I was at the Magic vs Cavs game on Christmas Day in 04(worked for magic for 10 years). That T-Mac vs LeBron matchup was awesome for so many reasons.
LeBron legitimately stayed with him the entire game. Big Z won the opening tipoff and LeBron hit a little floater immediately, the next trip down LeBron hit a SMOOTH ass three and everyone was like damn he is about to run the league for a long time. T-Mac ended up with like 40 and LeBron like mid 30’s but that was 18 year old LeBron vs the most gifted player in the world at the time. I’ll never forget that game…

And to then realize that Kobe’s body wasn’t some standout, once every generation type of physique. Kobe had the body of a standard 2 guard, with the drive and knowledge of someone who studied the game. Asst/TOV ratio, MJ 2-1, Kobe 1.6-1 When you compare their last 2 years, MJ was not bad with the Wiz, his 2nd year was pretty good, his scoring eff was 45% and Kobes scoring eff was 41%. . You do realize that the NBA moved the 3 point line closer back in 1994. They didn't move it back until 1997. MJ's 3-point shot skyrocketed to 43% because of this. He doesn't shoot the 3 as well as Kobe.

So saying kobe was a better shooter from three doesn’t really add up. At the end of the day they shoot about the same percentage from three, and like the original comment said kobe just shot a lot more from deep than Michael ever did. I’m sure if Michael practiced and shot more from three that his percentage would be better than it is. His thing was high percentage mid range shots.
