This show does emotional episodes so very well. I’m so happy the 86 survived and were victorious. I hope the finale is triumphant. Again, a very good episode.
It's pretty wild how the last time they saw Lena she was basically just a squad leader giving directions to only a handful of soldiers and the next time they meet she is the commander of the entire 86 force. Gave herself quite the promotion.
Even more wild is the fact that while Lena is connected to all "processors" the RAID Device is actually taking a huge toll on her mentally because its not designed to be able to connect to that many at once safely unless Annette did some crazy optimization to lessen the strain. There is a good chance that Lena has near constant headaches after a mass connect like that, and could potentially burn out her brain again, unless Annette did some unreal optimization. It would be the same as trying to have 10000 conversations all going on all around you all at once, and being able to fully, and perfectly comprehend every single one of them.
@@VirtuousWanderer As an anime only, I HAVE to to assume the amp is meant to broadcast to all the para raids in the field all at once and receive from any as opposed to receiving from all units at once. Because even ignoring the specific brain burnout risks, of the PARA Raid, having the entirety of combat forces in the acting supreme commander's ears would be deafening noise instead of any actual communication.
I cried like a baby the first time I saw this episode, especially at the start when I thought he was all alone and about to die a horrific and undignified death with nothing but the voices of everyone telling him it was his fault for being the last man standing. So glad you've enjoyed the show - this episode was PEAK direction, cinematography and composition for a show that was a standout the entire run.
I can only imagine how Shin felt seeing her with the sketch and photo. It showed she went there, walked their steps and had caught up. The part of him reaching out to the others before coming to mirrors him reaching out to Lena.
I was kind of annoyed how everyone survived at first. Especially considering how it looked like Raiden took a railgun blast to the face, but it works so much better with this resolution of Shin's arc here with how "no one left him behind" this time.
I read a comment that Raiden was controlling his juggernaut instead of actually being inside which was in the LN but not in the anime, don't know if it's true but-
@@laice1883 yeah it's true, but just like you I also didn't get it at my first watch as an anime only and only understood it when I saw an explanation from a LN reader. I wish the anime had done a better job with that.
@@rickchakraborty2087 well anime had to create drama somehow so I understood why they didn't show that he was controlling as it will not feel threatening so they couldn't have made the tension of Raiden's death but yeah- They atleast should've like atleast did a flashback kinda thing if not explained by characters
For both Part 1 and Part 2 of Season 1 took about 86 days for releasing the episodes; and they had delays and some other reason to delay certain episodes for the final episode of 86. So, it was 86 days.
If Shin and Lena end up getting married, their kids will have a historical record of their meeting, since it is the first contact the Federacy and the Republic have had since the beginning of the war. Like, that conversation is gonna be in history books. That’s why Spider Lady was laughing at Shin.
Also probably due to the fact that in the LN its clarified that their machines all have mission recorders that basically records every single moment that machine is running. Shin always forgets that little detail, and (from what I have heard cant confirm) has even more even spicier conversations with Lena while out on deployment in future events of the story that literally ALL of the Federacy's higher-ups have to listen to for analytical purposes so basically, they have to listen to a couple of teens/young adults flirting A LOT, and this leads to Shin getting teased by them (again from what I have heard cant confirm) in a light-hearted joking way like "dude you gotta remember that these things record everything you say, and do."
@@VirtuousWanderer omg that is actually hilarious. just thinking how they eventually tease eachother on coms while somewhere we have an entire room of important officials, who are listening in on some dirty talk while all of them making a serious face. I hope we get that animated someday
@@VirtuousWanderer HAHA that reminds me of a scene in The Rookie where the cast is on comms talking about how one of their husbands hired private security and it turned out to be a hot British lady. They all start talking about how the officer needs to shut that down and then their supervisor jumps in and reminds them that they’re on an open line. Then tells the officer that she needs to “get that woman out of your house.”
The Dark Shin(the inner self in his mind), is the inner thoughts of his PTSD and Survivors Guilt. The thoughts about that why he is the only one to survive and everyone else dies around him. Wondering that he should die anyway and have no one remember him. The word “remember,” always comes up or even “I won’t forget.” Lena doesn’t know what Shin looks like even though Lena has the photo of the entire Spearhead Squadron, but she doesn’t know the faces, only the voices from the devices (PARA-RAID). When Lena activates the Device on her neck and it connects not just Cyclops, it also connects to Shin. When hearing her voice and finally realizing who it was, Shin was surprised and happy inside that she is alive. When Lena said, “You survived and made it here, I think that’s something you should be more proud of.” Shin finally cries not the cries of sadness, but the tears of acknowledgment of him being alive, and that he deserves to live. That is what Shin wants, The acknowledgment to survive and to live that’s all he has been wanting the acknowledgment of being alive, and he has the right to survive. Every time episode 22 comes up I cry every single time when Lena talks to the pilot (even though we know Shin, but she doesn’t know) The music you’re hearing is called “ Voices of the Chord,” by Hiroyuki Sawano. The one part when she says proud of the one part of the song connects like it just hits you with a bunch of emotions. That piece of music always makes me cry when hearing it in Episode 22
@@rickchakraborty2087 The Shadow Shin or the Dark Shin of his inner thoughts of his PTSD and/or Survivors Guilt. Giving you a thumbs down for not realizing it!
Consider this: the remaining Spearhead members are the best of the best of the best. They are around right now because they have proven to be incredibly hard to kill. So did we really think they were all going to get wiped out, off-camera, in the space of ten minutes?
I mean, Anju was loaded with missiles and fighting Lowes in close to medium range, Kurena was attacked by Kiri doing counterbattery, and Raiden was seen charging across an open field. So yes. Theo surviving makes sense. He was fighting in good terrain for him.
Nowadays you have show that spent millions on a season and cant tell a coherent story. Meanwhile 86 having multiple delays by sheer blood and sweat, using even the aspect ratio to makes you cry in every episode. And people just missed out on the whole show because its a mech show, its a "beat you in the head with racist bad" show. Just this episode alone should be taught in film school, like how often you get to see all these beacutiful framing in any media?
This anime I hold in high regard and one of my top three animes ever. As someone who has ptsd the first time was a rough experience but great at the same time it is hard to explain. Each ime I watch it I find something new to appreciate about it. Great reactions. I just find this show beyond a dought does best at showing a world of violence and finding the will to live on because it is hard even if you are surrounded by those that care for you.

I noticed in the picture of the 86 that Lena was holding the people who stood the closest to Shin are the 86 who survived with him
coincidence? I think not!
