How long do you anticipate Sony continuing to sell any camcorders? It seems they have completely stopped updating any models. I will very surprised if the end of the road has not already arrived.
The Sony counter at B+H photo in New York has a small display showing 2 flatscreen camera prototypes that look just like smartphones, with an all-glass widescreen format. This appears to be next to replace their smaller camcorder format.
I bought mine around 5 years ago and used it around three or four times. I get as good results in most conditions using iPhone. i think sony recognise the market is closing. that said the price is exactly the same right now... weird
Glad it was helpful! But I have to tell you, if you really want an eye candy look, you are probably better off with a full-frame or aps-C camera like the FX30, a6700, (both aps-C), or the a7IV/a7CII (FF). All of the four that I just mentioned have 10 bit video, which makes a huge difference when editing. I do one on one learning through zoom for $150 per session if you want to really do a deep dive into this. Let me know if you are interested. pat
Very Cool Stuff, I am a professional photographer, Last 25 years, I got Sony A7R4, A6500, Canon R5 and AX700, Got plenty of Glass, The AX700 is my Grab and GO Video Camera. I Love IT
i use my fdr ax700 to shoot short movies and it's perfect! Everyone thinks that i use some sort of professional Cinema camera, ahahahahah it just make me sad how people think that you need to own the perfect tool to do things. You can do everything with this gem if you have ideas. Perfect camera for life. I also take screen from my movies or videos and people think that i have a reflex.
I just bought this camera a little while ago and I was just curious, can you buy lenses for this camera and put them on with a step up or down rings? I am not camera savy, just been reading lots of forums.
There are aftermarket people who make a wide, superwide, and short telephoto screw ons for the AX-700. the AX-700's filer size is 62mm so you'd look for that size :)
Thank you for your videos. If you don’t mind me asking, I livestream high school soccer, basketball and volleyball games to UA-cam at 720p. What would be better the AX53 or the AX700? I’m currently using a tripod mounted Canon Vixia R800.
AX700 would offer you better quality, especially in low light, because of it's much larger 1" sensor. But if you only steam at 720P, it wouldn't make that big a difference. On the other hand, if you create an end of season video at 1080P or better yet, 4K, then the AX700 would be your best bet.
I had an AX700 for a couple of years and loved how everything was in a complete package. The reason I gave up on it is the menu system is pre stone age. Changing/selecting White Balance was a PIA. I'm sure it would work well if it was your only camera. For me it was a B-Cam.
FYI You can assign a custom button to take a white balance. Assuming the camcorder is already setup on the manual WB, just point at your grey card press that button and it should be good to go
I find the AX700 is great for daytime travel videography (scenery, landscape, etc). However, issues with the paning, tilting, and low light performance are very noticeable under many common conditions. Action filming seems one point that I would disagree with in your commentary.
I shoot only for youtube. My Panasonic GH5 already does everything camcorders are favored for except long zoom, which I would never use for shooting talking heads. Codexes galore, SDI output, full-sized HDMI port, immediate auto, the best image stabilization, and so on. If reviewers praise the advantages camcorders over mirrorless cameras, they should add, "except for the GH5." It is a video-centric camera.
I have the AX700 since 2020 and love it. I use it on a Weebill S stabiliser and I works perfectly
Thank you for this great video.. please answer me... Does the sony AX700 has night shot with the green light like the Ax53 ...? Thank you.

I’ve been using AX700 since it released and love it!
that makes two of us :)
very informative thanks. I'm still undecided on what to use for a main camera for my YT channel, this could be an option.

it is a real swiss army knife for run & gun!
hello good time
Is it possible to increase 30 frames to 60 frames in 4K resolution in Sony FDR ax-700 camera?
No but Sony just announced two new camcorders that will do 4K 60p
@@PMRTV Thank you for your reply. Please, if possible, name some models that have a reasonable price🙏🌺

thanks for reviewing ! i have a quick question, have you ever tried to connect an Atonos to it ? Thanks !
no but I use Atomos on other cameras sony makes. LCD will go dark and you loose the ability for touch focus

Basically a Z-90 without the professional camera price tag.
pretty much!

action in good light is not a problem for the AX700. Action in the dark is difficult for all small sensor cameras.
