Ieeeee I’m sooo exited, I’m going to backpack in asia when I’m done with high school!! I’m a really shy girl and I don’t talk to new people unless they start talking to me. I know I will change and I know I will become more social during my solo trip, because I won’t have another choice. That’s why I’m sooo exited ✨🌏💖
Nina That's not necessarily true though. If you really want to change and be more social you need to do it now! I've been homeschooled all my life and when I finally started college I had the same idea as you. I'll become more social because I'm forced to be around people. That didn't really happen at all. I was/am still to shy to talk with people. I've been getting better because I'm making an effort but don't go into solo traveling thinking it's going to make you change and be social cause that may not be the case. I've also read a lot of stories on reddit of people who met travelers like you who never became social during their travels and had a bad trip.
I'm 19 and I really want to try solo traveling this year and I'm scared, but I'm trying to plan everything. I think once I get to the location I can try to make friends and socialise, but I'm trying to break the initial fear and barrier of planning the trip. Where to go and things like that

Same I’m 19 too & I really want to travel SOMEWHERE by myself for my bday. To build my confidence I’ve been starting off small like going to amusement parks by myself or eating alone.

In my experience tho as a guy you hardly/ never see people just aproaching you for a chat out of the blue. I think for female its always a bit easier as you always have a guy somewhere into flirting and in general guys don't spontaniously chat with another guy.
