People actually want to see cruelty" as if he was talking to the audience. Cruelty and gore is part of why we enjoy this show, not the only thing of course, but it wouldn't be the same without it. All eldians can turn into pure (mindless) titans, and there are 9 titan shifters. When a pure titan eats one of the 9, they inherit that power. You will gain the power but looks very from person to person.
