Dell XPS 9730 or Precision 5530 with Windows 10 has this code. The laptop is working ok just the Caps Lock light is not working and the Power Button light is not working too.
This does not work for me. I get the 2/7 LCD error, screen won't turn on or display anything - but it will do the colour check of I press and hold D. I can get into the bios from thunderbolt to HDMI adapter, but the laptop automatically powers down after 3 led error display cycles no matter what I change in the bios. Screen has been working perfectly no problem until today. I wonder if it's because I updated the bios 2 days ago, but laptop won't stay on for me to attempt to downgrade. I'm stuck 😭
@@AdityaManickam Hi Aditya. I took it to Dell service center. They said it was the problem with the motherboard and I knew they were lying as my system's screen used to go black when I opened the lid too much but eventually it started going black all the time. I knew it was the problem with the screen or the cable. I asked them to return my laptop and took it to other repair center. He replaced the cable and now everything is fine.
I'm pretty sure I found that 2 amber and 7 white codes, were LCD failure (from a Dell forum) which is exactly what I'm dealing with right now, I have a white-ish bezel all around my screen really near to the monitor edges so I'm guessing it's literally a matter of time for it to completely fail.
This workaround is for the situation when the laptop screen is working. More than 1 year ago we had 4 brand new precision 7930 laptops with this problem . Dell Pro support couldn't fix them so they want to exchange them. After they exchange one of them same problem. I tried a lot of articles at that time with no luck until when by mistake I discover this work around. The laptops are working fine now.
If you see display this settings work or else remove ext devices shut down sys press power button for 10 secs and check if display comes or else contact dell support where for 2 7 pattern the lcd cable would be replaced.
Here's a weird experience; I checked the options shown in the video. They were correct. I didn't change a thing, but only opened them up for viewing. That alone fixed my 2/7 signal.
Thank you very much for the tip. I encountered this issue yesterday on my Inspiron 7591. That caused by unplugging the HDMI cable in my case. Maybe some display connector short happened and laptop was giving me LCD error code although it was functioning properly except for the caps lock key light was on even if caps lock was off. So after watching your video, I turned off secure boot (mine was already on) and powered on the laptop. shut it down again, and turned on secure boot... Voila! the false error code was gone. Thanks man!
with your soft voice and excessive background noise (fans?), I'm having a hard time understanding what you are saying. Also the camera needs to move in close to the menus and held still so I can read them. Any chance you can write down a procedure?
that is wrong step my friend 1. update one level of bios version 2. update your intel mgmgt chipset 3. update device chipset 4. update your card reader chipsets 5. update thunderbolt driver once done , restart the machine , all is good. dell laptop known as embedded components , old bios version is not able to detect , so dont change any setting on bios.

Thanks Dude, saved having to send in, reformat, reinstall, etc. etc. Very Helpful.
My screen just shows vertical lines across the screen . This really worked for you?
