I remember this vividly. This was a brutal rivalry. Hogan's gear was awesome. Slaughter was an absolutely phenomenal "heel." Great Match to top off a great feud.

Slaughter was loved in America, with his 'pledge of allegiance' thing, but Hogan's 'Say your prayers and eat your vitamins' would have more worldwide appeal. Plus I think Hogan appealed more to female fans.

No, it sucked, you were just at an age when this was all new to you&you were the most impressionable. I was 17, and this whole feud was so boring, stupid and pointless, and the matches all sucked. 40+y old Sgt Slaughter, winning the title as the "Iraqi sympathizer", get the f* out of here. "Match made in hell" with f'n 50y old Iron Sheik and this manager dude. Holy sh*. How can you book this crap. Instead of just Hogan vs Warrior II.

So you come here and bash people for liking this match and that era, saying they like it only because they were 10 at the time, and then you say "I was 17" and blablablablabla. So you didn't like it just because you were 17? Uh? You use other people's age and use it against them, before mentioning your own age as one reason as to why you hated the product at the time. WHAT A MESS, such an awful comment dude. Anyway that's just your meaningless opinion, plenty of people enjoyed that era and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them or their taste in wrestling. Are you still in that rebellious 17 years old phase?

@@jonathanturbide2232 I don't hate this era at all. The time I am equally emotional about is anything from the Piper-Hogan-feud to the "Megapowers Explosion". But you have to be aware that you look with nostalgia at all those things that meant the world to you in your childhood. And when Slaughter turned into the "Iraqi sympathizer" I almost felt embarrassed of being a wrestling fan. It was not believable, it came out of nowhere, it was poorly executed and the matches were mediocre at best. That's all
