I know this is an older video, but when using the wood stain for waterproofing, you shouldn't use a foam brush and such light coats. You should use a paint brush, and do thick layers.

It’s cedar so water proofing isn’t really a concern. :)

Ohh I didn't know what type of wood. But that's good. :) Either way more stain can't really hurt anything.
