    In episode 3 Author Max Wallace of Who Killed Kurt Cobain talks about clandestinely maneuvering his way into a discussion with Dylan Carlson about Kurt Cobain, doing so while posing as a Canadian tourist in Seattle. Patty Schemel and Michael Dewitt enter the conversation and Wallace tries to set the record straight about the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Eldon Hoke a.k.a. El Duce.

    Max states Dave has always agreed that Kurt committed suicide, and openly tells people close to him that!. The interview clip played at the start, Dave clearly says he was nervous about writing about Kurt in his book, and somethings he did write he hadn't revealed even to his close friends. He also said he knows what people want him to write, "they have unanswered questions! As do I!!" I don't believe Dave has spoken much to anyone about Kurt's death openly, maybe his wife etc, but what are those questions Dave?. Richard Lee as crazy as he comes across, I give him points for his pushy questions! Sadly people thought he was a joke! ( Duff thinking he's a hero and everyone applauding )But really he was just asking the hard questions that make people uncomfortable. He's definitely an out there character but he was on to something from the beginning. I remember watching his channel years ago and thinking ok there's some interesting stuff here but fk he's odd lol!!. I still think Dylan knows something, I don't think Courtney's heart is that big that she financially carries them for years without it benefiting her in someway. And Eric and letters to Kurt! Financial gain, Cali and his Artwork, a body of work around Kurt's death! Financial gain!. All these people are players that remain open to speculation!

    Dylan is actually quite easy to meet. He always hangs out with the fans at every Earth show. I've had the pleasure of meeting him briefly a few times. Incredibly kind, humble and soft spoken guy. Cali de Witt is the one I'm suss about. He was a junkie, living at Kurt's house (hired by Courtney) and was there in the days after Kurt left rehab, when Kurt was home, just before Kurt died. He and gf Jessica Hopper were seen leaving the house by taxi very early one morning, after JH vomited beside the driveway. At the least, this couple knew Kurt was dead and were scarpering to avoid trouble. Was it Cali's dna on the cigarette butts in the greenhouse, that didn't match Kurt's brand (also found there)? We'll never know, thanks SPD.
    At least, Cali comes across as a fixer for CL, keeping her informed of what was going on at home, at a time we know Kurt was refusing all calls and contact from Courtney. Whatever happened around Kurt's death, it seems to have scared Cali and Jessica away from the house, and thus the plot to have the electrician find the body was concocted. (And it was Courtney who hired the electrician.)
    Cali came from a "wealthy" family but it sounds like maybe they just had a business. It doesn't mean he can't be bought off (in fact wealthy people like that sort of stuff - "no-one ever went broke taking a profit" they say) and does not mean they were wealthy enough to support their son for life and make money unappealing to him.
    Idk about Cali but we know Jessica got all weird and offensive when asked about Kurt's death decades later at a literary event in Ireland, and the questioner was thrown out of the event.
    Possibly a lot of people are happy to take CL's money even while disliking her but they shutup because they value their own lives and know or wonder what she's capable of.

A lot of our beliefs are shaped by our life experiences. I know how shady people can get and how long people can hold onto secrets because I've seen it firsthand. One of my best friends from school is serving a life sentence for murder. He was incarcerated for 12 years before he finally admitted to me that he was guilty. I used to spend the night at this person's house! We played Little League & Basketball together. We skateboarded together! Even though I now know he's 100% guilty I don't want to believe he was capable of something like that.

    Great interview. He touches on how multiple investigators were researching this case at the same time and they interviewed "the colorful cast of characters". To me personally, it sounds like Allen bragged to El Duce as a buddy in an honest moment. I don't hear that over the course of dinner with Allen, that he firmly denied involvement. In fact there is no information provided about that interaction. Instead I hear that since he developed a career and had a hot rod, it couldn't be him. Later life success has nothing to do with earlier mischief. Then when asked for a definitive determination as to whether Allen did it or not, he avoids answering by switching fast to Dylan. Why did he stop researching? Dead end or he knows who dun it? Share that petition! We need the death certificate changed and to find truth.

Nobody could shoot up that much dope, then put their works away, pull a gun up and reach for the trigger when heroin overdoses don't get as far as removing the needle from their arm. My friend Nicole was found like that in 1996.

Alot longer than Kurt. He was a functioning addict. I believe he good a hot shot or Fentynal. I've seen so many on a regular dose bobbing head, can't talk, can't sit etc. I've known at least 10 family, friends that had a opiate habit. They had no cares about leaving spoons, qtips, syringes, bags around. Unless they stayed with other ppl who was not using. I don't believe and wish we did know what really happened. All this he was depressed, sad etc is BS. Look at any video and he's not sad at all. Smiles and laughs. Yes ppl can be different at home etc but after some time like any substance or mental issue ppl can't hide it forever. He was a town drunk and was able to survive with his skills but suddenly when he is interviewed about the Cobain case then he manages to stumble upon a train. What was Richard saying to Duff? I truly believe that Eldon knew he was going to die the minute he mentioned Alan Wrench doing the hit. He just hoped that maybe Alan wouldn't be upset about it or wouldn't know. I think Alan always uses the same MO (if he has ever killed anyone) where he will forego bringing a gun when there is already one sitting in a closet right there on the property with the finger prints of his mark right on them. Same thing happened with poor Eldon. Alan convinced him that there was nothing to worry about. He drove him out to the bar except they took a little stop on the way..at the RR tracks and knocked Eldon out. Then he let the train do the rest. We can't prove that Alan did it but we can prove that it's highly likely Kurt had a target on him. It's frustrating to hear him say that Eldon had no ability to tell or discern truth when he passed both polygraphs. Did he wander off in his thinking and contradict himself? That's usually how you can tell. The test person didn't think so. Dylan didn't do it? He know this how? In the comments someone said that Dylan had told someone he was taking Frances away. Yes, that's heresy. But we know that he dated CL. We know he was there. What if him and Alan were BOTH there? What if Alan told Carlson to go get the bullets so it looked like he was never there? Everyone else that was there were just part of the scenery as far as I can tell. They know something but not everything.

Obviously it's not. But I think it might be possible he murdered Eldon, but anyone could've been hired to "take him out for opening up his big mouth". That he died right after his confession to Nick Broomfield & then Hard Copy is no coincidence that he ended up dead before he could do anymore damage. Courtney's most definitely behind it because that's the kind of person she is & that's the kind of thugs she associates with.

    ASF love the series so far. I've read his book with Ian many times. Idk why he's sounding like CL other lap dog Cross. His book says some strong statements that he's shying away from. He says in 1st Allen was last person to see Eldon. He dropped him off at Liquor store. Says he has no idea what happened but shows them tge exact spot he was killed. Was Eldon tested for CL date rap☆ drug or any like it? I, being a Alcoholic that functioned for a decade on enuff booze to kill some ppl, can say it's not a miracle he didn't die sooner. As with any substance we get a tolerance and we learn to do just fine on a BAC level that anyone else who's not would die, be drunk easily or drive and crash etc. I was at most ppl die level after years of starting my day with coffee and diesel 190 proof.
    My question is this, I've debated this for decades now Was kurt using until his death? I read in previous video that he used while on last tour. Other bands and his other mates said he drank water and was not effed up. Going with not using during last tour is a big chunk of why I've always said no way he pulled trigger. He was clean during Rome from opiates, clean in rehab. The counsellor said he didn't have a death wish, slim moon said he expected kurt to look like hell, he didnt. Etc. I know kurt was on a MAT drug at 1 point like subutex and shot up with bupernorphine by wife with codine, benedryl, xanax type drug etc. That would explain his not looking like hell. So if he was clean, on a MAT drug, it lasts 72 hrs half life so it'd take almost a week to be able to take black tar to get the effect. Ppl have died doing this as the Mu receptors are full of Subutex and thus can't be filled by any other opiates. So if he had that in rehab he could've taken a pound of dope and not felt it at all. He'd still OD and die but not feeling that rush and the high ppl chase using dope. So what's the point? Like taking the alcohol drug and drinking but u throw up and can't get drunk. I'd love to know what was in that syringe in Cali room with masking tape wrapped around it in their book.

    • @maebandy
      @maebandy Рік тому +1

      Valid questions, good points about Deuce and tolerance. What is diesel 190 proof, doesn't sound climate friendly. Even people with overly sensitized adrenal systems are leveled out to more "normal" baselines with a depressant like alcohol than messed up by it. Especially people who were raised in chaos as children. Deuce fits that profile. Wrench seems like he'd just have sociopathic and narcisstic attraction to CL, a wealthy man that feels deserving of notice but people still describe as a plumber...a poor little poor girl from a rich but unaccepting family?

    • @AmericanSpyFox
      @AmericanSpyFox  Рік тому +2

      I personally don't believe Eldon Hoke's death was an accident. He'd walked that route home hundreds if not thousands of times. I was a drunk for many years and I agree that over time a person does learn to function even when they're wasted. I recall numerous times in my young life when my friends and I'd be wasted and pile into a car. Everyone would always want me to drive because I functioned best under the influence even though I'd drank way more than them. Not proud of this as I don't drink anymore and wish I'd have stopped sooner in life.... Just saying.

    • @jasonchristopher2977
      @jasonchristopher2977 Рік тому

      @@AmericanSpyFox Thank u for your thoughts. I don't believe it either. Like u said he made that trip many times. Since Allen was his ride to the store I believe he had a hand in his finds death. How else would he know the exact spot where he died if not there? When hit by a train it drags the body and tissue for many football fields. Unless his head was over track just so, placed that way after Idk maybe a Courtney roofie spiked drink.
      I'm not proud of my lifestyle those 16 years but I'm proud and thankful I never hurt another from my selfish choices. Nobody as a kid says I wanna be a drunk, junkie when I grow up. In my family everyone drank. It seems normal when all have a drink in their hands every get together. I didn't ask to go to church and be abused by a youth leader. That was this that lead to my drunk lifestyle. Added on by divorced parents, my own divorce etc. Why we must deal with those things to get sober and clean and be great parents and break the cyle. Usually anybody who has a substance issue has parents, family that has those issues.
      I remember many times car surfing, drag racing, winter fukkery in machines with wheels that never ended bad. I don't believe in God but I do believe that our lives have meaning and some are meant for more than a young death. Also luck plays a part. U can wrestle a alligator many times but 1 time he will get the best of you. Like playing with fire. U will get burned if u tempt fate enough. Why did 50 get shot 9 times and live and 2pac shot less and didnt?
      I'm glad we've made the choice to live life with our best selves. I've known drunks that lived to their 70s with no bad things happen. Also know of HS kids that drink a 6 pack and sombody dies. It's no way to live. I have hope that anybody can change if they REALLY want to and put forth the effort to do so without accepting failure. If I can do it anybody can. After being so low the only way to go is up. Hopefully ppl don't harm others getting there. All we can do is the best we can. Alcohol can be bought about anywhere and causes more domestic, death, DUI etc than all others combined. Most crimes have alcohol in them than not. Ppl get mean when drinking.
