Could you do a video on what to recycle and what to compost? I notice that a lot of people really waste their recyclables because they are not doing it correctly (like washing out bottles before throwing it in the bin) and maybe some recycling hacks? Or some ways to reuse common plastic things?
Yes! But also check your local municipalities’ guide, because what can and can’t be recycled or organic waste (where available) does different between municipalities
I deleted Twitter. Best move ever!!! I was obsessed with ‘keeping up’ and would feel responsible for other people by having to like their tweets and do you know what? It’s fine. The world still turns. Life was so much simpler before social media. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing but just that it should not be the only thing. Hugs x
I am currently going through my own capsule wardrobe! I have slimed it down to about 60ish items for all year round clothing and am going to try to slim it down to 30-40. I am sooo happy you mentioned that tip! I live with my parents and am trying to *slowly and carefully 😅* introduce them to the minimal impact movement. Can't thank you enough for the great videography and tips. Much love from the currently stormy and flooded Metro Manila, Philippines 😘
The tip about going through your cupboard and freezer was really helpful! It's actually just common sense but since I only recently moved out I often feel overwhelmed when it comes to making my own food and buying and storing it. I would love to know what simplified meals you make
Hi there! I've been following your channel for sometime, but as someone who doesn't really take much part in social media I have never commented, and recently that has felt ungrateful of me not to say THANK YOU! I am pretty new in my vegan, zero waste and generally ethical awareness journey, and you and you're channel have helped me tremendously in so many ways, from the informative prespective as well as the motivation and positive outlook you have when it all gets to be kind of too much. I've always been the kind to get overwhelmed by "the big bad world" and have a very all or nothing approach, which I've been trying to change, and you're way of discussing these issues has really helped. Thank you for dedicating your time to these crucial issues, and to helping us do that too. I personally come from outside of the UK or US, and have been having a lot of trouble really finding people and movements locally that discuss these issues, offer places to buy, and I feel kind of at loss at how to figure things out locally, and I am assuming that when you were just starting out you were in a similar position. I also am a little at loss with really understanding how to know where things come from in order to make the right choices. The other day I watched The True Cost, which has been so eye opening, and od course I want to make a change yet I feel like I don't truly know how to do the research leading up to each purchase I make- to find out if it's vegan, fair trade, low impact ect. I was wondering if you have any tips on how to really do that research, find viable information that isn't based only on this blog post or that. Thank you so so much, again. (I know this message is long and I doubted for a long time if you would have any interest in it, but after watching your last video where you mention getting negative feedback, I figured you deserve to get all the thanks I have) One last point- I don't know you personally and won't pretend to, but I want you to know that the very refreshing fact that your videos do not start ever by you stating your name really shows something about your humility. It is beautiful to me. Have a good day (and sorry for the rant- been a long time coming!) Maayan
I love your energy and voice so much. I feel really at ease while watching your videos. It does suit your content as well. Bingewatching your channel right now!
Minimalism, vintage style, sustainability are three things that I met in the past year and that seem to go well together. Thank you and all the people that inspired me and made me learn more ☺
I have really started questioning my purchases recently and it really has helped me reduce the amount of stuff I am purchasing. (although I’ve purchased a load of stuff this month because I’m getting in all of the supplies to make all of my own Christmas presents this year) but more generally I have hugely reduced what I purchase because I now can’t stand having clutter in the house either!
Wow, loads of great suggestions! I've been working on several of those areas and I haven't gotten very far yet, but I'm going to try some of your ideas to see how I do. Loved everything you had to say, thanks! And, on a side note, I'm heading to London in November, with a friend, to celebrate my 60th birthday. Can't wait!
I know you mentioned the app for getting rid of food you don’t need but you can also donate it to a local foodbank. In Canada, I believe they are allowed to give away food that is 6 months passed its ‘best before’ date, obviously the food is still safe to eat. That’s what I do when I find something in my cupboard I know someone else will really appreciate if I donate it!
Great video, really helpful. I think you're right - it's all about building habits, and writing things down helps a lot. Your memory power is only so strong, so writing things down is a great way to follow where you're at
First you're deadly beautiful. Second, thank you for everything you've shared through your videos and contents. Third, I'm grateful to get to know you even tho it's just through the screen
Great tips. I really like the first one about the freezer- I know I'm guilty of throwing stuff in there only to forget about it and throw it out months later! Thanks for making this video :)
I declutterd my phone yesterday and it feels so good! I dont have so many apps on my phone like shopping apps anyway but there was kinda still too much on there. I feel more free when I declutter. I sorted out so many clothes this summer and things in my room. Niggela
Wanted to stop by and say hello from San Diego as well as thank you for introducing me to bagme! I got my bags yesterday and have already put them to good use ☺️
Thank you for another useful and encouraging video! I just love looking at you talk, it's so relaxing and you're so genuine. I have a question about your food: what do you actually keep in your jars? I can think of something like rice, pasta, and flour, but what are other foods that you can put in them? I'm a bit stuck on this because I want to reduce my food waste by buying more of this sort of food, but I don't know how to find out what is available...
In my jars are: green lentils, red lentils, brown rice, quinoa, kidney beans, black beans, soy beans, chia seeds, oats, nutritional yeast, chick pea flour etc so many things! I will be doing a What's in my cupboard video soon!
Sustainably Vegan Awesome, this is so helpful!! And I'm reeeeaally looking forward to that video, that's probably going to help me so much as well! Thank you, I really appreciate it!
That's an interesting point about the shopping apps. Im not into fast fashion, never have been but I do use amazon a lot. I think though that it cuts down on the temptation of mooching round the shops!!
Good advice! I do some of these things already! With my wardrobe I like to go through it and the beginning and end of each season / make updates when needed.
Hey can you do a video or Instagram post on ethical clothing brands which you love and which are affordable? And as you mentioned the food waste app it would be great to hear what other apps are out there to help with a low waste/ethical/minimalist lifestyle. Thanks!! X
Do you think you could spread the word about planting it forward? I saw it on Instagram and loved the idea of it especially since it helps the environment a lot
I'm scrolling through you videos and everything but I need help lol have you done a video or blog on the low waste clothes type thing? (You mentioned it at the end of this video)
Hey there For a long time I look your Videos and i love them. So much inspiering and you go more and more into professionel videos. I am always happy about new tips from you. You are a so young but so much inspiering and helpfull for growing ideas that needs help to go from idea to knowledge ( sorry for my bad English, i am gooing to mr 50. year and i used my english long time ago 😵) If i had a wish to see from you, i would like to see more of your sporty habbits. Against backpain, yoga, stressless and mind relaxing tipps. But also i love about what are you eating in a week, an where you are shopping on a market !? Thank you and best wishes from Germany, i.k.
i'm not completely sure - but i know that they don't treat the workers in the UK well at all who do packing and deliveries etc, are really badly paid and really poorly treated. also tax evasion etc. so probably not great! but unfortunately soooo convenient :(
I think decluttering my wardrobe was the first and best thing I ever did. I have exactly 1 wk and 1 days worth of clothing, and honestly...I have never felt better about it. Not only that, but it decreases the amount of laundry I need to do as well. Which means less electricity and less water consumption. WIN WIN WIN lol
scary muffin maybe I am the same, I really love clothes if you took those clothes to a charity shop when you have finished with them maybe that would help you out :) That way at least you're giving something back, there are also amazing programs that give old clothes to people who need clothes around the world ( I've seen drop off points for these at tkmaxx and m&s) Hope that helps!
scary muffin that's so good! I live just outside of London and the big thing here is taking your clothes to companies that pay you per pound of textile but I couldn't tell you what they do with them! I'd always rather my clothes went to someone else to enjoy especially when they're in perfect condition
scary muffin So buy second hand. :) It's cheaper and there's a more interesting variety available. Goodwill, Savers, Plato's Closet, Clothes Mentor, etc. Redonate there when you're tired of them.
