You and Austin can save them rooms for new additions meaning “KIDDOS!” You 2 would make very very very very very adorable babies….. So get crackin’ lack in’!
Series name idea: Midcentury Treehouse. It would be so cool have a theatre space down in the basement! This house is so beautiful and I can see why you guys picked it! Congrats, can't wait to see the journey of you upgrading it!
Came here to also comment this! I think that pass through room would make the best cozy theatre chill room for movie nights with friends - snack bar included!
In my minds eye, I pictured a pool table or an air hockey table and old school pinball machines and maybe even a skee ball machine with a bar and a juke box and, and, and :)
The pass through room in the guest area could be made into a cozy spot for guests to relax if everyone is done hanging out for the night but they’re not ready for bed - a cozy couch, maybe a fold out desk of some kind in case they need a space to work… that way they don’t have to feel awkward about using your spaces since it’s already made for them. Makes for a lovely hospitality suite!
Omg yes!! And maybe they could also set up a little coffee station with a mini fridge for snacks, so that is their guests feel like making a drink or having a little snack they don't have to go upstairs. A nice reading nook would look cool, too!
You could make that pass through room a full on library with floor to ceiling books and cozy moody lighting. Or maybe put built in cabinets for DIY supplies and other storage...also, GREAT HOUSE! It's absolutely beautiful and the potential is amazing. Can't wait to see what you do. Congrats!!
I just love Austin. He's adorable and supportive and it's so nice to watch that - Becky: "I'm thinking this is where the gallery wall could go", Austin: "Oooh, that could be fun!" Like, come on you guys 🥺 And omg, that Magnolia tree is going to look GORGEOUS on your porch come spring!! Congrats on the new house!
I actually find it very refreshing to see UA-camrs move into a 'realistic' house that has work to it because not everyone has the option to buy a fully finished villa ... Very excited to see what you guys are going to do with the house and how you're going to do it! 🥰
You should check out MacKenna!!! She bought a house almost a year ago and if you go through her vlog channel AND her main then you get this amazing story and so much thrift shopping!!!
@@CrashingDownLovely Yes!! MaCenna is such an awesome UA-cam and puts a lot of effort into restoring things from her 110 year old house (like the beautiful hardwood floors) and making sure its history and character isn't lost. She deserves more praise for doing so much on her own and being such a great person so I highly highly suggest you check her out :)
It would be very cool to see a team TSG competition of sorts where like Style Selected, there are two designs but unlike SS, they actually do the makeover and surprise you at the end. Maybe team Kelsey vs. Team Rachel? And they could each take one of the guest rooms since those tend to be less highly personalized.
“That 70s House” or “Reviving the Vibe” ✨I love the ideas on here of windowless room being a library/games/music area. The basement a movie theatre for sure. I’m stumped on the 3 guest rooms because you’d obviously want to hang in the other more bright spacious areas for lounging! This is going to be so fun to watch!! Congrats.
This house is so overwhelmingly enormous that I wouldn't know what to do with half of that space! I hope you have fun on this exciting journey with the house c:
I’m not a big media room person but a windowless room is a good place to make into a cozy movie room. Dark and moody. I feel like the name “My mid century Dream life” is a pretty good name. LOVE THE HOUSE!!! Congratulations!
That pass through room when you enter the guest suit could be suchhhhh a great spot for wall-to-wall floor to ceiling bookshelves and a super cozy zen library vibe! This house is stunning, it suits you perfectly! Congrats :))
With all those spare rooms, and you being such a crafty queen, it would make sense to make one a crafting room! You could have a whole space for creative vibes and a place to keep all your crafting supplies. Also, really love the idea of making the basement a giant theatre room! You could make it all retro movie theatre inspired and have amazing movie/tv binge watching nights. Congrats on the new house, I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you guys do with it :)
Yes, I thought this too! An art studio! And isn’t Austin a musician? The basement theater space could double as a music/jamming studio. And still plenty of room left for kiddos if that’s part of the plan! I freaking love this house
On the windowless room it would be cool to have a common room for the guests. Since it leads to the guest rooms. With a tv maybe a snack bar. Comfy seating etc! Love your new home Becky! ❤
Basement idea would be like a funky 70s bar/ movie room similar to the Airbnb you guys did. Can’t wait to see you add more MCM touches like new lights!
A movie room in the windowless room would be so cool and a games/ club room downstairs! The vibes of this space are incredible I love it and love the sustainable approach 🙌 I can't wait to see you make it over 🤍
@@flamingo1493 I have an Interior Design business in the North East England (where space is very limited! ) and we have done some amazing movie rooms you get to think more creatively about a space and its design and it can feel much cosier and more intimate, then the games/ club room can have a projector and more seating for watching big games or movies with more people 😊
you could make the windowless room into a minimal kitchen area for guests in case they want to get up and do their morning coffee or breakfasts or something without coming upstairs to the main area? [Edit: P.S. I forgot to say the upstairs is already gorgeous, and has come close to achieving your vision of mid-century/70s style! Fantastic! And best wishes to you and Austin and Danny: may you have many happy years together in your new paradise home]
Good idea. I would definitely design it so that it tricks me and gives me the illusion of being connected to the outside, so i.e. a photo-wallpaper even if that might be a bit corny.
This mini kitchen idea is great - don’t know what your future family plan is with that 4 bedroom house, but a kitchenette close to bedrooms is convenient for warming midnight bottles when your main kitchen is so far from the bedrooms… just saying 😊. And definitely give it some biophilic design to offset the lack of window.
Such a good and practical idea to make a kitchenette here. Guests would get a lot of use out of that. You would make it look amazing with retro appliances and a coffee bar aesthetic. The movie/game room idea is good too, but that could work in the basement. Why not have both!
The windowless space could have a small kitchen space for drinks so you or guests don't have to walk the stairs up for a waking-up-midnight-dying-of-thirst, or if you design the basement to be like an entertainment or gym room it would also be practical to have a small kitchen for snacks and drinks nearby!! Really lovely house, can't wait to see all the reno-videos!
Literally physically dropped what I was doing onto the floor out of excitement to click I don’t think I’ve ever been so vicariously excited about someone else’s house lol
@@TheSorryGirls every time I’ve been thrifting/antiquing for my own house lately I find stuff and go “wow this would be perfect for Becky’s new house I should text her a pic” and then I remember I do not actually know Becky and live 700 miles away- the parasocial decor hunting is real 😂😂
First, great score on the string bookshelves. They are perfect for that spot. I think you could make the windowless room into your big closet and use the smaller closet in your bedroom for a rotating 'capsule wardrobe' type set up. My vote for a series name is 'That 70s House'
Oh my goodness what a beautiful home, literally a dream! Congratulations :) For the area with the 3 spare rooms and random room above it I think I’d make it some sort of chill space, zen yoga area, or movie room maybe with a fake secret door down to the rooms and make it a hobbit hole! I’d make it one giant room and have a pool table and record player and jukebox, all the fun goodies!
The downstairs pass between room could be a good at home gym area. And you could use the big closet in that room to store your off season clothing. I love the vibes of the new house! Totally fits you guys perfectly! And you could call the series “home is where the heart is” lol.
I think passing through the gym isn’t ideal. Maybe in 1 of the 3 guest rooms. Butttt the way she said “future uses” about those three rooms makes me think guest rooms and future kids. So idk. I think even the basement is a better gym space. It’s not the most aesthetic to have to regularly walk through
I think I'd want to make the windowless room a beautiful storage area. That way you don't have to go into the basement if you need things and it's all a bit more accessible. The basement can then be dedicated to something entirely different like a speakeasy
I am SO excited to see what you do with this space! For your ensuite bathroom I would evaluate if there are any walls you can move and address the bathroom and closet situation at the same time. You may get a better functioning bathroom layout and closet area if you look at that square-footage as a whole. As for the random bonus space with no windows - that could be a cozy movie area or you could make it a sort of landing area for your guest. You could put a little kitchenette area and sitting spot for coffee, a small fridge for drinks, add extra pillows, blankets, toothpaste, etc. If you add a little bistro table it could be a great independent space for guests!
Yes I agree with making it a space for the guests! A mini kitchenette with a table would be perfect. And totally agree with using the bathroom square footage for more closet space. These are great ideas!
I was thinking of that kind of space for guests, too! This house is so beautiful, and so is the area. I'm excited for you and Austin and Dany. Enjoy your new adventures!
I love that even though you’ve tried out all different kinds of trends you are still true to your own personal style and instead of copy pasting what’s in, you use it as inspiration to add onto your style xxx
House is amazing and i can't wait to see how will you finish it! The room without windows would be great place for home cinema. You need projector, some nice chairs and its awesome place to just vibe in!
Idea for the windowless room - You could close off the room, creating a sort of hallway to access the guest rooms and make a walk in closet because you mentioned needing closet solutions. Or keep it open and do a built-in clothing storage (ikea pax or similar) on the back and side walls and treat it as sort of a dressing room. Congratulations it is beautiful ! 😊
The house just kept going!! I’ve never been so excited for a series before😍 Congrats on the beautiful space! I cannot wait to see you guys make this house a home!
So beautiful!! The upstairs 100% gives me dream treehouse vibes. I’ve never liked the all neutral, all white style that has been popular for ages now. But all this wood with the warm, happy colors 😍😍😍 You’re speaking my language! Project-wise, I think you should strip the paint off the live edge siding in your office and stain it instead. Let the woods grain breathe! Or at least lighten the color of it, cuz it’s hard to see all the cool live edge-ness.
Your style needs space and I am so exited this house is the perfect place to offer it while bringing a lot of character itself to the mix. Congratulations to your new home!
Just had to stop the video and comment. When you said "our whole lives are in there" (the U-Haul) and Austin replied "Danni's not in there" - he is an absolute keeper. Precious. 💜
This house is so huge! I think each guest room should have its own theme room. And that small space should be a sitting lounge with funky art and light like an art room. So dope. I can’t wait to see more.
So excited for new house decor series! As requested, here are some ideas ;) - Can you make a window in that awkward hallway room going to the guest quarters? If possible, do it! getting a window put in is not that difficult, we did it ourselves in our own house (with zero experience). It can be a great office space. Guest bedrooms - maybe a fun colour theme? each a different retro inspired colour. I would make the current dining room into an office personally - beautiful views and light. The extension bit can be part dining, part game/music room, or it can also be a 'formal' living room (eg. without tv) depends what you want to use the space for. Ample design opportunities! very happy for you guys
I love the amount of research you went into in order to really capitalize on all of the conceptual aspects you wanted to incorporate in your new home. This is such a critical part of design that I witness getting missed; it's a make-or-break part of design that I am so grateful for contemporary designers including as a part of their design process. Love the new home, and I am beyond excited to see what you do with it! Congratulations Becky and Austin!
I love this house! Pass through room could be a cozy little library and game storage where guests can find something to read, and take it back to their room. Reviving House = name suggestion.
This was a thought I had when I saw this room too!! I see it being dark academia/mid century vibes. Dim lights, cozy chairs or a couch. Lots of books. Velvet somewhere too. 😍😍
this house is HUGE !!!! congrats becky!!! would love to see the 3 guest rooms be transformed into the rooms youve seen during your abandoned mid century house tours !!!! the funky wallpapers and all!
I would suggest a kitchenette for the weird pass through room. If you have THREE guest rooms, it makes sense to have a fridge, microwave, hot plate, kettle, etc. for them to use to make themselves breakfast/coffee before the rest of the house wakes up. Or to store leftovers for meals from a dinner outing.
The basement would make a great man cave for hubby. The windowless room would make a nice room for guests to relax. You could have a mini fridge, sofa, checker game for a coffee table. Turn one room into a large walk in closet just for you. You could glam it up! You probaby have room for a workout room somewhere.
What an incredible house. Congrats Becky, Austin & Danny! I think the pass through room could be set up as a music corner maybe? or a bar/kitchenette for guests? This series could be called Forever Home or if you wanted something different from Kelsey's series - " Dream Pad Makeover" Can't wait for whatever you decide ❤️
That wrap around porch is my fav part I think, but I’m so partial to having a view of greenery and nature. I also love the living room, very your style so I’m super happy for you guys to have found such a cool space. That master bath definitely needs a complete redo and I’m excited to see what you end up doing there and with the rest of the house. I’m glad Danny has such a big yard to run around too. I vote with someone’s series name of Midcentury Treehouse.
Love the house! So many possibilities. For the pass-through room before you get to the guest rooms, you could make it into a little guest convenience area. Put a coffee maker or Kureg, a mini frig with drinks, maybe a water cooler, and a cabinet with supplies for the coffee, snacks, hot cocoa, tea, cups, etc. Maybe even a retro candy dispenser or something. You could put area info, brochures, local magazines, books about the area, etc. for your guests. Have fun in your new home!
Becky, I grew up in a genuine Eichler, from 1964 (age 12) to 1973 (age 21). Redwood walls, stained wood ceilings w huge, authentic wood beams, clerestory windows, throughout home, one side tilted-up, "flat roof", semi-cantilevered. Radiant heating under cork, cream nylon, wall to wall carpeting. Linoleum in baths + kitchen. Slab redwood interior doors w flush reveal jambs, no baseboard -- flush 1/2" reveals at bottom of walls. Sliding, painted Masonite doors on kitchen cabinets, white painted brick fireplaces, slightly raised hearth. Cabinet carcasses in taupe + palest blue speckled spray paint finish. Entire back + side walls of plate glass & sliding glass doors. One car garage. Glorious mature pine trees, California poppies (my doing), red infertle plum trees. Entry door w side light + huge, tall glass trapezoid plate glass transom. Entry door inside an integral carport, exterior vertical wood clad, board + batten, all exteriors including carport. Rough, grapestake fencing. Color of paint on exterior: Charcoal. I guess you just don't forget growing up in an icon. Loved it so.
The room near your bedroom, the one with no windows should be your walk - in closet. Or you can expand you ensuite bathroom and add a tub with jets. You could also make that windowless room the laundry room. It looks like it's near the bathroom, so the plumbing is accessible. Those are the thoughts I had during the tour. I have to say that the house looks smaller from the outside. It quite a big house with enough space for children if you decide to have any. The basement would make a great playroom and a large back yard.
Ideas for extra rooms: music room for instruments and listening to records, game room with a table and library of games, a crafting room, a mud room for storing outdoor gear like snowboards, skis, golf clubs, etc, sauna, a library. Have fun with it and be creative, there’s so much space in that house, you could really go over the top!
I love your style so much!. I would probably turn the windowless room into some sort of mud room for coats and things since it is sort of near the laundry and bathroom. I'd probably move my office downstairs to one of the smaller rooms so that I can keep my upper floor solely for entertaining. That second big room on top floor would become a dance studio/library/music room Like a second space where you can be cosy near the real fire and read a book.
I thought that at first as well, but then I asked myself, "Would I want to move my office to the windowless downstairs room to work from?" If I had a view like that, I'd want my office upstairs, too! (SAD-sufferer here).
@@aimsly86 So I was thinking of using one of the bedrooms as the office. Maybe the one where she had the air mattresses. It looked to be the perfect size for a nice office It had good light and a big window.
That basement could be an amazing workshop/studio space. You could also make it multi-purpose, since it is large and appears to have "separate" areas. For instance, if you wanted a larger laundry room/space, you could move that to the basement (alongside the workshop/studio etc.) and convert the old laundry room to a powder room, walk-in closet etc. ... Whatever you need! Incredible home overall and I'm excited to see what you and Austin do with it ... Congratulations to you both!
Ideas: Floor to ceiling cabinets in the master bedroom, tiny room great for a library or storage for your business (ie. decor) or a DIY workroom, movie room, home gym. It really depends on how you live. Don't rush anything. Do the easy and certain stuff first and live in the space before making any big decisions on space use. There is no pressure. It's your space to love and enjoy!
That “walk through” room by your bedroom would make a convenient nursery because….1) no windows mean no light, noise or security issues. 2) the room and closet is all you need and you can add a pretend window for decorative purposes and still have control of the lighting situation. 3) adding a doorway to the room creates it’s own area while providing a path to the rest of the rooms on that level!!! If you’re not planning on kids, it would make a perfect movie theater room!! Just thoughts!!! Congrats on the beautiful new home!!! Sending much love from Ohio❤❤❤
I would make the pass through area a little mini living room so your guests have a space to chill before they go to bed if they don't want to hang out in the main living room. I would love that as a guest haha. Or maybe a little game area or bar space for them to hang? Idk, hard decision!
Austin's "dad side" really comes out in his jokes when he is specifically helping you build something and I love it. You twos dynamic reminds me of my parents dynamic and it's the sweetest thing to me. My parents have been married 35 years and they still joke and laugh and play like y'all do. I can see that being you two as well in 30+ years 💜
Kelsey's series was named 'Making Home', so in true mid-century/70's style you and Austin are now 'Creating Our Crib'. Congrats to you both, absolutely beautiful property. So jealous of those ceilings 😍
Here’s how I would renovate - Top floor: Living room, kitchen, dining, bar, office Middle floor: Master-bedroom Child 1’s bedroom Child 2’s bedroom Guest Bedroom Common Study Area + library for children Basement: Wine cellar Multipurpose hall for Gymming, gaming & karaoke
Series name: Cottage conversion - with a possibility to add further cute adjectives. Crazy cottage conversion. Crafty cottage conversion. ect. For the extra space near the guest room: it could be a little seating area for guests. When people stay over you'll hang out a lot ofcourse, but the option to just hang out on your own a bit and not in the bedroom is gold (and opportunity to create a second livingroom/study). It could be a space for hobbies too (seeing all that storage).
Pass thru room: media room?! A black out room to watch movies in or play music. Or kind of like lonefox’s ‘horror movie’ room space in his apartment, with a speakeasy vibe? you could do a hidden door into the room or something! Would be a fun surprise for guests since it’s on the way to the guest rooms
OMG THE KITCHEN BACKSPLASH🤣it haunts you Becky hahaha LOVE the house and I love love loveee your plan for it. Can't wait to see how it turns out 🥰 So happy for you!
if you guys decide to have kids the pass through room would be a good little play room if that guest wing becomes the kids quarters. HOWEVER!!!!! i think a cool idea would be a movie theatre. that pas through room has no windows so it can get perfectly dark, and with the right comfort and projector i think it would be really cozy and viby and perfect for in home date nights
as a psych major im OBSESSED with biophilic design and the idea of building with and around nature. there are also so many mental health benefits to this design concept!!!
That pass through room would make such a cozy like “listening room” for records or like a little library area, or even a tiny gallery type room?? Or cocktail lounge? Just a vibey cozy vintage nook full of art, book, music, cozy seating etc. a place to show off collectibles or watch movies or just chill. You could even add a faux skylight or something?? Idk but I could see it being really great !
I'm not even moving to this house but I am just so excited. I think that pass through area before the guest rooms should be a movie room, maybe add a projector, some bean bags, popcorn maker or some statement piece like that. No windows would be good for movies ya know. That way you and your guests can use it!
This house is INCREDIBLE and so YOU guys' vibes ! I think the bonus room could be a sort of lounge/common room for the guests, with nice seating, some books, board games, etc. And if you ever want kids in the future, this would be a great playroom, next to their bedrooms ! I can't wait to see what you do with this gorgeous home 💖💕
The pass-thru to the guest room could be a GREAT video editing or work alcove. Sometimes guests actually need to do a couple of hours of work while they are traveling and a small desk setup could be super helpful! LOVE the place and can’t wait to see what you will do with your ingenuity and lovely sense of style.
Idea: The room in between your bedroom and guest rooms in the downstairs could be like a nighttime decompress/chill space and a little cozy space to have late night talks with guests. Like a lounge/yoga space. Very cozy and calm.
magnolia trees are so special, i miss the one we had in my front yard growing up but i don't envy the petal clean up. The empty room in the basement could maybe be made into a place for storage and maybe a kitchenette for your guests?
What an amazing house! Can't wait to follow the proces! You should totally use one of the guest rooms to make an entire doggy room for Danny. Would be so cute!
Have you considered making one of the spare rooms a walk in wardrobe? I think that would be a great way to utilise the space and not sacrifice the big open bedroom!😊
That was my thought exactly. They could do a whole closet system in there with built-in shelves, drawers, etc. I've seen others do this when they didn't need all the bedrooms in their house and it came out great.
Current couch area into dining area. Current dining area into breakfast nook/booth. Doorway to area with your desk opened up (not much so you can keep your very cool new shelving) and turned into the couch/tv area. The windowless room downstairs is screaming for a dark, moody speakeasy/library nook that your guests could hang in when staying over. Very cool house guys... Can't wait to see how you grow into it!
I don’t know how much of a reader you are but I know I would be turning one of those rooms into a library/office. I’m pretty excited about this series! I have LOVED making a home so excited to see what you create!
I was obsessed with your previous home and sad to see you move after you worked so hard on it. Literally a dream home but seeing your new home makes me excited. I can’t wait to see what you do with it ❤
I can't wait to see the house a year from now when it's even more infused with your vision! It's stunning already but it's going to be sooo amazing we already know
I have two ideas for the pass-through room. You could turn it into a mini kitchen/bar for guests with a coffee maker and mini fridge. Or, what I would do, close off that wall so it's just a hallway to the guest suite and turn that room into your walk-in closet! It looks like there's maybe a linen closet in the hall that could turn into the door.
Hi Becky! What an amazing home - that main floor is absolutely stunning! I'm sure we'd all love to know more about the how and the why of moving - what made you want or need to move out of your old place, and like... how are y'all affording this? This millennial downtown-TO apartment dweller needs to know. ❤
i feel like i just went into my grandparents' house for a much memorable vacation (that's how homey the new house is to me) it also felt like i'm part of becky, austin and danny's family now 😄 looking forward to many more decorations to happen!
LOVE your new home! ❤ Where you have the dining room table now looks like a breakfast nook. Maybe a smaller round table in there? You could make the area behind the living room a larger formal dining area. I think your new home is amazing and you’re going to have so much fun putting your super-talented gift of styling into every room. Congratulations!!!🎉
Love your new place!!! The “pass through” room could be used as a movie room / hang area for guest when you have people over. Could have snacks and mini fridge with a projector instead of a traditional tv. Put a sectional in and that would be multiple seating. Just an idea. Amazing work and what a great house!!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with it to make it your own.
For the little pass-through room - what about a kitchenette for guests? Just like a mini fridge, a coffee bar, maybe a little seating area. So when guests stay over they can make their own coffee in the morning or have somewhere easy for them to store snacks/cereal, etc! As a guest it can be awkward to go into your host’s fridge when you’re hungry, so your own little fridge and eating area would be amazin.
The windowless room heading into the guest wing could be used as a sort of treasure room. A way to show all your guests the pictures and loved items from trips and memorable moments. Also having a sort of apothecary there would be nice too as it’s close to a door for the outside and not too far a walk from the main area of the house. Either way you always find something fun to do with your space! Moving is always an adventure thank you for sharing your journey with us!
I have serious house envy, this place is amazing! For that room in the "guest suite" that you don't know what to do with - it has no windows so I immediately thought a mini movie room? Projector, big comfy seating, no light makes it perfect for cozy binge watching sessions. I don't know how into movies you and Austin are but you have so much space in that house, might be a good at least temporary use for it! Congrats on the new place and I can't wait to see what you do with it!
What. A. FIND! 🤯 Not only does it fit your family's vibe, the real estate features are *chef's kiss* a total DREAM💗💗💗 Maybe the passthrough room could be a little library/bar cart area where you can incorporate some low-light plants - kind of like a talking pit without the pit! It could also be a nice concentrated area for you to try one of your more avant-garde biophilic designs in 📺⛰
The house is beautiful! I'm not sure of future plans but the three rooms and the passthrough room would make an incredible master suite - ensuite, huge wardrobe, seating area and bed space. Granted it does turn the house from a four bed into a two bed lol, but I am currently fixated on bedroom suites!
omg i'm in love with this new house 😍 "Midcentury Dream" sounded good when you said it the basement extra room with no windows could be a storage area maybe? the guest rooms could have murphy bed options that could be transformed into an office when you want to
Tiny closet upgrade: Might be extra work but that closet and the laundry room could just be combined? There should be a way to organize that room to laundry on one side, closet everywhere else. Added bonus being the laundry doesn’t leave that space really except when you’re wearing it. You’d just have to make sure there’s good airflow but it could be very, very handy. Guest entry space: Doing a really cool feature wallpaper of a nature scene? There are some low-no light lovin plants that could easily liven up that space. Making the lights reminiscent of pink salt rock lamps. Cozy nature night cap vibey space
What a great house, I love how open the upstairs is and the wrap around porch is so perfect. Everyone of the windows seams to look out at those beautiful trees. Dani must be so happy.
For the windowless room that is currently boring and empty.. hear me out... small at home movie theater. It's actually ideal to not have any windows and you could get a projector to watch movies on the wall(or some other type of screen) get some comfy recliners or couch and maybe make like a little snack bar area or a mini fridge. Anddd you should get one of those old timey popcorn makers or something. It would be so cute and could be fun for at home date nights. It would be really cool to decorate like a theater too, with your favorite movie posters framed on the wall and things like that. Not sure if you guys are movie people so if not disregard, but I would love a room like that in my home.

Where's the vintage pool table going?! You need one!
Guest rooms oooorr, or, or!! Baby rooms! Ahhhhh 👶 =)=)=) smiles so big!
game room , or pool table, table tennis.
that walkthrough room in the guest suit should be a living room turned movie theatre!! no windows… good for entertaining guests.. its perfect!
Congrats, can't wait to see the journey of you upgrading it!
agree as soon as she said it had no windows though would make a perfect space to have a projector screen! make it super cosy
Came here to also comment this! I think that pass through room would make the best cozy theatre chill room for movie nights with friends - snack bar included!
Yes to all of that! A theatre space/game room/music room (with a mini kitchen/snack bar) downstairs would be terrific.
Oh yessss! Can’t wait for this
In my minds eye, I pictured a pool table or an air hockey table and old school pinball machines and maybe even a skee ball machine with a bar and a juke box and, and, and :)
The pass through room in the guest area could be made into a cozy spot for guests to relax if everyone is done hanging out for the night but they’re not ready for bed - a cozy couch, maybe a fold out desk of some kind in case they need a space to work…
that way they don’t have to feel awkward about using your spaces since it’s already made for them. Makes for a lovely hospitality suite!
Kalyn; Agreed. Perfect Hospitality suite. I was thinking to also add a mini fridge, Microwave, Coffee maker.....
Agree! I would love that as a guest
@@grottoserpentina9342 yes thinking that too. Especially since there is 3 guest rooms.... a small couch and what you said. Would be great for guest
great idea!
Omg yes!! And maybe they could also set up a little coffee station with a mini fridge for snacks, so that is their guests feel like making a drink or having a little snack they don't have to go upstairs. A nice reading nook would look cool, too!
“Becky’s Midcentury Dreamhouse” really gives “Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse” in the BEST WAY
lovvvvee this! congrats becky!!
I was literally gonna suggest this too!
this was gonna be my suggestion!
or “life in the dream house"
You could make that pass through room a full on library with floor to ceiling books and cozy moody lighting. Or maybe put built in cabinets for DIY supplies and other storage...also, GREAT HOUSE! It's absolutely beautiful and the potential is amazing. Can't wait to see what you do. Congrats!!
Agreed! And make the door to the guest rooms a hidden bookshelf door 😍😍
a library was my first thought!
A cozy fairy vibe library room?
The pass through room should definitely be a mini library. Really transform it into something dark and moody like a Narnia wardrobe vibe.
Plus magnolia trees are wonderful for holiday arrangements, the leaves are beautiful
Living in Europe, this house is still a mansion :D Love it tho.
Yess, I think a lot of the houses others move into are kinda boring and have zero character.
OMG I would love this...
agreed!
Congrats.
Reviving the Vibe is perfect!!!
oh, reviving the vibe is good
Love: That 70s House!!!
My thoughts exactly!
oh that's perfect. I was thinking if it was me I'd turn it into a little videogame nook but I think movie room is way more Becky's vibe
I was going to say the same thing :)
Same thoughts! with a bar if there's enough space since it's close to the guestroom a good hangout place
I'm about to say this! ❤
That pass through room when you enter the guest suit could be suchhhhh a great spot for wall-to-wall floor to ceiling bookshelves and a super cozy zen library vibe! This house is stunning, it suits you perfectly! Congrats :))
I logged in to say exactly this! 🙌
YESS love this idea!!
This is much better then my idea 👏🏻👏🏻
the craft room sounds like a great idea!! I would do it with the side room. Would also do a theater/game room with the awesome bar cart
Yes, I thought this too! An art studio! And isn’t Austin a musician? The basement theater space could double as a music/jamming studio. And still plenty of room left for kiddos if that’s part of the plan! I freaking love this house
Love the idea of a moody library for the pass thru room or maybe a speak easy vibe
On the windowless room it would be cool to have a common room for the guests. Since it leads to the guest rooms. With a tv maybe a snack bar. Comfy seating etc! Love your new home Becky! ❤
Ohh! Good idea, if you have guests over all of the time! I also love the idea of it being a dark, moody, library with a bookshelf door!
Basement idea would be like a funky 70s bar/ movie room similar to the Airbnb you guys did. Can’t wait to see you add more MCM touches like new lights!
Oh I LOVE that idea. Doing a mirror wall would help make up with the no windows thing!
Yes! I was thinking turn the room with no windows into a theatre! Some lounge chairs and a projector!
A movie room in the windowless room would be so cool and a games/ club room downstairs! The vibes of this space are incredible I love it and love the sustainable approach 🙌 I can't wait to see you make it over 🤍
This definitely, with fill surround sound, with a good projector, BEAN BAGS!!
I think the room is too small to be a theater.
@@marritt1 yes! Lots of thrifted seating and games tables for the hangout room for a really fun, eclectic vibe 😊
@@flamingo1493 I have an Interior Design business in the North East England (where space is very limited! ) and we have done some amazing movie rooms you get to think more creatively about a space and its design and it can feel much cosier and more intimate, then the games/ club room can have a projector and more seating for watching big games or movies with more people 😊
You could turn the closet into a built-in couch so you get more space between projector wall and seats for movie watching
you could make the windowless room into a minimal kitchen area for guests in case they want to get up and do their morning coffee or breakfasts or something without coming upstairs to the main area?
That's great unless they plan to have kids who need to sleep in those rooms. You don't want little kids and a kitchen back there
Such a good and practical idea to make a kitchenette here.
I wasn't expecting a basement as well! Love how warm and cozy the house is with all the wood
Literally physically dropped what I was doing onto the floor out of excitement to click I don’t think I’ve ever been so vicariously excited about someone else’s house lol
omg aw
@@TheSorryGirls every time I’ve been thrifting/antiquing for my own house lately I find stuff and go “wow this would be perfect for Becky’s new house I should text her a pic” and then I remember I do not actually know Becky and live 700 miles away- the parasocial decor hunting is real 😂😂
Lol same here!!
Becky is so kind leaving all the amazing accents but the paint colours got me😭 you are a godsend👏🏻😂
My thoughts too!!!
First, great score on the string bookshelves. They are perfect for that spot. I think you could make the windowless room into your big closet and use the smaller closet in your bedroom for a rotating 'capsule wardrobe' type set up. My vote for a series name is 'That 70s House'
OMG that is the best series name idea! I agree “That 70’s house” all the way!!! More people need to boost this comment.
This house just kept going and going and going….I LOVE IT. I feel like you can make one room either a gym or a diy studio!
The downstairs pass between room could be a good at home gym area. And you could use the big closet in that room to store your off season clothing. I love the vibes of the new house! Totally fits you guys perfectly! And you could call the series “home is where the heart is” lol.
Home gym is a great idea. Also could be a retreat space for guests: coffee bar, microwave, mini fridge, etc.
Love this idea
That’s what I thought but then I also like working out with a view
I think passing through the gym isn’t ideal. Maybe in 1 of the 3 guest rooms. Butttt the way she said “future uses” about those three rooms makes me think guest rooms and future kids. So idk. I think even the basement is a better gym space. It’s not the most aesthetic to have to regularly walk through
@@itsrebeccalynn5470 I agree it's not that great having to pass through it, plus a room with no window doesn't sound like the best space for a gym :D
I think I'd want to make the windowless room a beautiful storage area. That way you don't have to go into the basement if you need things and it's all a bit more accessible. The basement can then be dedicated to something entirely different like a speakeasy
What a cool idea!
Ooooh I didn’t even think of that! I love the cozy movie room idea for the guests! Just imagine a cute vintage popcorn maker in a corner.
I had the exact same thought! That would be sooo cool
I love this idea
I love that even though you’ve tried out all different kinds of trends you are still true to your own personal style and instead of copy pasting what’s in, you use it as inspiration to add onto your style xxx
This house really suits your style so well, and doesn’t look forced at all. I love it!
This house is HUGE!!!! I love seeing Danni running in the yard.
I thought the same! It would make a beautiful walk in closet!
Or a mudroom. Storage for outdoor clothes and gear and doggo stuff.
Yes! This was exactly my thought!
Laundry room, closet solutions!
I thought the exact same thing but maybe more of a mix between mudroom/towels etc ☺️
Congratulations to your new home!
ahh you are so right!! thank you :)
You could use one of your MANY extra rooms for a “creativity room”!
Like a little home workshop 😊
I love this house! Pass through room could be a cozy little library and game storage where guests can find something to read, and take it back to their room. Reviving House = name suggestion.
Wow love a “pass through library”!!!
This was a thought I had when I saw this room too!! I see it being dark academia/mid century vibes. Dim lights, cozy chairs or a couch. Lots of books. Velvet somewhere too. 😍😍
storage/library is always a good idea!
@@taliblakeman9149 Great minds. 😊
I love the idea of game storage!
this house is HUGE !!!! congrats becky!!! would love to see the 3 guest rooms be transformed into the rooms youve seen during your abandoned mid century house tours !!!! the funky wallpapers and all!
The energy coming from your new home is 100% you! I’m obsessed and so so excited for you!
Agreed!
Windowless room = stunning walk in closet for you both!
I would love to see another challenge of you and Kelsey with partners make over two of the guest bedrooms with a specific budget and thrifted items.
That’s more then a “little of an upgrade” Danny has a HUGE yard now! Beautiful home too you did very good
The room near your bedroom, the one with no windows should be your walk - in closet.
@@purpleprose78 ahhh, makes more sense - misunderstood!
I love the layout of this home. The pass through room could be a small movie theatre room if you demo'd the closet to give it some more space
Would be even sweeter if one of those rooms turned out to be a nursery!!! 😍
Here’s how I would renovate -
Top floor:
Living room, kitchen, dining, bar, office
Middle floor:
Master-bedroom
Child 1’s bedroom
Child 2’s bedroom
Guest Bedroom
Common Study Area + library for children
Basement:
Wine cellar
Multipurpose hall for Gymming, gaming & karaoke
I was thinking a similar thing
That room with no windows is perfect to put a couch and a projector to watch movies, make it vibey and cozy
magnolia trees are so special, i miss the one we had in my front yard growing up but i don't envy the petal clean up.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. Walk in closet with big mirror - a cool dressing room..
I can’t wait to see what you do with it ❤
The "Mid Century Escape" house series 🏡 love the vibe of your new house and I'm excited to see what you'll to with it!
Or banquette seating
Granted it does turn the house from a four bed into a two bed lol, but I am currently fixated on bedroom suites!
omg i'm in love with this new house 😍 "Midcentury Dream" sounded good when you said it
the basement extra room with no windows could be a storage area maybe? the guest rooms could have murphy bed options that could be transformed into an office when you want to
Tiny closet upgrade:
Might be extra work but that closet and the laundry room could just be combined? There should be a way to organize that room to laundry on one side, closet everywhere else. Added bonus being the laundry doesn’t leave that space really except when you’re wearing it. You’d just have to make sure there’s good airflow but it could be very, very handy.
Guest entry space:
Doing a really cool feature wallpaper of a nature scene? There are some low-no light lovin plants that could easily liven up that space. Making the lights reminiscent of pink salt rock lamps. Cozy nature night cap vibey space
Becky, the house is unreal!!! 🥰 It’s already gorgeous and has so much potential for future reno videos. Also, it’s huge! 😆
Congratulations on your new home! So excited for what designs you are going to apply on your dream home 😊
