Crypts definitely has become one of my favorite aquatic plants. There’s so many varieties and they are easy to grow. Have you kept cryptocorynes before? Follow me on Instagram @ryowatanabee 😊
Believe me I have few crypts which I did reuse after re-scape and substrate change from my previous setup. They keep on sprouting new leaves, Crypt is the only plant which took so much abuse from me!
Undulata red grows big! I have some in my 45cm high tank it always reaches the top, start green and turns brownish red. Very nice plant that doesn't need alot
You should make a little shelf behind one of the tanks for the air pump. You can even get some with suction cups that can be stuck to the window behind them
I’ve heard that some people chop the leaves off their new crypts so the plant doesn’t spend time melting and instead focuses on putting out new leaves 🤷♀️
yes, can also be done for other plants. I do it with my swords, vals, most stem plants. if they were grown emersed* if they were submerged i leave them unless i know they're picky on ph and lighting.
Another great video Ryo! I love the process of making everything look neat and tidy. Plus how you think things through before jumping in and doing things in a hurry. Well done!
What if you used some Velcro that has adhesive on the backs and attach it to the green metal to the right of your tanks and use longer airline pipes? I think the pump would be light enough to be stuck up like that.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe by allowing the algae to grow in the tanks it will absorb nutrients from the water column for its own growth taking it away from the plants you actually want to grow
Hi Ryo since you are growing crypts in some of your tanks so why not put some shrimps like fire red shrimps as the clean up crew so you have less maint to do.
NICE TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE THAT LIKES ALL THERE CABLES HIDDEN.IM THE SAME.JUST IN THE MIDDLE OF BUILDING A RACK WITH 9 TANKS ON.TAKES A BIT OF PLANNING 3 LIGHT UNITS ECT.UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO USE 9 HEATERS THOUGH. 7 TANKS WILL RUN OFF AN AIR PUMP WITH 8 OUTLETS..GREAT WAY OF SAVING SPACE DOING IT THAT WAY..NICE TO SEE YOU PROPAGATE YOUR OWN PLANTS..NOT CHEAP THESE DAYS.I OFTEN GET 4-5 PLANTS 🌱FROM A BOUGHT PLANT.ILL DEFINITELY BE GROWING ON MY OWN RO…CARDINALS EVERY TIME 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🇬🇧
Your tanks are looking great Ryo. Would consider adding shrimp with color to add color to your tank. A shrimp variety that adds color and can help keep algae growth in check. I'd like to see the cardinal tetras. The bigger cardinals add more of a splash of color than the neon variety.
I'm visiting few famous fish stores. I noticed African chicilles and esp guppies in demand in sg. Myself I'm having guppy fishes, I studying them recently their behavious n quite amaging Ryo. I like to recommend guppy to you. Hope boost up your subscription. Heading to 100k soon. Congrats Ryo. I'm uncle ken btw.
For some reason, hard to find in LFS or petco's and the like. Only C.wentii and you are lucky if C.balansae shows up. All others you have to mail order. They live forever..makes them a bargain. I notice too? Crypts are very algae resistant..leaves stay cleaner then say Anubias the other slow grower...that lives forever.
Ryo, great video, as usual, a question regarding the Crypts Lucens, you mentioned that you normally would put in a root tab for just planted Crypts? Has this made a difference in growth? Thankyou and be safe
I’m not 100% sure as I haven’t tested without root tabs. All I know is that crypts take in most of their nutrients with their roots. So this is why I add root tabs
@@RyoWatanabee Well then that could be an issue :) Awesome videos by the way. Great videos to play during my tank maintenance also :) Glad you enjoy what you are doing!

Green neons would be perfect for your tank.
You should make a little shelf behind one of the tanks for the air pump. You can even get some with suction cups that can be stuck to the window behind them
You can also hang it from the stand with some tape or something like that!
Hooray for Cryptocorynes!!!
I’ve heard that some people chop the leaves off their new crypts so the plant doesn’t spend time melting and instead focuses on putting out new leaves 🤷♀️
interesting!!

Juryis does this
Tissue culture crypts don’t melt that much. Only one or two leaves might melt so no point chopping all the leaves off
Ryo Watanabe ok, good to know!
I like everything you choose. You are an inspiration.
I know you said it was only temporary but why not move the filter at 5.30 to the right side so you can tie the wire to the leg of the shelving unit?
Hoping that you keep guppies in some of your tanks soon. Who's with me?
guppies are my favorite
@@strikeout77777 same, most of my collections are different strains of guppy. 😍

Thank you Dean! I always like having my workspace looking neat because it makes me feel better about it for some reason :)
from one Pro to another :)
I agree with you....... Cryptocoryne are the best
Your setup is awesome 👌
I think silver tip tetras would look cool with the honey gouramis. Lemony and bright.
And I would get some Crypt Wendtii Brown so you can have some nice bronze color. :)
What if you used some Velcro that has adhesive on the backs and attach it to the green metal to the right of your tanks and use longer airline pipes? I think the pump would be light enough to be stuck up like that.
Neon so the gourami will pop out yellow green red blue in one tank very nice.
Crypts are my favorite i say go with the black tetras
Will be definitely adding crypts to my next tank👍
I'll always vote for Cardinal tetras. 😊
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe by allowing the algae to grow in the tanks it will absorb nutrients from the water column for its own growth taking it away from the plants you actually want to grow
I think you will be adding some cryptocoryne willisii into the tank!
Great video as always. I have become obsessed with crypts recently. I find myself on the internet looking for types that I have not seen before.

Cardinal tetras (or greens like someone else said).

Crypts, stones and wood : a fish home in mass production
100 tanks same set : equals a simple set for fish sets
green neons
Love your fishroom, i only have crypts as my aquatic plants for 2 years already started with 10pcs. Now they fill my 3 4foot aquarium.

I have the same fishes in the Netherlands they are called firetetras,in my tank they are very afraid ,if ii come near the tank they are hided.
the slight heat from your 4ft led lamp, might cause the double sided tape to defunct overtime, just becareful
I love cardinals and have them in my 29 gallon. So much more beautiful than neons in my opinion!
Your wendtii is looking good! I love crypts as a freshwater scrub they just make everything easier lol
The tanks are Healthy goodjob
Thanks
Awesome video mate, i have some amano shrimp they are awesome clean up crew, tanks are look great, thanks for sharing
Hey Ryo how many Amano shrimp do u have in the tank and how many litres is the tank and how long have they been in the tank?
Nice. Another good video Ryo.
ADA!!!! You hear me?!!! Hook this guy up!
What should be the desired substrate depth for growing cryptocoryne?
Cardinals 👍🏼
What about your tank in Singapore?
Galaxy rasboras will be great for the tank too
I will be getting galaxy rasboras for the cryptocoryne tanks above
@@RyoWatanabee 😁 nice!
60P looking much fresher with the glass pipes!
It gives it a clean look :)
Great video but have you ever tried a dirted tank?
What are the light green plants right at 0:50 on the drift wood?
Use a water hose for taking out the water of you're tanks, straight to the garden😉
Pink flamingo
Guessing crypt parva slow grower but can emdure lowtech, or flamingo the red ones needs co2 but worth growing in the tank
Do the gourami will not harm amano shrimps?
Neon Tetra and if Possible to have some rummy nose tetra
Put pea puffers in the tank
Awesome tanks! Keep up the great content love the videos
Thank you 😊

Im inspired. I won a contest for aquascaping and youre my inspiration. Thanks for the interesting videos Godbless.
I need one that my endler females wont eat... I put wendtii green tissue culture and they destroyed them all.. expensive fish food
Gotta go get some C. spiralis ‘tiger’ or ‘red’!!
I think Cardinal Tetras would look better with the Honey Gouramis. Love your progress
