Understanding the bible in its correct translation is soooooo important... it completely changes the meaning and helps us to understand what the Lord really wants from us or wants us to understand... it's good to understand the history of this.... thank you

Yes, I am Messianic, although not Jewish; & I no longer identify w/"church"; but most believers have no idea about this, & need to hear this teaching.

Dear brother, is there any Muslim* in your school or neighbourhood? Are you curious about their religion and faith?
They said, "They believe in Allah** and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. They make no distinction between any of them, and they are in submission to Allah."

This is a blessing to the body of Christ. Most believers are devoted to doing church rather than being living stones of the spiritual temple as we come to Jesus 1 Peter 2:4.. We are like the early believers who meet together from house to house breaking bread.I am from Ireland and I will send you a book on the Passover Lords Supper which encourages the believers to bread daily and forget not all our benefits

Respectfully....I want to point out that the Greek Orthodox’s Church has Ekklesia and not Kryiakon. The Catholic Church’s official name in Latin Catholicae Ecclesiae.
And the French word for church is Eglise. So this whole thing is really about how the English decided to translate the word.
The reason big buildings were created later is because the Church was under persecution and worshiping in secret as soon as they could they were joyful about being able to erect places of worship for their Lord.
I mean the word Ekklesia quite literally still is the name for the ancient churches

  • @zakiahkatharos9716

It gives me joy that you exist, and that your wife & you help bring Jesus to so many others Jews, as well that you help Christians come to better understand Jesus & what it was to bee a 1st Century believer in Christ. I liked this video not because it taught me anything new but for its confirmation of what I have been telling other Christians I know.
In the Christian world you often find people who speak of the "True Church" as being their church, and how the "church will be raptured or saved, and I have said to them, it is not 'church' in the sense that we know it but is from the word Ekklesia and means "the ones called out" by God and that instead of reading it as a church, we should read the passage as "the ones called out by God"
Apart from having my Abba and my Ishi holding my hand, here, it is a path, I walk alone- there are a lot of what I call "Christmas card Christians" they celebrate the Holidays as a time for the family to gather, pour out the commercialization of the holidays yet don't focus on Christ.I no longer Celebrate Christmas - the actual Mass or Feast to commemorate Christ dying for our sins should be Nissan 15 when Christ died & then rose for us ALL. That's the "True Christmas."
Now I am part way through a forty day fast leading towards Yom Kippur, which the first three days was difficult but I prayed for help and it has been quite easy to stay focus on doing this as a sign for God to know of my love & devotion for him.
I read my bible, and try to understand the lexicon of words, what was the meaning in the Aramaic or Hebrew version of the Latin or Greek word, to try to understand the message more profoundly. To grow ever more close by trying to understand what the word meant to Yeshua and his disciples; what were they trying to convey.
My household goes from Atheists and Agnostics, to somewhat Believers in Christ, to one who wants to know more yet gets side tracked a lot, and to myself who walked herself to church as a child, currently prayers 3 - 4 times a day, and is trying to teach myself how to partake in the Lord's 7 Holy Feasts (because if as Christians we follow the Ten Commandments, should we not as well follow God's 7 Holy Feasts, which he commanded to Moses basically at the same time?) - there is no "church" here that really shares my believes, no one to help guide me. Outwardly I may not get the Autumn Feasts right but my heart shall try. The closest I find to sharing a similar path seems to (maybe) be Messianic Jews.
So Thank you. It's a very beautiful thing you do, sharing your insight as you do. Shalom.

Not only Mt. 18:20 ("For where two or more come together in My Name, there am I with them"), but no one can read the epistles and DENY that Paul's ministry was establishing churches. ALL of the epistles were written to the churches in Ephesus, in Galatia, Philippi, etc. JESUS Himself addressed seven churches in Revelation.

That is true , but God addressed those churches for they are all doing bad but 1. Come on , read the scriptures. He is warning them churches about their way's. Where 3 or more gathering is a big difference then a 501 c3 church or business. God told us they would fall away. When Jesus taught he was in many places not a building all the time. A synagogue. It's members of believers.

Shalom, on the surface I agree with what I am hearing through the first half of your video. I am certain, however, that though the right words are expressed, the intent or meaning of certain words, terms, etc. might not be the same as I have come to understand them. Church as a word is actually derived from the Greek word Circe, who was a witch who turned men that shipwrecked on her Mediterranean isle, into swine and other unclean beasts. This information is relevant to your topic, why is it being ignored? It has its spiritual side that is very deep.

Hi Ron, Many thanks for your ministry especially in defending God's purposes for the Jewish people against replacement theology and defending Israel against the Palestinian bias in the world. I understand what you're saying here on this video but I would say you are talking of the local church or congregation. I go to a local congregation of believers, that's fine. But Paul in Ephesians also speaks of Christ being the head of the Church meaning the universal church that speaks of all believers from Pentecost to the Rapture. I believe in two peoples of God, Israel and the Church. Israel is also called a congregation like Stephen says in Acts 7:38, so one could say there are two peoples of God, the congregation/assembly and the congregation/assembly but that doesn't help in distinguishing what's what. I think it's just easier for theological distinctions to call it Israel and the Church to distinguish the two. I am a Gentile believer in Jesus the Messiah so am not a "spiritual Jew" and so am not a part of the nation of Israel (though have been grafted into the commonwealth of Israel) and I do not practice Messianic Judaism, a term that I do have a problem. If I don't practice that, then what do I call my faith and what body am I a part of as a Gentile because I know I'm not part of Israel as I'm not Jewish. God bless brother

The word is "Kiriaki" (κυριακῇ) which means "The Lords Day" from The Root Greek word Kirios (Lord), you can see it used by John in Revelation 1:10
    biblehub.com/text/revelation/1-10.htm
The word ἐκκλησία Eklesia simply means "the chosen ones," from the word "Eklecton" ἐκλεκτόν as used by Peter in 1 Peter 2:9
    biblehub.com/text/1_peter/2-9.htm
We don't use the word Kiriaki for a congregation in the Greek language, we use it for Sunday, the day of worship, or "The Lord's Day." We use Eklesia for the congregational body of believers.

One of the tragic aberrations of so-called modern religion is “Churchless Christianity.” The assertion is that it is Christ who saves us, not the Church, so “all you need is Jesus.”
Few who claim to be Christians would argue against the statement that it is Christ who saves. For He is the eternal Son of God who has assumed human flesh, and has done so “for us and for our salvation” (Nicene Creed). Thus Paul writes, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1Ti 2:5).
But because this Mediator established the Church which is His body, we who are joined to Him are joined to His Church as well. To say we love Christ, who is Head of the Church, and at the same time reject His body is to deny New Testament teaching.
The Gospel and Acts. The first use of the word “church” (Gr. ecclesia) in the New Testament comes in the Gospel of Matthew, when our Lord gives His approval of Peter’s confession of faith and promises, “I will build My church” (Mt 16:18). Jesus Christ builds, and we cooperate with Him.
The Book of Acts amplifies what Jesus meant in Matthew 16. When Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost concludes, those present ask for guidance toward salvation: “What shall we do?” (Acts 2:37). Following Peter’s word, they are baptized and join with the other believers, three thousand of them (Acts 2:38, 41).
Having been joined to Christ and His Church, these baptized believers begin living as the body of Christ. We find them looking after each other, using their personal resources for one another’s care, continuing together in prayer and in the Eucharist (Acts 2:42-47). From this point on “the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47), and throughout Acts, we see the Church being built as the Gospel of Christ spreads.
The Epistles. Paul’s instructions in his letters to the churches throughout the eastern Mediterranean clearly show what it means to be members of Christ: to be the Church and to be in the Church. Nowhere in the New Testament is Paul’s teaching on the Church more fully disclosed than in Ephesians 4. He instructs us that:
    1. The Church is one, “endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (4:3). There is one Church, one God, one doctrine, one baptism.
    2. The Church is people, men and women who are energized by the Holy Spirit. For “to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift” (4:7). We are not all given the same gifts, but together we are equipped to do God’s will.
    3. The Head of the Church is Christ, “from whom the whole body [is] joined and knit together” (4:16).
    4. The Church is “the new man” (4:24), the new creation, made to be righteous and holy. We are no longer alienated from God (4:18); we are being renewed together (4:23), “members of one another” (4:25).
The Church, then, is that place established by Christ where we each may become what we are created to be, maturing and being perfected, while the Church receives what it needs from each of us, so that it too is being perfected. The Church as the body of Christ carries us beyond our petty and worldly personal concerns, stretching our vision to the eternal and the heavenly as we ascend together to worship the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

This all seems really overcomplicated, did Jesus really just throw us a Bible individually so to speak we could all just exegete it ourselves and come to our own conclusions on dealing with important issues such as these? So many Christians claiming their. Biblical exegesis of the texts or Spirit led interpretation is correct and yet we have so many different conclusions etc. Too much theological and practical division today, especially when we consider that Jesus came to bring the scattered tribes of Israel into one united kingdom as part of the new covenant (John 11:52) ...I find this all very frustrating in how we honour one person’s interpretation over another...

Whenever u see the work church in the NT it was incorrectly translated into english as church. there have been both Greek and Roman Ekklesia and the early church was an ekklesia but what we call church today is NOT an ekklesia so ive written this to help people to see the difference and
Church often involves itself with worldly politics and sees itself as the moral compass for society. An Ekklesia is only nterested in the business of building Gods kingdom on Earth Col3v1-2
Church is split into 55000+ denominations and corporations. There is only one Christian Ekklesia, one body, one nation, one spirit, one loaf of bread and one crucificion 1 COr1v10-13; Eph 4v4-6
Church has a name to rally support for its cause. An Ekklesia has no name
Each individual church promotes itself, Ekklesia promote the unity of the body of christ
church leaders have their own vision statement to run their church. An Ekklesia is run by Jesus and has only one mission statement Matt 28v19.
church promotes compulsory giving by promoting Tithing (10%). An Ekklesia gives via a generous heart (100%)
church target audience is often to those in the financial middle and upper class. An Ekklesia targets those rich in faith but financially poor.
church wealth is used to build organisations, pay mortgages to banks and saleries. All Ekklesias wealth goes to meet the needs of the saints
church focus is on building church numbers (bigger the church the more powerful). Ekklesaia are home churches. (often meet as a city ekklesia), focus is on building individuals
church clergy and elite are often the only people allowed to move in the gifts and lay hands on others. An Ekklesia has no clergy or elite, all members are able to move in the gifts and pray for others and are encouraged to do so.
church congregations are often fruitless, Ekklesia congregations are fruitful
Much of the church prostitutes itself by loving Jesus but also loving the things of the world, Ekklesia loves only Jesus
church- personal prophecy is almost non-existant. An Ekklesia personal prophecy is encouraged
Church has been used by the Holy Spirit since the protestant reformation but its now an old wineskin. An Ekklesia is the new wineskin and is a reformation movement (early church was an ekklesia)
Church is institutionally organised. An ekklesia is geograghically organised
The church is imperfect, an ekklesia is perfect
Church has communion services. Ekklesia has shared agape meals
Church is largly intellectual and know the bible. Ekklesia lives the Bible
Church lacks the love of the father. Ekklesia demonstrates the love of the father

Why did you quote the New Testament in Hebrew?? Like the entirety of the New Testament was originally in Greek and all of the Old Testament writings of the time were in Greek. It’s so strange and makes it sound shady that you would assert the Hebrew over the Greek.

Hello Matthew, you are mistaken about the languages of the Torah. Can I suggest you take a look at the information readiky available which proves that both old and new testaments were in fact originally written in Hebrew. Greek translations were written later. I highly recommend Nehemia Gordon's work in this area. Check it out at Nehemias Wall (nehemiaswall.com) If you are open to investigating this I'm sure you will be incredibly blessed by the revelations you will find. Shalom.

So congregation is not synonymous with church.
Yet congregation are believers of Jesus and God.
And church is not the body of believers? And are not there a separation between the Jews and Gentiles who believe in Jesus because the Jews reject Him?
I think this guy is blaming the wrong thing for any problems of outreach. This is splitting hairs if I ever saw this fallacy.

I've been to the messianic Jewish websites, there favorite quote is to the Jew first and then the gentile, they all say it. They never quote that there is neither jew or Greek or male of female that we are all one in Christ...a new race of people. Israel was the chosen people because in that nation they carried the promised seed of Abraham. once the seed was born. the mosaic covenant was replaced with the new covenant which is in Jesus The Christ. The Jewish nation never kept the Mosaic covenant They constantly broke it to the point God told them that they were no longer His people and that he was no longer their God. The Jewish nation today still rejects the Messiah. you can play with words all you want. It doesn't change the truth. Jesus said He was the way, the truth and the life. Those people who have been joined to the Lord Jesus Christ by the Holy spirit are the true Body of Christ period. As Paul said, He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Okay a few thing's: You stated: "Asking a Jew to go to church is like asking them to not be part of Judaism" NO it's NOT. What you are doing is saying Judaism is a culture NOT a religion. False it is a religion, I CAN'T find the word Judaism ANYWHERE inside the Scripture's. We know of Jewish "Leader's" of the time. Sadducee's & Pharisees Which ARE religion organizer's ADDING to YHWH word. By telling the people of what they can & cannot do. Like Yeshua Said: THEY are adding a burden unto the people. (READ) Mathew 23: 3-10. If you know History Congregation is a biblical gathering of people, they gathered and HID from Rome b/c of persecution and there's leadership there. And there's order as well of how a "Church" / "Congregation" is supposed to be ran. The notion somehow Constantine organized all this stuff is False. Or of the different council's that went down in "Church History."

The "ekklesia" vocabulary lesson is good. But I don't know about all tha Hebrew and Judaism stuff he was talking about. Siloam? No, that's called Judaizing. The New Testament was written in Greek. The apostle Paul and Jesus and the rest of his disciples spoke and wrote in Greek. The Jews were loyal to Caesar and citizens of Rome. They followed Roman rule of law. Also, Judaism is not a real religion because it's original use was for government purposes. Not personal religion. The New covenant (Christianity) was made for the purpose of bringing individuals to God personally instead of nationally. By Judaizing, you're saying that you dont want a personal relationship with God.
