I enjoyed watching your vid and lots of useful info in there.I have bought some ricefish so all info is useful to me.One small point about your vid though which made me smile. In English the plural of fry is still fry and not fries .A word which you use alot.Fries are thin potato chips.
really😂😂
Thank you for your helpful comment😂✨
I don't want to breed fries but want to eat fries😂
Thank you for letting me know!
I just stumbled upon your channel. It is amazing. I am currently trying to raise my first medakas after getting some platinum medakas a few weeks ago. One week ago the first ones hatched.
Your videos are very informative and you seem so kind! Looking forward to more videos and hopefully I can buy some special medakas from you some day in the future!
I wish you all the best on your journey ❤

My fry always die. This was very helpful thank you 🙏🏼
I am glad to hear that!
Please show me your medaka when you succeed in hatching!!👍
Great video. You are so knowledgeable about rice fish. I think the best resource I've found so far. Could you do a video on what methods you use to make green water and grow daphnia, etc.?
Oh!!!
Thank you for your kind words😭✨
I understand!👍
I may be going to share the information☺️
@@Medaka_Momijii agree! how to make green water video would be very helpful
I, too, am interested in how others make green water.
So far, I've been using what happens naturally in buckets outside, most helped along by my ducks.
I just bought 6 Platinum Medaka fish, 3 female and 3 male. After one day I already see eggs and have created 2 green scourer pad spawning mops but I also have a few plants in adults tank so I have no idea where they have rubbed the eggs off. I just subscribed to your channel for the best information. Thankyou so much. Lisa…Perth West Australia 🩵🙏🏻🐟
Oh!!!
Welcome to medaka world🤗✨
I think spanwning mops works👍
Thank you so much for your motivating words😢
Great video, thank you!😊

I have a question…one of my orange medaka has eggs attached and I moved her into a mesh breeder box and put a spawning mop in there…she has been in there all day but she won’t deposit the eggs onto the spawning mop. I tried gently brushing the mop against the side of her body but the eggs are still stuck to her and I am afraid I might hurt her if I brush too hard. Any suggestions?
Sorry for late💦
How's she now??
Is she still holding eggs??
@@Medaka_Momiji No problem! Eventually I moved her back into the main aquarium and she deposited her eggs on a plant. I was able to collect those eggs and put them into the mesh breeder box and they just hatched. 😊 I have Hikari First Bites and hope they do well with that food. Thank you for sharing information about medaka - they are such beautiful fish!
thanks for all the tips. i have a question though, when transfering fry to a larger container when they hatched, we need to acclimate them first right?
yes!
when you transfer, you need to evenly acclimate water temperature and water quality👍
@@Medaka_Momiji thank you! appreciate the reply. hope to see more medaka content from you 🫶🏻
@@afifahzulkefli2647 Thank you😁
please look forward to it!!
I thought you have to frequently change the water for young fry because of the growth hormones they excrete? I succesfully raised many fry with water changes every other day.
Oh, do you change water within first two weeks?
after first two weeks, I change the water.
but, yes.
I think frequent water change could work even within first two weeks👍
I have just shared my thought but every breeders or medaka keepers has their own philosophy
Yeah this is where I got confused. I saw another channel saying you need to change water every day.
@@rhyswilliams7866 The reason why I suggest not changing the water for first two weeks is that medaka fry is relatively weak about water change. but, not all of fry are weak.
Of course, it's better to change the water everyday from the viewpoint of water quality.
and of course, from point of weakness of a fry, it's better not to change water for first two weeks.
Since water conditions vary depending on each country,In some cases, it might be better to change the water daily🤔
@@rhyswilliams7866 the way to breed medaka vary depending on breeders even in Japan.
So, I suggest that you will try lots of way to breed them and find best way!
I would like to help you as much as I possible😁✨
Where can I get paramecium in Japan? :O
I think you can get online shop or so!
are you planning to come to Japan?😁
@@Medaka_Momiji I've been living in Japan for a few years but I'm not familiar with the shops here! Thanks for the answer!
@@unixtreme Oh!!
I see☺️
you can buy online😊
