You are assuming that to be born again means turning a new leaf of life, Repenting of all your sins, living a better life, etc. But that's not what the Bible says to be born again. According to the Scripture born again means to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The moment you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you are a new creature in Christ. You are born into the family of God. God had imputed his righteousness on you. 2 Corinthians 5:21.
