- Decided to hop on the XBOX360 and dust off the classic NBA 2K6. Played a 5 minute quarter game on Hall of Fame with the Lakers vs the LeBron led Cavaliers. The presentation on this game is still pretty damn good for a game made in 2005 but converted to 360 in 2006.

i remember playing this for the first time ever at my cousin’s house when it first came out and we were blown away by the jump in graphics particularly with the sweat and jersey physics. but man have we come a long way since then. i really miss those days though 😢

This was the game that made me decide to buy an X360 ASAP. My jaw was on the floor the first time I saw someone playing it in person. Some comments here don't get how much of a visual upgrade this was over the previous gen.

@@davelouie131yep I was in 5th grade and my friend got the 360 and this game at launch and I thought 2k6 on Xbox was as good as graphics were going to get and my mind was blown the first time I saw the free throw close ups with the sweat and jersey physics my mind was blown haha

This game was so much fun, the 24/7 mode was fucking epic!

Xbox 360 launch title November 22,2005! Looking back, it’s hard to believe games like Double Dribble on NES were only 17-18 years old in 2005. The leap in graphics 1988-2005 is astounding!

I just grabbed a copy of this game the other day on eBay, I paid like $6 for one complete in box. NBA 2K6 is one of my favorite basketball games on the 360.

I remember Christmas 2005 I got this game from my (step) grandma & was disappointed I got this instead of NBA Live lol. Funny how times change, if it was the other way around these days I wouldn’t even play Live.

they're not that bad for 2006, but 2k7 looks way better than this game
Remember playing this every night with my cousin this was my first 2k and I believe this is the best soundtrack 2k has ever had it’s just so memorable and nostalgic
2k graphics have always been better than live graphics
The overall graphics for sure, Live 06 had good graphics as well, just the awkward animations made it look worse for sure.

first year on new consoles this seemed so realistic... it takes awhile for producers to cope with new systems which is why theres such a difference from this and 2k14 .. that being said 2k14 looks amazing on ps4 ad's now and im excited to see what future installments are gonna look like because I think the graphics in the games we've seen thus far are just the tip of the ice berg

All I know is nba 2k9 has the best Iverson player model…they never get his long arms or wire frame right anyomore like they did in 2k9. They also fully motion captured “his” signature crossover. I wish 2k focused more on signature moves like they use to in the pass

I can't quite say which ones are my favorites but I always go back and play 2K7 & 2K10, I only get on 2K11 for the Jordan challenges that mode alone changed the game.

Hauppauge HD PVR 60. I'd recommend the 4k one or an elgato hd60 s.
Every damn player has the same jumpshot animation in this game
This was before they gave players signature style when 2k7 dropped for ps3 & 360, I think on ps2 & og xbox they still all had generic shots and dribbles.

Why do the graphics look like a modern game?
They did a good job at the time of making player models and courts look good. Every first game in a new gen for 2k looks good then they start to slide.
