1.You need oil to produce solar panels... and toxic chemicals and minerals.
2. Most energy is wasted.
3. The technology is bad.
4. Solar panels cause a lot more pollution when thrown away.

Unfortunately most steam engines use coal to power them which has it's negative impacts on nature
They shouldn't be accused of pollution , they are a big source of air pollution

yes traditional steam trains fired with coal have high pollution level but if the fuel can be changed then it might still be an eco friendly way of preserving old trains
