- my denix mp41 aged etc project complete with maybe a tweak here and there...also guest starring finnish ww2 helmet.....just watched it and the wood looks really red....it doesn't look like that in real life

The weapon looks awesome Stan mate !! ..you have done a top job !! ..it looks wonderful.. really well weathered look ! I would leave it just as it is !! The Denix products are truly amazing !! I love my luger long barrel and regularly wave it around at the local post office to get to the front of the queue !! 😂😂

That looks good to me, Stan, very convincing on camera. Not widely used model, featured in Police units and anti partisan militia , Schuma , etc. Never seen one in real life, so many thanks for the views and close ups. All the best!
Cheers Johnny...it actually looks a bit more subtle in real life but overall I'm quite happy with it...a deac one would be ££££'s, so a denix is a good stand in. Yeh I've heard from other people and read that it was mainly ss and police units. I have a repro para helmet but nothing else or any ss stuff so I'm going to use it for a Russian auxiliary maybe POA as I've got a tunic with that patch on...I will get something set up either way, thanks Johnny m8 🙂🙂

There's great stuff movie prop masters use called dirty down for aging stuff.

Just cut down an ordinary kitchen pad sponge to size and stuff it down the breech. Nice wall hanger. The MP41 was mainly used by Waffen SS and special police units. Not used much by the Wehrmacht, though some were supplied to the Romanian army.
Cheers Al, yeh good idea...yes just a wall hanger🙂. Yeh I hear you regarding its usage...I'm going to put it on a Russian auxiliary type display simply because I don't have any ss or police kit. It will look OK I reckon cheers 🙂

Nice improvements Stan I like what you did to where the soldier grips the weapon. I'm going to do that to the M1. I've been reading in to that an original m1 rifle butt plate will fit the denix so I've ordered one and I'm going to attempt to drill out the holes so that the oiler and cleaning kit will go in.
Good idea Chris regarding the buttplate. I look at photos online of real ones and try to mimic the wear or stains...the mp41 looks less red and black in real life...more subtle...I will probably stain the wood again, cheers chris
Use a spade bit to drill out the hole.
The hole in my SLR butt is about 20mm in diameter if that helps!
