching their videos, thanks for the information and for clearing this up. I didn't knew they used filters.
no problem love! thank you for watching!!
Exactly same here!
Same! I thought my skin was horrible tried every single skin care routine, told myself I just didn’t know how to apply foundation nope was the damn filters so misleading
Most of the high-profile beauty gurus have professional studio set-ups with stage lighting, in addition to lens filters. Notice how none of them ever show viewers how the makeup looks in natural light.
It's like having a professional photoshoot. Nothing ever looks natural. Although I have to admit, even no filter sometimes doesn`t look natural at all ;)
I'm glad you exposed the "filter" it definitely makes it look unrealisticlly softer - that filter is giving women high expectations when buying makeup! No wonder woman feel like crap 25/8 😔
If you use a filter, I think you should be upfront about it. Don’t use a filter whilst reviewing a product, because that can be very misleading if a person is looking to potentially buy the product you’re reviewing.
Thank you for this ....finally!!! It is ok to use filter but when ur doing makeup these girls out here trying achieve a look they see on a tutorial not knowing that they're trying to achieve the unachievable
Girl !! I know. sooo many people use filters I wish more people were aware!
Exactly
@@lovinglifewithjudiHi honey can you please tell me what filter do you use for UA-cam makeup tutorials and what software do you use for editing ♥️
Nikki Tutorials use filters religiously. I used to paused her videos when I see the filters glitched. Her makeup looked patchy and cakey. It's all about looking good on camera, not in real life.
Ashley Hayward really?? Shame, she does have mad skills tho.
Ive seen her in real life and her skin is just as perfect, she is literally known for having good skin, most beauty youtubers will vouch for this. Tati uses a filter though
Ashley Hayward omg and I Felt like my makeup videos are awful just beacuse they dont look such as good as other makeup artist I don’t use filters for them I only use sun light and it makes the resolution of the videos look good but now I do not feel bad at all.
No filter esp if it's someone trying to sell me on somethin...or using a new foundation...like gurl I ain't gonna be walking around in a filter
couldnt agree with you more girl!
I prefer makeup tutorials and reviews not to be filtered. We as the audience want to see how a product actually works, by using filters people are covering up and we wouldn't know if they're being honest about a product
+Jailene Hernandez I complete agree with you girl!
I do not like watching girls put on make up with a filter, I didn't know they used a filter for the longest time an always woundering why I couldn't get my makeup to look that flawless! An when I found out they use a filter I was a bit upset by this because it's faulse advertising an makeing it upsetting for women like me out there who keep trying different products an woundering why there makeup just isn't looking like how the girls in the videos do. As said makeup is not all perfect an if you have flaws on your face at all that those will show threw your makeup a bit no matter what product you use, it's the way it is!
Using beauty filters is misleading and is contributing to a growing mental health issue. Learn how to do makeup better then - DON'T rely on the unethical photo filters. It's like getting liposuction instead of eating properly.
YESSS! i couldn't agree more!!
It’s even worse than getting a lipo instead of eating healthy. It’s like getting lipo and saying you ate healthy and used this supplement to lose weight.
how is make up different? you are still concealing the truth except chemically instead of digitally
Daaang this is super informative!
Thanks boo!
I literally stopped watching makeup videos specifically because I don't know when someone is using a filter and when they are not.
Sometimes its so hard to tell... people should really be honest!
If they have perfect skin, they’re using a filter 😂
Ok here’s my honest opinion. You *don’t* need to use a filter. Real, raw, natural beauty is always better then fake filter beauty. I’m a model and an adult performer. When I post photos I try to keep them as real as possible. Little “flaws” a person has, in my opinion, adds to their beauty. It’s what makes them different from others, it makes them unique in their own way. You’re beautiful. Truly you are. And you, your face, looks great so why hide that greatness with a filter. There’s no need. *You are very beautiful!* Dont hide the real beauty.
wow! I didn't know that such things existed! It's pretty amazing, just a little disturbing to see the difference between the neck and chest to the face.
Such a great video babe, I have similar cameras to these and interchange between the two just like you mentioned. This video needs so many more views it's legit genius lol love your personality subscribed :)
The difference is huge. Thanks for this.
No problem love
That smooth, shiny effect is something I always wanted but could never achieve. Now it makes sense why. I can see how this can mess with people’s self esteem.
Your makeup looks perfect and your face looks smooth even without the filter.
Wow i didn't know about certain cameras having the filter. Great video.
Girl!!! yes lol
Thank you for watching!!
This video was very informative ! Love it!
Just stumbled upon this video because I was watching a couple different beauty gurus videos and noticed there’s this slight blurring over their face. THANK YOU SO MUCH. This video needs a million more views so more people can see beauty gurus for the frauds they are. Your makeup without the filter looked so good and REAL.
cant believe people didnt know about it, it in commercials all the time and in low quality videos it looks good but in crips hd videos it looks you have wrinkles but no pores, it goes with photoshop too, you can see the blur tool all over the face on the photo and they are so confident about it, so cringy
Omg, you can see a HUGE difference when she applied the makeup with filter/no filter lol -
Thanx for this honestly video . Many people including me thinks that its something very wrong with us because we dont look like all the makeup artist even it have there is more and more information now about camera fillters and creams that make you look so much better .
I am very happy that more people like you have start to talk about it and show it . You are very pretty with are without filter and that you are honest make you beautiful
I wish you the best 🌺
Thank you so much for watching! I am so glad I was able to get my message across
Hi, love your videos and I know this is from 2 years ago but I still notice a lot of beauty gurus or influencers use live filters to this day on their channels and they think just because they use a colored screen in the background that no one can tell that they're using a live filter..yes that's true if you don't know what to look for, but I can spot a live filter anyway. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the freckles or beauty marks on someone's face just don't disappear like that! Another way to spot a live filter is when the person is filming with just their normal background like in your video, you can look at the edge of their face and see how it's trying to smooth out everything but the edges seem kinda pixelated and out of focus a little and it glitches a tiny bit and makes the object or a straight line bend a tiny bit..hence why they use a colored background instead cuz it's not as noticeable. It's all good if they use one for just chatting or just doing something other than a makeup tutorial. I think it's so misleading when they use a live filter when they are filming any type of video where they're applying makeup especially when they are promoting products to their viewers and they know their viewers are going to buy the products cuz they trust that person's opinion or because it looks so good on that person and they want to achieve the same outcome themselves. That's where they are sadly disappointed when the product looks like crap on them and they can't understand why when it looked so flawless on the person doing their makeup and that person had acne scars and pimples just like them! I want to see a makeup tutorials with no live filters so I can see if that product is actually doing what it claims to do. I want to see if it covers acne scars or if it makes your pores look blurred or smaller..whatever it is I just want to see it in action up close and all natural with no live filter period! Sadly there are a few just a few gurus or influencers that don't use filters and there should be a lot more. Show your beauty with its flaws because that's who you really are and you shouldn't be ashamed of it. Let your beauty shine girl! I'm here for it and I love it!
😘💕🌹💋💄👁✨
P.S. Sorry my comment was soooo long! 🤗💕
I could see for young girls that this would be discouraging. They think they're not beautiful if their makeup doesn't come out perfect
40IsTheNu20 truth
To be honest just a little editing here and there is fine with me. Juuust a little. Making content is the same like your presentation to the world. If you ask me which one I would prefer in a beauty videos? The non filter one. I've watched beauty videos here and there that were too done up. It didn't gel with me, I don't know why it was. Surely they made it with loads of effort but I don't know...over selling can be an over kill I guess.
+Glenda Siagian so many good points girl! I really agree with you too. You just want to make sure you're being honest with your audience
Indeed
I love these oval makeup pushes too! I bought a set of 10! I use half of them for my mixed media painting 👩🎨🖌🎨 Their perfect for makeup applications!!👌😄💞🌺
Thanks
Good video mam
I m very impressed
Which filter is best for videography and what filters you used in this video
Thank you for your honesty . I see you tubers who have terrible skin and after they make up they look so smooth and perfect . Too good to be true.
Girl yes. Some people really fake it. I'm not perfect. you'll see ALLL my imperfections!
The first time I found out that even such a thing existed as a video filter was from Wayne Goss, and I literally stopped feeling like shit, using a filter and showing people makeup is pretty evil and cruel to do to ones followers I have unsubscribed from gurus that are fake and I can tell they lie and are completely self absorbed and materialistic. Not gonna be making money off of me. Thank you for this video it was so helpful! I am not against filters but for makeup reviews and application it is deceiving and quite pointless to do and a very reasonable reason not to watch those videos. It's 2018 now and the beauty community has only gotten literally more corrupt and sold out. Not to mention completely unrelatable with expensive products, drag queen makeup, layers of makeup for "every day makeup" looks I would never wear on a date even not to mention work... it's a joke.
I love how genuine u r here , this is the first video I have watched from you and u have left an incredible impression on me.
So informative ! I literally wonder why my colors don’t match half of these and now i know :)
Yes girl! it can alter color sometimes too!
I love that you did this
I really love when there's no-filter. Just so much more relatable. I would actually watch channels that market themselves as no-filter because it makes it so much easier for me to apply it to real life.
For makeup the videos should definitely be without a filter. Otherwise it’s misrepresenting the product.
Just wondering how do you know if a camera has a filter im not talking about videos but an actual camera like how do you tell or can u change setting to make it have one
Maaann you looked bomb in both and the same to me! Lol maybe it’s this outside lighting I’m in (on my cell)
Excellent video! I am looking for an iPhone Live video filter so I can film short videos for my clients without putting on makeup, any suggestions?
this is insane!!! i'm always wondering how beauty gurus skin looks flawless.... now I know!!!
I subscribed based upon this video alone!!
Thank you so much!!
Me too xxx
Thank you for doing this video,I would like to see make up tutorials without filter
Do you record with a filter or you put the filter in the editing process?
Hey does it over heat someone said it does and that the battery dies fast ,????
Awesome video and Whao this was 6 years ago
I wonder how addicting these filters have become today in 2023 with the new technology
Thank you for sharing
What filter is good to use?
Is there like any app that I can use to edit like and look good
Woah! Hats off to you for making suck a video while most youtube beauty gurus hide behind a filter and pretend like they have the "perfect" skin.I used to watch skin care routine videos and just wish I had skin like them. I'm sure there are plenty of other people out there like me. This video needs to gain more popularity. Everyone must know that the smooth porcelain skin they see on youtube is fake.
Agree 100% with you. Honestly always wins out.
What do you guys use??
Does it smooth body skin as well?
In my opinion filtered cameras are like normal human vision on a medium-close distance. We don't need to see something on the cameras we won't see in person. I'm so tired of cameras showing what I don't see in the mirror lol!
the problem with filtered beauty videos is that influencers review (or are paid to review) make-up. everything looks extremely flawless and the final result misleads buyers into what I define a scam. "buy this foundation, look at my skin, it's so smooth!" but that's not the product, it's just the damn filter.
This is crazy i never knew can you increase the filter levels in the camera also? and what was this filter called please? I love this video I subbed
such an AWESOME video!
Thank you for watching :)
Please which app u use
Is the filter UA-camrs use built into the camera or an app?
Gained a subscriber. 🌟
To be honest it's hard for me to tell when people use video filters. And listen, I think snapchat filters are fun. And sometimes a good pick me up when you're not feeling your best appearance wise. But when people are promoting products amd skin care while using video filters that is 100% false advertising.
Thank you for this! And goes without being said, you definitely don't need it💖
Thank you so much for your support and watching
Could you share the filter you used in this video? How do I get a filter while I film a video? I love it and I want to use it too ☺️🤗thank you
Thank you for doing this.
I wish I found this video sooner. Thank you!!
Filters for Sony camera ??
Which filter?
your editing is ahmmmazzziinnggg
Thanks boo!!
This is an eye opener for me! Thanks for exposing!
Agreed 100 percent PREACH!!!
Thanks for doing this.
As a portrait photo editor, it makes me cringe whenever I watch "beauty gurus" who use filters like what you showed. It's basically a really good example of what NOT to do when retouching skin on a portrait and I find it so sad that so many people are so used to seeing it that they no longer realize what skin is supposed to look like. Then they look down on themselves for not having "airbrushed" skin. That being said since not everyone has this knowledge about video filters, I believe they shouldn't be used in video product reviews, especially if they "showcase" the performance of the product by showing it on screen and when they are sponsored or affiliated. Then again, it's all about trust in the person that's reviewing. If his/her recommendations work for you and you trust them, then the filter shouldn't be an issue because of your trust in them but for a random viewer just trying to find a legit review of a product, it's very problematic.
yesss good point! I never thought about it going hand and hand with pictures too!
No filter when you're doing makeup! I just feel like these makeup gurus lie so much about what they look like, that's because they're filming with a filter on!!!
Love this video
THANK YOU!!! ✨✨✨
THANK YOU!!🙌🏼
You opened my eyes...
Does your sony a5100 overheats?? And if it doesn’t tell me what you do to stop this please🙏🏻
yes after 20 mins it overheats. its just not meant to film videos for a long time
Hi ! Right now I am trying to get a proper equipment for filming ! I have a ringlight and a camera I am borrowing from a friend. Idk if the ringlght is the problem or the camera. I look terrible in the videos. Its like the lighting is very harsh which makes my skin look harsh. I thought the video might show that I just need a filter camera, but your no-filter video looks great like this! Could it be that I just need a softening lens or other lighting ? The videos I took are giving me the worst insecurities because I really dont look this bad when I look into the mirror lol
Wow!
GOOD FOR YOU! Thank you and do NOT apologize for telling the truth. Wayne Goss agrees with you & has put out at least 1 video debunking the filter issue. Brava!
Thank you for watching!!
and I wanna know how to use filter. please tell me?
I explain it all in the video
Thank you very much
Thank you so much for being honest. I couldn’t understand why any foundation looked so horrible on my face and so flawless on bloggers‘.
What do you mean by „ camera with filter „ and „camera without filter“. Is there such function : turn on filter?
yes with most cameras you have the option on whether you want it on or off.
@@lovinglifewithjudi Thank you so much for the answer. Well, I have Nikon D5100, I guess those cameras don't have this function. .:)
I was always wondering.. i just had thought that only my skin is horrible nd thinked it just waste of money to spend on foundations.
Hey nice video. What kind of filter are you using?
Its built in a camera... Sony a5100
I used to always wonder what that soft glow was in people videos 😩😩 now I know
You have such great skin you don't need a filter? Thanks so much for this video❤
Thank you!! :) I was just showing the difference
Thank you for this video. You just explained to me why I'm not so perfect. :)))
Which lens u r using in sony alpha 5100 camara in this video please reply mam
The original lens that it comes with :)
@@lovinglifewithjudi thanku mam for reply does it focus on product when we shooted a makeup video like blurry background effect love from india 😎😍😘
What lense do you have on the Sony a5100 ?
The Real Tatiana Nicole just the standard one it comes with
This was pretty educational, i always watch beauty tutorials and i stress so much that i cant get my skin that perfect and airbrushed even doing exactly what they do to get their skin airbrushed, seeing now how the filter smoothes the skin... my stress level has gone down quite a bit, i just wish people would be honest about tutorials, if they use a filter, they should say it lol so people like me arent so stressed when i cant get my skin so airbrushed
Its possible to have airbrushed skin if you really take care of it. Like Desi, her skin is reallly the way the camera picks it up. but the normality of that isnt real.
Well i have rosacea and i cannot do anything no matter how hard i try to get rid of it, i do have smooth skin just i can never apply my foundation amazing... because of my rosacea and pores
How to apply a filter to a webcam?
Preach 🙌🏼🙌🏼
This is beauty content which I love
How do you get the filter? x
I explain it in the video
Girl I don’t know if you still check this video, but how do you even get filters like that? Is it something you put on a camera? I have no idea how this works. I’m intrigued. Do they edit the video afterwards and add a filter?
I explain it all in the video. Its something to do with the camera :)
:( this just made me realize almost 80-90% of the big youtubers i watch use filters on they videos........... thats fustrating
yeah some people do. it sucks
First of all, thank you for the honest tutorial! I think it's ok to use filters for many different things. Even makeup tutorials, if you're "showing" how to apply products correctly! It's NOT ok is when you review products, makeup or skincare. That's deceiving. People can watch regular commercials or makeup brand tutorials for that. Influencers need to be honest..!!
What kind of filter do you use on your camera?
in the video I explain its built in the camera..
I think if people want to use filters to make themselves look "better" on camera or in pics, that's fine, but don't try to sell me a product or show me how to do a makeup look while using a filter, bc it's not accurate. It may look pretty on camera, and the makeup may be great in reality, but it won't look the same in reality as it does with a filter, and it's gonna make people waste their money and feel crappy about their makeup skills, skin, etc. Thanks for doing this video. I've seen a couple of other people do these, too, and I really appreciate it.
this is acctually super scary
righhhht lol
Does it overheat
The sony one? Yes! after like 25 mins if you're consistently filming it does. You just turn it off for like a minute or two and you're able to start all over again
to be fair with or without filter you didnt look much different
Yeah maybe but it does show the realness
is the filter a program or piece u attach
I explain it in the video :)
@@lovinglifewithjudi babe cmon I watched it fully im not technological plz just tell me ❤️
