- Sunday February 5th we tried to tackle the "171" trail system south of Red Feather Lakes CO. Needless to say.... the snow drifts are a deep...and a plenty. It was an epic day of flogging on vehicles trying to get through, but alas the deep powder that can't even hold up a 25 pound dog won out to the big block V8s and massive tires!
ENJOY!!
That blue Bronco sounds mean!! Love it.
It was epic!
@@JustinKingOffroadchains in deep snow? Thoughts?
@@richfarfugnuven6308 if you can make contact with the ground, yes. otherwise they just frame you out.
@JustinKingOffroad ya, I have been debating them for my built TJ. I wheel some in the winter up above Nederland and Boulder. Slaughterhouse Gulch is usually not too bad in the winter as well...
Ton of fun there
You should really look into side mount and front mount cams. They are game changers ❤
Awesome stuff here. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys at Yankee Hill on Saturday, I will be there for the RS Intro to Snow Wheeling run. Sounds like things are really icy out there right now so I'm wondering how far I can make it with no lockers in my 98 4runner on 31.5s lol.
Turbo old school bronco sounds good! Time to upgrade the turbo on yours
I need 2 more cylinders too! Lol!!!
Someone needs to design a quick connect v-shape snow push bumper like the old freight trains had to keep debris off the rails of the tracks granite they were not a quick connect on those old freight trains but you got enough metal bumpers out there you can do you some welding and make it a quick connect or get you some snowshoes for your truck's meaning V track wheels that looks like really nice weather to go out no matter what
Should've kept your Jeep.
Maybe, but the bronco is super nice!
Is the disconnect in front of the axle like the wagon?
kinda, it's electronically controlled but it's a hydraulic release. so you can unlock it under tension much easier.
you need to get a front camera relocate kit
i have thought about it. i'm so used to not having a front camera though.
Looks like a blast! Do any of those vehicles have lockers?
Oh yeah most of the jeeps did, I do, and we're taking full size trucks out again this weekend. I'm bringing the big camera and gimbal this time! Should be epic!
New to this kind of off-roading. There is a blue Bronco with turbo 427. What block is it? Ford, Chevy ?? That thing sounds wicked!
i do believe that is a ford crate motor. it was badass!
@@JustinKingOffroad Good , Ford in a Ford. Tired of Mustangs with LS swaps
You guys don’t have much snow.
We never do :(
That looked like fun. Hope your car doesn't have a serious problem.
When did they open it?
Around hunting season last year.
@Justin King I was at 517 7 moths ago and both gates were locked
@@ColoradoAdventureClub that makes sense. Hunting season started 4 months ago.
Justin, hey it’s Jason, who lives in Sterling. We’ve spoken a few times in the past. I would love to take my Rubicon out off roading on those trails sometime but don’t know a lot of off roaders. How often do you guys go out and do you want some company sometime? I know the cardinal rule is to never off road alone so that’s why I’m asking.
there's a few of us that go out from time to time, otherwise i'm usually tagging along with others that have planned trips. so it wouldn't be my place to invite more. however, one of my friends lives out in sterling and comes this way some times! i'm sure we can coordinate something and make a day of it.
Doesn't look like the Bronco is aired down ... or at least not enough "squish"
I noticed that too, but I was at about 12.
