Outstanding advice. Keep your gas tank full. Call 911. Do not stop. Do not drive home. Do not get out of the vehicle. Drive to a police station. Do not drive along side of the other driver. I once was advised by a police chief in my town that if I felt seriously threatened on the road to SAFELY disregard traffic rules. You can explain to a judge later if need be. Your life and safety come first.

Some years back, I went to Miami to visit my cousin, and we found ourselves in a situation where we had an angry individual following us. I was 17 at the time, my cousin was 31, and was a Marine. We got trapped in traffic, and the man behind us got out of his vehicle with a baseball bat. My cousin ordered me to climb into the back seat as the man approached the passenger side of the car. I jumped into the back, and the man smashed the passenger side window. My cousin already had his Colt Detective drawn, and fired two shots in succession hitting the guy once below the sternum, once directly in the left side sternum. The angry guy staggered backward and fell upon his back. My cousin was a real estate agent, and had a CCW, so was legal to carry a handgun. The perp was a multiple violent offender, and though my cousin was basically raked over the coals during the police investigation, he was cleared of any charges. No known reason for the random attack. I’m just glad that his training and situational awareness were top notch, or things could have turned out much differently!

That's why I hope my fellow Canadians will join me in voting for Pierre Pollievre who has at least said that we can keep our hunting rifles. I would like to see an extension of our firearms training course for people who want to CC or OC. Right now, all you can do in Canada is take your trigger-locked handgun in a locked case with ammo in a separate locked case and only to the range and back. Or same thing with the rife going or returning from hunting. That's about it. Can't even take it out of the house unless those conditions are met. (Unless you have a property with a proper backstop for range practice). It's beyond archaic.
Our current corrupt, lying, taxpayer's money-blowing POS, PM, Trudeau, wants to divide us further by race, gender identity and all that crap and turn Canada into a China clone as he says, "China is a dictatorship that works". I can't believe that Canadians didn't riot in the streets when he said that. People had a group sh!t-fit when told they had to wear an f-ing mask to protect everyone--just like seatbelts do--but they DO NOTHING when the PM says he wants to rule us like mice in a maze with him as f-ing King Fascist Autocrat (like JingPing). When my wife was single and living with her aunt and uncle in South Dallas 40 years ago, she was followed home late at night when they were out of town. She didn’t know any better so did drive up to their house but instead of getting out of the car and walking up to the door, which would have had deadly consequences, she laid on her horn and when the neighbors lights started coming on as she woke the neighborhood, he drove away. Then she did call 911 and the cops showed up and drove around the neighborhood for a few hours.
I thank God for giving her that idea, and am sure it saved her life.

The 911 dispatcher said to just keep going, but they can't do anything because no law was broken. Her exact words were "We can't arrest someone for driving like a jerk."

Yep, absolutely true. I'm a truck driver and I deal with road rage sometimes. I've had people in cars try to force me off the road or act like they're going to crash into me. I have a couple advantages over cars, but the principles are the same. Buy a dashcam and don't stop, go on through. It's easier to explain what happened to the police if you don't have holes in you.

      @youdidntseeanything8589 24 дні тому +5

      Long, long story:
I was on a long drive home one night, and there were few cars on the road at all. Ahead of me was a tanker rig, and it had a weird flickering orange light I'd never seen before, on its trailer.
As I finally began to get close enough to be able to make out what it was, his damn trailer's whole left rear tire assembly was ON FIRE!!
I had a heck of a time forcing his hiney off the road, I tell you what. Me and my little station wagon did it though.
I pulled in front of him and slowed down (not a brake check!). I switched lanes when he passed around me, and slowed down again.
I didn't know what to do, I was flashing my hazards, he'd get in front of me, and I'd hit my little turbo for everything it was worth to get back in front.
I swerved towards his driver's door side over and over, nothing.
This poor man probably thought I was absolutely insane.
This whole time, in the dead of night, not one other car passed us thank goodness.
He FINALLY slowed down with me in front, but switched lanes to pull his rig in front of my car. He had his hazards on this time, so I figured he wasn't going to pull off again.
I come flying out of my car, screaming and waving my hands over my head, yelling "you're on fire!!!""
The whole time I was freaking out, yelling at him (like he could hear me 😂🙄)
      JUST
      PULL
      OVER!!!
But I never once, thought to consider what kinda crazy y'all have to deal with on the regular.
Sometimes truckers are the worst of the worst on the road, but some of y'all are awesome.
Hey, long story over, do y'all ever get attached emotionally to cars that drive with you for miles and miles on the highway, passing all the same cars, moving over for all the same reasons, and get kinda sad when the exit one of y'all has to take separates you?
      Asking for a friend.

@kaypie3112 It is a lot easier and safer to turn right than left, and because four right turns makes you backtrack and drive in a circle, and there is no legitimate reason to do that unless you are lost or passed your destination. What do you think the odds are that the person following behind you is equally lost and going to the same place? Random turns don't conclusively prove anything. If you are not sure after one series of right turns, do it again a block or two later.

Years ago I was riding in my friend's car. (Both of us are women) We were just about to enter a narrow road off the freeway, when we got cut off by a scary-looking beater with 3 guys in it, who looked like gang members. My friend flipped them off. The guys stopped the car, got out and started towards us, yelling. One of them had a baseball bat. I remember thinking, What a stupid way to die! This wasn't even my fault! But the men suddenly froze and looked up at something behind us. Then I heard the words GET BACK IN YOUR CAR! Seeming to come from out of the sky. A VW Beetle convertible, directly behind us, had 3 UCLA linebackers sitting up on the rear seat backrest. A 4th one was driving. (Well, the bumper had a UCLA sticker on it, and they looked like linebackers) Our would-be attackers started to explain that they'd been flipped off, but once again our saviors roared at them to get back n the car. So they did. We thanked the linebackers, who were still so angry they barely acknowledged us.
Soon after this, my husband and I were driving in Pasadena behind a pickup. The driver was punching his female passenger and screaming at her. Traffic was slow but steady, and finally, she opened her door and threw herself out. Her assailant had to keep moving, but we were right there, so I called out to her to jump in the back seat, and we drove her to the police station.

Forty years ago, before the cell phone era, I was pursued by a belligerent. I diverted through a parking lot to see how serious he was about following me. Yup. So I drove to a street where there were no stop signs and floored it. He was on my ass. But when he pulled alongside me, I got free. I slammed on the brakes, pulled a u-ey and got away before he could react. On the way home, I felt something digging into my waist. It was my .38 pistol, which I had totally forgotten in the heat of the moment.
Twice in my life I've evaded ragers by braking hard, spinning around and leaving them in the dust. Even if they'd had a gun, that maneuver would've spoiled their aim.

Came upon 2 police cars, after high speed chase (100+ mph, over 5 miles, I was driving toward police station - couldn't use phone safely at high speed), while road rager tried to ram my car. I sped up just enough so he couldn't hit me, kept my 4 way flashers on, honking horn to alert other drivers on 2 lane highway. Swerved to emergency lane, to get police attention, and pulled over just in front of them (they'd pulled over after seeing me). Older officer came out, I'd gotten outside my car onto side away from highway. He started to ask me questions, and road rager ran past him, trying to attack me, yelling profanity at me (I'm 70, this happened last year). Officer put his hands up, to calm road rager, and told him to go back to his car. He did. Younger officer went back to interview him, while older officer stayed with me.
Then younger officer came back to me (older one went back to his vehicle), and started badgering me, cited me for unsafe passing on 4 lane highway (it was 2 lanes, private roads, where I'd initially, carefully passed slow moving road rager - who jumped out of his truck, ran at me, yelling, and as I avoided hitting him - I clipped the front of his truck), and I politely denied young officer's allegations - not true, and he hadn't been there. He kept insisting that I was refusing to sign the citation, I disagreed, said I'd sign it, but I was asking about inaccuracies. Felt he'd arrest me if I refused, too. He based cite on what road rager said. Not sure if it was due to me being a racial minority in the area, and they were both majority. Felt like it.
Afterwards, I drove to my auto body/ mechanic friend's house, about 10 miles away, to show him my car damage, but also to not go home, and have protection if the road rager still followed me. Good advice to not go home. I was still shaking. My mechanic friend helped me sell the car, since I was terrified the road rager, who lived a few streets from me, would recognize it and come after me again.
I also fought the citation in court, using 911 logs from other drivers, police report (though they wouldn't provide body cam), and won. It was dismissed. Older officer, like poster above, was great - but younger one was manipulated by road rager, unfortunately. I was still scared for quite a while, and stay home more now.
Sad state of the world, but true.

Show a cop the footage and it's a done deal. I would also suggest installing one not just in front, but facing back as well. Maybe this will give you more solace if you choose to drive again. @richardthomas5362 It's not us hitting the breaks. It's the collision avoidance system that will slam the tractor and trailer breaks on fully at the same time and slam us to a dead stop even if our foot is still on the fuel peddle.
I have this on the company semi truck that I'm currently in and it drives me crazy because it's constantly beeping an alarm in the cab everytime someone cuts in front of me and the dumbest thing is it messes up and goes off when I shouldn't basically seeing ghost objects and it starts to break or thinks a vehicle is in front of you heck it goes off thinking the markings for a crosswalk is a vehicle in front of me as I drive over it going thru an intersection.
It also kills my fuel peddle on me when it starts breaking which is dangerous as well because it's taking control of the vehicle away from me.
Also as far as the way it breaks it definitely shouldn't just lock everything up fully it should be sensing the distance and be calculating the amount of break pressure to be applied not to mention that way it locks everything up is that much more dangerous on winter roads as well.
I know another driver who had this system and was driving on a icy road in Northern Minnesota in the morning as the sun was rising and the shadow of his truck moved from the side of his truck and passed in front of him as he was going around a curve and it registered it as another vehicle and locked his breaks up causing him to go into a jack knife with his trailer starting to pass him up but he was luckily able to get out of it and get it back under control.

My daughter was recently driving home from work on the interstate. An 18 wheeler started tailgating, flashing light, blowing horn, etc, for miles. She called 911 and they patched her through to our local sheriff office. What the trucker didn’t know was that our local sheriff office and county jail facility was just a few more miles up the interstate from where they were. The deputies confirmed her location, and told her that whatever she did, do not exit the interstate. She followed their instructions. At the next exit there were no less than four sheriff deputy units waiting on her. She had stayed on the phone with them enabling them to identify her and the truck. They pulled him over in no time enabling her to get away from him. I got a feeling he won’t be coming this way again. We do things a little different in south Mississippi.

    • @jenjen2824
      @jenjen2824 26 днів тому +6

I wonder if she changed lanes and pulled out in front of him not understanding that an 18 wheeler can't slow down and adjust quickly like a car can. I'm glad she's safe but maybe you need to get together with her and educate her on how she drives around trucks. If she changes lanes in front of a semi she needs to leave a minimum of 20 feet between herself and the truck. If she doesn't then she may end up being the cause of her own death and possibly his due to him not being able to keep from running into the back of her.
I talked to a truck driver a few years back and he said this was the #1 problem that he faced as a trucker. He said the majority of people had no idea how dangerous, frightening, and frustrating it is when cars pull in front of them without leaving enough room. He also said when it happens enough times in a day, anger can set in and some truckers can start seeing cars as their enemy.

I sped up and they did as well. I was doing 70 MPH in a 40 zone and they were so close I couldn't see their headlights . I knew the road ahead went down a steep hill and then made a sharp turn to the right. I also knew the blacktop was paved into the ditch on the right for water drainage. The road had only one street light.
I drove down that hill faster than I should have and drove partially in the ditch to help me stay stable while making that sharp turn. So I drove to the police parking lot and pulled up closest to the police station as I could and waited for an officer to come out since they were still waiting behind me a few parking areas away. I had a situation like that happen to me when I was in my 20's, when some random guy started following me on I-71 between Columbus and Cleveland. For a while, I thought it was some random guy behind me, but then I sped up a little, he kept right behind me. I hadn't cut anyone off or had any kind of interaction, so I don't think this would have been anything more than a random encounter. I slowed down to beneath the speed limit, he stayed right behind me. I got to the top of a hill saw nothing on the highway until the next hilltop, so I sped up to probably over 90, he stayed with me. I slowed down to less than 55 (65 zone) and stayed at that speed for several minutes, he stayed right behind me. Then I started getting off on exits, and he'd follow me off and on again, and I started getting worried. Fortunately, the next exit had a sign, "State Highway Patrol". I got off and he followed me off. I then turned right towards the further sign directing to the State Highway Patrol, and he kept going straight back onto the highway. I waited a few minutes, kept on my way, and never saw him again. (pre-cell phone days, btw)

As a former uber/lyft driver with over 7000 trips provided. I can say for a fact that road rage happens and often times we have no idea why it starts. Or what they are upset about. If you can manage it safely open google maps and type in sheriff to get step by step directions on how to reach your local sheriff station. When you arrive, use your horn to honk out an SOS over and over. If you see police on the road do the same and make yourself as visible to them as you can. In an emergency, don't worry over much about the rules of the road, just get the police officers attention in any way you can safely do so. Flashing your headlights, using you four way blinkers, using your horn, stand out and be seen.

I have 2 stories. A mechanic's wife accidentally cut in front of someone. The guy followed her all over town and she decided to come to the shop and meet her husband there. The rager called his daddy who came to the shop as well and proceeded to reveal a gun in his waist belt. Police came and diffused the situation. All the skinny punk wanted was an apology. Fiasco over nothing. My second story happened to me. Long story short, I was coming from town to pick my daughter up at school. I got in a tiff with a guy speeding recklessly. Thought it was over only to find he was going to the very same school I was to pick up his kid. I managed to leave the campus before he did. My home was only a few blocks away. I'll swear to it before I turned off the main road, I looked in my mirror to not see him before turning off to go to my home, looking in my mirror constantly to assure I wasn't followed. As I was at my driveway entrance unlocking the gate, like some demon possessed freak with dark powers, he showed up, stopped and threatened me! I was wearing sunglasses. I just stood and stared like a creepy freak, saying nothing and watching intently as he went around the corner. I called the police and they said unless I see him going by my place again, there was nothing I could do. I saw him months later at a nearby convenience store. He gave me several looks. When I realized who he was, I just did the same silent, intent stare at him and watched as he drove away. I can only hope my silent, intent stares creeped him out and made him uncertain about what I might be capable of. I have since made a point to let the idiots continue in their stupidity and don't in any way try to give them their come-uppin's.

I’m on the road several hours a day because of my work and I run into incidents of road rage all the time. One of the best ways I can say that has helped me avoid escalation is a simple wave of acknowledgment. If you make the mistake it sends an apology of sorts and if it’s the other driver and they get a bit hostile it can send an “it’s not that big of a deal” message. I also never lay on my horn and use a 3 second max rule. If it’s just a close cut off or drift into my lane no more than a 1 second tap and if I have to slam on my brakes it’s 3 seconds so it also alerts anyone behind me and NEVER followed by anything other than a wave or the two hands up shrug gesture. Works very well.

The reason I am commenting is that I needed to use it the other day for the first time in several years when an inattentive driver from a side street nearly pulled out in front of me... my car must have been obscured by their front driver door pillar, or they could not see me due to the angle of their car mirrors when turning into the street.

I would normally use a credit card at the pump, but for some reason I decided to go into the store and pay with cash at the register- only $20.00. I got the gas and drove home, which was about 2 miles from the gas station. Someone had turned into my neighborhood right behind me but I didn’t think anything about it since it was time for people to be arriving home from work. I parked in the driveway and walked to my mailbox. The car that came in behind me made a U-turn and stopped near me. The person on the passenger side got out of the car, walked up very close to me and put a gun at my chest. He said, very matter of factly, “Give me your purse.” I did, of course. Thank goodness he got back in the car and they drove off. They had covered the license plate so I couldn’t get any of that information. I’m not familiar with guns so I don’t even know if it was real, but you have to assume it is. Also, I was not going to fight over a purse anyway. Since then I always remain vigilant everywhere I go and if someone turns into my neighborhood behind me, I do not go near my house. I drive until they park somewhere. I’m a Costco member and whenever possible I get gas at Costco where there’s an attendant and lots of people around. Stay safe everyone!

The worst road rage incident I encountered was when a group of idiots started messing with me on a country road. They stopped in the road and when I tried to pass, they pulled off. And did that a few more times.
Unfortuanty for them, I had just got divorced and was in a foul state of mind. Yes, I followed them until they stopped and we got into a fist fight on the side of the road. It was a stupid thing for me to do. I was outnumbered and although I held my own, I realized the position I had put myself in. I was about to climb into the back of the truck and grab an iron bar or something when they decided they were wrong and said something to the effect of "we thought we knew you, our friend drives a truck just like yours." I accepted that and got back into my truck and drove off. I only suffered a bloody nose myself, I still have no idea how much damage I did to them.
Yeah, it was stupid and they were stupid to stop. It could have been so much worse. Point is, I felt I had lost so much and at the time I didn't care if I lost it all. I'm glad I had left my pistol at home that night. That was ten or fifteen years ago and I cringe when I think back on it. I've had VERY AGRESSIVE angry men road rage against me... It's NOT a good feeling, and I feel very SORRY for the rude guys' wife and kids!! 😢It ANGERS SOME of them further because they dont get me freaked out (on the outside anyway).
I am so grateful for your site because I see others who DO FREAK OUT around these rude losers! ❤
I'm in my 60's now, but I grew up in a very rough neighborhood... We young women, at various weekly church activities, were taught how to defend ourselves... and though it wasn't "fun", I've always been grateful for the information!
When I was 14 or 15, coming home from an activity, and as my friends filtered out, one by one, I was always the last one to get home... A creepy powder blue VW "bug" kept passing us slowly and driving around the blocks... My senses perked up RIGHTAWAY... and I turned down the block before mine, thinking this "creep" would leave me alone... but he kept passing me... I got to MY road and JUST as I was in front of my NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOURS house, the "creep" parked in front, and as he started getting outa the car, I ran up and BURST THROUGH my neighbour's door yelling "HI"!! 😮 And as I turned and shut the front door, "creep" ran back to "blue bug"... shut his car door and quickly drove off. I explained what had happened to the family, who were THANKFUL I could trust them... After I made sure the CREEP WAS NOT ANYWHERE IN SIGHT, I quickly went HOME TO MY HOUSE... AND after I told my parents what had happened, they called the police. We NEVER saw that "blue bug" again!
I witness WAY TOO MANY innocent/dangerous actions by naive people... And most just say I'M PARANOID!! 😊 I could fill volumes about my experiences... But I dont waste my breath on some. I just know IF I hadn't been TAUGHT at a young age, I wouldn't have made it to the RIPE AGE I'M AT NOW! 😅 Thanks again!! 👍 😊

The most important thing to remember is that "road rage" is a form of temporary insanity. People will not act or react like what you expect. I'll give you an example. I was in my truck. I had a guy literally trying to run me off the road.... he was on a motorcycle. I'm not kidding. He literally tried to run me off the road by driving to my side and came toward me with his bike. That's an insane person doing insane things. Also always being armed will keep you calm in that you know if you have to, you'll be able to defend yourself. Keeping calm is one of the most important thing in situations like "road rage."

I always tell my wife, kids, and grandkids, "Don't act like a victim and you won't be a victim". Now that isn't a 100% truth, but I just want to instill in them the same things you're telling folks. It isn't paranoia to prepare your loved ones to be attuned to their surroundings and to train them how to deal with certain situations that could cause them harm. I don't want my loved ones to be in fear all the time. I want them to be prepared all the time.

I drove through a Towm with 50Kmh, and behind me was a black BMW 5 with Black Windows and Bulgarian Licens Plate. Bulgaria is poor AF, so if someone drive those Kind of Car with Bulgarian Plate, he is Rich or Mafia Member.
Outside the Town on the Country Road i floored my Car. Road was Empty, so i gave Full Power, up to 200Kmh and faster.
I dont even Thoght about the BMW behind me, but he could not keep up with me, and it looked like that made him Angry, so he started to Pursuit me.
On the Contry Road i could easyly hang him up, but than came the next Town. I keep the Speed Limit in Town, and he catch me back, becasue he Raged throgh the Town until he was behind me again.
After i realized that something is wrong here, i startet to drive senseless Circles, to see if he follow me. And yes, he followed me all the Time.
I dont wanted to drive Home, because than he would knew where i live, and where my Car is Parked. Maybe he want to stole it, i dont know?!
So i decited to drive to the biggest Mall here, drive on the Parking Lot, and Park my Car in the First Row of the Mall, where a lot of People are.
He drove across me. Leave the Parking lot, and drive away.
5min later i leave the Parking Lot to, and i was thinking, that maybe he wait somewhere for me. But actually he was gone.

I was merging onto a four-lane road when I noticed a car tailgating me. This was the first time I had seen this vehicle. It was driven by a woman probably in her mid to late 30s. She was slowing and then speeding up to my bumper. When I merged onto the four-lane road she continued doing this before pulling up beside me, cutting off a car in that lane. I could she was cursing and waving her fist at me. She then pulled in front of me, cutting me off and causing me to brake hard. She began braking and speeding up. I was driving an Infiniti M56 (420 hp) and she was in a mid-sized Mazda. I pulled out beside her in the left lane and put the pedal to the metal so to speak and took my car up about 85 mph (we were in a 50 zone) leaving her in the dust. I drove a few miles at that speed and got well ahead of her before reducing my speed to about 50. I moved into the far right lane as my exit was coming up. There was a pickup following me at a reasonable distance when I noticed the Mazda flying down the road 2 lanes over. When the woman saw me she tried to go over the 2 lanes to get behind me again. When doing so she hit the brakes while changing lanes, lost control of her car went into a speed wobble, and smashed head-on into a retaining wall behind me, almost being hit by the pickup truck. I was on my way to a tennis tournament so I just continued on my way without stopping as I did not want to miss the tournament. I could see that her car was a right off and she was probably injured. I can't help but feel that she got what she deserved.

As a single woman and having an adult daughter, these are AWESOME reminders! THANK YOU! My mom always told me if I feel like somebody’s following me or doing something to me on the road to drive straight to a police station. I’m never driven home when I thought someone was following me. Story time: back on 1996, I was about 19 and my sister-in-law and I were at the bar. When the bar was closed at 2:30 AM, we decided to go back to my apartment change clothes and go to the casino an hour and a half away. As I was driving home a street right before my house that I go down to get to the apartment was a car on the street parked with its lights out that caught my eye and it seemed suspicious even though it was really dark out and I’ll never forget it was a Beretta. I saw a man sitting in the car parked facing my apartment with a direct view, but it’s literally the street across the street, weird set up. As we leave and pass him, I wanted to see if he was still there he turns his lights on and he starts following us. I’ve always been very smart since I had to be on my own at 16 so I always notice and remember car lights, I noticed the pattern of them & what the vehicle looks like behind me. His lights were familiar all the way to the highway, which was about five minutes away. No one is out. It’s three in the morning by now. My sister-in-law is clueless and naïve. We get on the highway and this car gets on the highway with us and I decide to go the speed limit or a little over and he stays about four cars back going just as fast as me though. I noticed literally we were the only ones on this four-lane highway, and he was still following us past all of these exits so I decided to slow down and go 5 miles an hour on the highway because I wanted to see if he would pass me. He would not pass me for the life of him. He would speed up when I sped up. He would slow down when I slowed down he would come to almost stop still when I came to a stop still, and mind you, this is on an interstate. I wanted to get his license plate number. So he slows down with me for a while, but he sees I’m not going faster and I’m not planning on going faster. So after about 3 minutes of following me at my speed, he speeds up like a bat out of hell passes me, gets in front of me, and sidewinders all the way over to the right side to merge onto anoff ramp. I speed up like a bat out of hell to catch up to him to get his license plate number, which I did get it; once he realized that I was playing cat and mouse with him like he’s doing me, he felt he really needed to get off the highway because we were the wrong women to mess with. He figured two women by themselves would be vulnerable and since no one‘s out on the roads, he could pull us over he could bump into us. He could do something to make us get out of the car so he could either rape us kill us or both. We continued and went to the casino, but I watched for him. I drove slow so that I could watch my surroundings. I called the police and told them the story, gave them the license plate number, come to find out… that plate did not belong to that car!!! I KNEW it! So point of the story is that you don’t even have to have a road rager that’s following you, someone could be literally watching you and following you unbeknownst to you if you don’t pay attention. They could be sitting in a neighborhood waiting to see a woman by herself going to a dark home and then attack you in your home or attack you when you get back into your car and leave. This creep might’ve thought he could break into my apartment, even though I was on the second floor and you had to buzz to get in. This is just a story for any women that needs to hear this. Always look in your rearview mirror on a constant basis when you’re driving, so you can notice every car that is behind you, you can see a pattern of a specific driver. You can know the description of a car that you feel is threatening you and you will also need to switch lanes so you can get their plates and dial the police right away. This man probably thought we were going to be at home alone and he was going to come in and try to attack us. Unbeknownst to him, my mom taught me to be street smart but I also lived in neighborhoods where you had to be diligent and vigilant.

Thank you so much for sharing this as your wisdom is becoming more important by the day. I want to share a quick life experience to highlight why it's becoming more important.
I'm in the second half of my life, was born and raised in a large US city, and grew up with road rage around me while driving or as a passenger. Some of the situations have lasted with me to today as they involved someone driving at high speeds, yelling, rolling down the window, recklessly swerving or lane changes into my lane, or slowing down to match my speed as I kept my focus (trying to ignore them while using my peripheral vision) and gradually slowed down.
Starting at the age of 25, I started my journey of working abroad which included 13+ years abroad over the past 26 years, including some incredibly hazardous countries. I recently returned to the US and live in a medium-sized town in the Ohio Valley and I've have had two very close calls with drivers speedily passing me on hilly and windy two-lane roads with more blind spots and mostly designated as "no passing" with double yellow lines in the middle. Both came out of nowhere and cut me off coming dangerously close to the front of my car. I was driving 4 or 5 miles over the speed limit which was around 40 MPH due to the road conditions. They sped off, out of sight only for me to eventually be right behind them when entering a bigger part of town with more traffic. I was upset with the first situation because I had a loved one in the car, but I reminded myself that the moment had passed, that I should be thankful that nothing bad happened, and that we were safe and almost home.
I share this because you can do just about everything right and still end up in a bad situation that you didn't invite or ask for, all because of someone else's poor choices. I guess that's just part of life and is something that's uncontrollable.
This brings me back to what you shared and what I loved about it - stay within yourself and control what is within yourself to control (your thoughts, intentions, attitude, behavior, and actions). Finally, I love your point about driving with a full tank of gas (or at least a 1/2 a tank - fill up at a 1/2 a tank) as it's a very prudent thing to do for many reasons.
Thank you for your channel and wishing you and your's a blessed, healthy, safe, prosperous, and peaceful 2025!

Happened earier this summer I had my granddaughter with me, we were just trying to get on to the highway and I was signaling to get over so this guy next to my right corner decided he wasn't having it, so I sped up to get over and he nailed the back of my SUV speeding up as well, it wasn't because I was going slow or cut him off, he purposely sped up to nail me. we got on the highway and he sped up next to me giving me hand jestures through his barely visible tinted windows and he then sped up and pulled over the side of the road to get me to do the same, I sped up to the next off ramp and he pulled back out on the highway kept on my rear end after I passed by him, by that time I already had my .45 in my lap and a .380 in the seat next to I didn't branish either firearm, what stopped me from givin in to anger was all I wanted to do was go to the lake with my granddaughter like we planned, and we did just that, I still think of it today of how bad I could've blasted him as soon as he stepped out his truck, I just wanted to be left alone and not threatened and end up with some kind of trouble because I lost my cool, we had been threatened he could've easily ran me off the highway, God pretty much told me to be the smarter person.

Cars with dark tinted windows make me nervous. Can't see the driver, don't know what they are intending. Sometimes it's just a subtle movement that gives it away, if I can't see you then I don't know what you are doing. I don't know if you see me, I don't know if you are going to blow that stop sign/red light and T-bone me. I got T-boned by an inattentive driver who totalled my car a few months ago, he was stopped at a stop sign signalling for a left, I was also signalling for a left, I was going real slow, and I just had a funny feeling about this driver based on his body language. Sure enough when I made my move, he stepped on the gas and BAM! into my driver's side door. I was looking right at him the whole time, like what the F do you think you are doing? Well, that one wasn't road rage, but I did experience a road rage incident about 30 years ago on the interstate in broad daylight and again, being able to see the movements of his shoulders kept me from being rammed as I was able to take evasive action. It wasn't much, just a change in the angle of his shoulders that I caught out of the corner of my eye. He'd been tailgating me and signaling me with his lights and I finally got tired of it and moved into the other lane so he could have the right lane to himself if that's what he wanted. He sped up to be even with my car, and I knew right then from the way he moved inside his vehicle that he intended to ram me. I said "Oh hell no!" and deliberately went into the median, intending to make a U-turn back to the nearest exit. Apparently that was enough to satisfy him because he did not pursue me any futher. This was before cell phones. So yeah, if I can't see you because all your windows are tinted, I don't care if you are a harmless 90-year-old granny, I'm going to give your car the widest berth that I possibly can. I'm going to assume that the reason your windows are dark is that you have something to hide and that you have an attitude. I can tell you that if that car that had tried to ram me all those years ago had had tinted windows, I probably wouldn't be here writing this.

I try to keep my granddaughter in mind when I am driving, even if she is not with me. Because I need to be around for her, not be taken out or go to jail because of some clown.

I needed to watch this video. I am one of them intolerant drivers who react when cut off or in siruations where idiots drive wrecklessly and ignore road rules. I have been persued and taunted on a couple of occassions by angry lunatics on the road.
I must calm down when I'm behind the wheel ! Thank you.

Well, I have never encountered it and I do tell a lot of females, including family members what to do in case that happens but definitely you hit it right on the head. There are people out there who will do that and you could live in the best area the best town the best city it will happen it could happen. You never know a lot of people are going through a lot of mental problems and every little gesture that you do will tick them off. Good video.

His advice in this video is often stated to women driving alone. If you are driving alone and notice what looks like a man/men following you, do NOT go home. Drive to the most crowded place you can find as quickly as you can A large gas station such as QuickTrip or RaceTrac are good. Obviously if see a police car, that is a good place too.

If you live in the USA, exercise your 2A! Stay strapped, but be educated and reasonably trained for a civilian, practice enough as well. You never know and don’t listen to those whiny liberals who will tell you that you were looking for a fight or that the bad guy always wins. They don’t and decent people don’t go out looking for an opportunity.

Maybe it's time to give up your car keys. Many interstate highways are very crowded, and there's no place for aggressively slow drivers. They cause accidents.
