I like that in the books you see the consequence of Carl having to grow up too fast. By time he gets to Alexandria he can already tell it’s bullshit and doesn’t like it.
You see it too in the series, 6-8
@@TipoIrritable When? In season six he’s short in the head. They don’t show the consequences. In season seven he shoots up a truck. No consequence to his mentality. No consequence to the story. We already saw the sanctuary in episode three. In the rest of season he just shoots, moves and shoots. In season eight he shows a ridiculous amount of kindness which is good but we never got the fucked up mentality that most of us would have in the world if we were that young in it.
@@dutchvanderlinde6076Agree 100%. Carl Development in comics is way superior and More Realistic than the TV Show.
When carl got to Alexandria he might've matured faster but carl was 10 and in the show he was like 15.
@@dutchvanderlinde6076it’s more mellow in the show but u can see it how he interacted with the teenagers when they first got there and how how in season 7 he went on his own to kill negan dispute ricks plea for them not to do anything and eel with the saviours demands for now, but season 8 tehy messed up his charcter growth having him do a 180 to have them have a reason to kill him off and make his death important for the future of the show
I want an Animated The Walking Dead show where its everything same from the comics everything just the same
dude that would be amazing, with soundtrack, voice acting and animation sounds hype
@@Gio-kg4gb Yessssssssssss
But keeping Shane until the farm season was genius from the show.
@@teeveestudios8594i would agree if it was show shane
Same!!! A TWD animated series that's closer to the comics would be so dope. There's too many moments that were executed better in the comics
Fun fact: the comics and the telltale games are the "same" universe, and the prison Lee was supposed to go was the same one that Rick and the others found the meriwheter correctional facility
they also mentioned the guy that went to jail for “tax evasion” as the cop was talking about a serial killer they arrested that started begging for his mom.
@@jico5147 fun fact: Thomas Richards, being a serial killer was foreshadowed early on. Thomas claims he was in prison for tax evasion but that can’t be true as tax Dodgers don’t go to federal prison but to debtors prison.
And the cop that was driving Lee to jail was talking about Thomas, the glasses guy that attacked Andrea at the prison
@@jico5147 Thomas Richards!
They did Andrea’s character so wrong in the show
Andrea from the comics is literally perfect. I sobbed.
Kirkman did too, honestly. He explained afterwards how he full-on regretted what he did and cried over it. True story, check the letter hacks for issue 167.
@@ryanstarwalt490 her death was tragic
Comic book Andrea is my favorite character in all of the walking dead
They had to use like 3 different characters in the show to fill the roll that she provided in the comics. And even then you compare them to comic Andrea she is just written better then all of them, honestly crazy.
Rick is more better, smarter and stronger in the comics than the show
Nah, many people will disagree with you lol, Andrew potrayed Rick is better than the comic lol! Except Rick in the show is weaker but still I think he has the iq than the comic one!
Where do you read the comics?
I KNOW U. Nice vids keep it up
@@tysontheripper6896 there’s a UA-cam channel that shows and narrates the comics looks it up he has almost every issue

Thank you 🤝
I’ve read almost all of them, most definitely better than the show. The show will always have a special place in my heart, but the comics are just top-tier.
Jus got to issue 40 and already made up my mind that the comic is 100x better
@@Zenohhfr it’s super frustrating to rewatch the show and see how stuff like Andrea, Carl, or dale got adapted
@@SepticSafe_ what I also didn’t like was how they would bring in replacements only for them to die like 2-3 seasons later like for example Sasha was meant to replace Andrea then dies a couple seasons later like that wasn’t the point of the character she wasn’t just a filler
I got the compendium, and i was so shocked when everyone just died, so bleek
Where did u buy it
I really like how the art style changes a lot.
Bro, that first books and second looks nothing like the entire rest of the series. The second has some similarities but overall the later books certainly improved.
Well the artist for the comics got replaced due to it not fitting the sorta realistic aspect of the story and the original artwork was too cartoonish.
Comic books tend to switch artists if there isn't a set duo or the writer isn't the artist.
@@Yoo234that’s not what happened at all, the artist simply couldn’t reach deadlines due to his detailed art, and if he were able to reach the deadlines he most likely would’ve stayed on (especially considering that he and robert are friends). if he were going for realistic he also would’ve probably picked a different artist to replace the original one.
@@jico5147 Didn't Tony Moore file a lawsuit against Kirkman a while back.
Bro I got the compendiums for Christmas and the governor was 10x more ruthless than the governor in the show.
Comic without a doubt.
I want an animated series that takes the best aspects from both
I want a telltale game similar to that crap gamemill game where you can take the best from both and make decisions that change the story
That's the issue with zombie apocalypse genres, the appeal wores off the better they get at it.
What drew many people towards it was the absolute chaos, confusion & desperation.
This might not really do much to a gamer but to a viewer it does, when the struggle decreases, it becomes stale, repetitive human enemies aside, classic survival turns into base building survival.
i haven’t read the comics but i like how the show gives screen time to some characters that did not get much in the comics such as shane
On issue 42 right now, so close to the end of the compendium. So excited to see what happens on the road arc because my friend that it was his favorite arc.
I read the first 50 or more issues online and enjoyed it so much that I purchased the first two compendiums. The only downside to the first compendium is that some copies have a massive ink stain over some of the governor pages, but the rest was readable.
Where can I read it online?
@@Monkey-fo3wq Get Hoopla if you have a library card. I think the compendium is included on there.
@@Monkey-fo3wq readcomiconline is where I read the entire series
@@strannika4814 thanks cutie pie
@@strannika4814 Same here. I could've sworn I included that site in my second comment along side Hoopla. Oh well.
I finished the comics, can confirm it was INCREDIBLE
The walking dead comics are still the best your gonna get out of the franchise I believe, Robert Kirkman is a really good writer and I love how big of a focus he plays on Carl and rick’s relationship and I just love the character relationships in general. The characters feel so human and real and can really make me smile and cry. I think any walking dead fan who wasn’t read the comics is seriously doing themselves a disservice, the entire series was condensed into 4 compendiums
The only 4 things I like more about the show are Daryl, Merle, having more Negan, and Beta as a country singer instead of a basketball player turned actor and that one is almost entirely because basketball is the only sport I can’t stand playing or watching and slightly because I think it’s a more unique idea then “the giant guy used to play basketball”
I think in the comics it makes sense hes basketball player because hes freakishly tall, and athletic. Already comic negan is bigger than in the show, and Beta is still head taller. Its cool though that in show he has more unique backstory, and i think it fits the tv version well. They would have had to find actor size of Shaq pretty much to match the comic Beta in size
I'm on issue 39 right now. My favorite comic book series right now and I'm a huge fan of it. I'm absolutely obsessed and I hope nobody spoils anything for me. I got into the comics from the show so I'm just glad that now I'm a huge fan of it and I enjoy it way more because of the comics.
It’s also connected to the telltale games so that makes them 10x cooler
the game its cool too
Until Negan i do prefer the show a little bit more, but after that the show made one huge mistake after another, losing one major character after another and it became hard to keep watching, while the comics just kept on getting better and better after Negan
Ricks prison beatdown >>>
I’m watching them now and I’m up to where they get to Alexandria. In comparison I’m glad the show didn’t go the way the comics did when it comes to Carol and Michonne. So far I like the show better cause it’s tamer than the comics but I still love everything The Walking Dead so far!
The ending of the comics was perfect
Man rick gotta Protect Lowri and coraewl
Just tindisbed the third compendium it’s 🔥 🔥 🔥
So many people have done comic dubs...has anyone done a motion comic or the delux color version.???
I really hope Amazon makes an adaption of the comics in the same vane as invincible, but I kind of doubt it would ever happen
IMO the TV show starts better, but later the comic surpasses it.
Id say earlier on i prefer the show to the comics but after the prison is abandoned i lean more towards the comics
I completely agree I love the comics
Might be the only American comic I love
The things I would do to see comic Andrea on the show she was the goat man
I love the walking dead comics they are amazing I am almost done reading (volume) 1 and I will be getting (volume) 2 soon!
It’s time for an animated adaptation
The only reason the quality went down in the show was the budget cuts after every season
It's insane how bad of an adaptation the walking dead tv series is compared to the comic.
Govenor killed half of the fking prison group...
Im currently diving back into the show bc i had stopped watching at some point. After that, im gonna start the comics.
But in case of The Boys, it's quite the opposite. The show is miles better than the comics.
I hear that’s facts
Amen brother!
I don't understand why everyone hates the comic so much 😭, I agree the show is better but it's not by Miles the comics are still pretty good idk how people don't get that
the only part I hate about the comics is the way they handled the end of Rick
Comic is much better
The show should have been 3-4 seasons shorter. Change my mind
Vocal fry
When you do the next part to mightless a my hero academia story by the mysterious banana can you change the story a little
TWD Writers: "How do we kill the show? Ah yes, we need to kill off Carl so we can have a Sequel of Ricky G's and Negotiations ××× and the show won't fail. 😜😁"
Don’t ask what happened to michone in the comics number 48
Ohh yaa the governor in the comic's is hella dark poor Michonne and someone else I think Maggie poor them but ya when Carl shoot Shane got me by surprise to
The one thing I got a problem w the comic and the show
Negan and Maggie hook up don't make sense comic
Carl dies for stupid reason but still alive and bad ass in comic if they would have let Carl live with the whispers imagine how golden that would have been Rick would have been there to probably idk
also the only reason they took earl out was bc idk if it's TRUE I heard he wanted to go to collage and thr show was to much for him at the time to do both so he chose collage so thts y they killed him off also with Glenn to he wanted to leave the show they didnt want to kill him but he didnt wanna be on the show anymore so they had no other choice
I meant carl
@@shadxwgxdyou know you can edit comments right?
They did not want to have to pay him because he turned 18. He even moved closer to set, i think he also wamted to balance college but that i am not sure of.
There different but both great in different ways for example the governer in the comics start strong and dangerous but after a while he becomes a rated R looney tunes villans unlike the govener of the show which is amazing from start to finish
Why don't they make a animated tv series of the original walking dead comic book
Were do u buy pls answer
Dudes narration
I like the comics better but I'll never forgive them for what they did to Rick in issue 192
His death was not the most extravagant yes. But there’s meaning behind it, he died a martyr to his cause like many other great leaders and visionaries such as Martin Luther King, John F Kennedy, or Abraham Lincoln. It makes sense.
I read the comics and then read the books. It was better than the tv show 😂
Dale was the best comic version and same for carl
Why did Carl kill Shane in the comic books???
It would be better for Carl to kill Shane instead of Rick, it would have shown just how messed up the world had become and that even children need to adapt to survive even if it means killing another human.
Same situation, shane tried to kill rick but instead of rick killing him it was carl to protect his father. The show made rick do it and make carl kill the walker version.
@@grienardus12 I feel like Carl killing Shane is more impactful. It was the first time Carl was forced to kill another human rather than a walker.
Art style reminds me of the game
That's because Telltale emulated the artstyle of the comics because its on the same universe
Carl should’ve been alive in the show
Your eating tainted meat!!! Tainted meat!!! Tainted meat!!!!!
How is the comics book better than the "ADAPTATION" of the comic book.
It's not a live illustration so it's definitely not going to follow to plot of the comics it just takes parts of it and make its own story .That's why they use the word adaptation =change/adjustments (for better or worse)
I'm praying for anime 🙏
NO DARYL?
Amc just made him up for the show
Comic >> show
The show does Negan better and gives him more depth and satisfying character development instead of just being a one-trick-pony class clown, prove me wrong.
eh not really. i like the idea of him actually coming to terms with what he did as a person and living a quiet and peaceful life.
@@jico5147 Oh yeah, him not doing anything sounds like a real entertaining idea.
@@NKWTI ever heard of character development? him being some generic badass type character ruined him. the negan of the comics had depth and grew by realizing that all the killing was pointless and he was just digging himself into a corner. if anything the only character i would say is better in the show is glenn and that’s just because we saw more of him. all you want is some generic fast and furious bullshit. there’s a reason the comics better than the show in the end.
Carl should stay alive😢
The walking dead comics>>>>>>>
The show is better. It's not perfect, but it does correct a lot of mistakes the comics made. Like making Hershel likeable and a mentor instead of the piece of shit he is in the comic. Or giving villains like Shane, Philip, and Negan more compelling backstories and arcs. How about Carol? Comics wasted her potential. They also wasted Morgan. Bringing him back only to die soon after. The show gave him that great Eastman episode. The show improved Connie soooo much too. I could go on. They're both great but if I have to pick then the show IS better. And this comes from someone who read the comics first and then saw the show later.
Maybe season 5 but later end of the show comics are way better
The Governor was kind of weak in the comics, he was just extremely evil. A portion of the villains were also upgraded by the show. The comics does have more consistency and less filler than the show. The insufferable characters are also less insufferable in the comics, even Lori. Unfortunately, no Daryl.
we all gonna watch Rick show but everyone gotta say something ab the show decline
I never read the comics but i saw s video about the differences I think this shows better because they added daryl and in the comics they cut off Rick's arm idk why they would do that but the show is better in my opinion edit: does rick get a mechanical arm or something similar? cuz idk how he would be able to do anything he did the show with only one arm

You had to add Daryl's not in it at the end. Yep that's a nope from me.
Dude there was a time where you could have walking Dead without Daryl Dixon long before Daryl Dixon existed and it was the first 7 years of the comics original run 2003 to 2010.
Daryl is the most boring, bland, nothing character ever lmao. He literally just grunts for half of the dogshit show and people still dickride him got some reason
@@Bluerock121 daryl its maybe the worst character
comic is so much better then the show I stopped halfway through s9 and finally decided to read the comics and I just finished the final issue and its like a whole other series compared to the show it is so fucking good I wish the show followed the comics but sadly it didnt. Robert Kirkman is a phenomenal writer and the comics felt like a passione project compared to the show where it felt dragged out and like a cash grab the comics were so well written and ended perfectly. It is definetly one of the greatest stories I have ever seen I would 100% reccomened checking it out
yall daryl fans should read the comics then
Comics cus Carl lives
Story wise, comics, and the Woodbury novels, by far. Better character depth, and more little moments.
Charqcter wise, both have good and bad. Like Glenn, Andrea, Dale, and a few others in either one, but gove the edge to Glenn in the show, pver the panels. Andrea and Dale, comics were.better. Carol, the show. Horschel was also better on screne, but we are.talking Scott Wilson here. We lost him, we lost a great actor.
Jesus was also one that I liked in both, but feel we.were.ripped.off, with the show death.
Jesus's actor wanted off the show because he wasn't given enough screentime.
It's one of those works where they're comfortable showing women being graphically raped and nobody else but it's pretty good.
I’m sorry I disagree. The comic was mediocre. With certain issues being good. The comic had some bad writing by Kirkman, which felt like a 13 year old wrote them. Especially the relationships and the sex in the comic. It did Negan, and Andrea better. But as far as the rest, the show did everything else better.
The only thing I think the show did better was terminus. The termites were way better then the hunters
As a fan of the franchise as a hole the comic is better than the show and that's why I also like the telltale games because those takeplace in the comic universe to
I just don’t like seeing female characters get repeatedly r
The only think about the show that's better is Dixin other then that character the comic is way better
Mostly TV Show>>> Comic, Alot of Characters Survived, Daryl >>>> Some Characters From Comics.
No Daryl aight ima head out ✌️
Dude the comics started in 2003 and Daryl Dixon only existed in the show when it first started in 2010 there was a time where you could have walking Dead without Daryl Dixon before Daryl Dixon even existed
Daryl is such a boring ass fucking character. If he was a woman everyone would call him a Mary sue
Can we please stop saying "it went down in quality towards the end"? Like go back and watch seasons 9-11. They are fantastic seasons. The show dipped in 7 and 8 bc they drug out a 1 season story into 2 seasons (although i think it is better than cramming a single season) but my goodness this show is still fantastic quality in the last 3 seasons
they really aren’t though and it shows through just how much it diverts from the source material, and while they couldn’t, and shouldn’t strictly stay on track with the comic, the show was clearly hurting from the original ideas used in the show. they also just don’t know when to finish the story, something rober kirkman knew how to do.
@jico5147 I'm not saying the show is better than the comics but people act like the show is awful, and as someone who took 3ish years away from the shoe, and came back to watch the last 3 after a long break, I was incredibly invested in the story and the characters. If you can get that invested with the story, then i dont see how people can say it is indisputably bad.
@@mouthy_maestrod2992 it’s possible to like things that others don’t like, sorry if i came off as i was stating a fact in my first reply, considering there is no right or wrong answer in stuff like this. i just believe when comparing the show to what we could have had, it doesn’t live up to the source material.
@jico5147 yeah. I'm not saying you have to like it, i just don't like when people say that shows went down in quality bc the actual production (and in my opinion writing) was solid through to the end
@@mouthy_maestrod2992 i feel as though they’re really dragging out some characters in my opinion. i personally prefer the definitive ending of the book (but i won’t go over the ending in case you haven’t read it and don’t want any spoilers)
The show improves on a lotta stuff in the comics like having the group attack Negan’s compound first before meeting him was a big upgrade
The show ruins even more stuff than it improves. It is genuinely terrible at points. The comics are way better
the show is amazing but I enjoyed the comics better
The Show Was Still Better,
1. More Characters survived.
2. Daryl >>> Comics.

@@ellcaf Yo Wtf That Mean!?
Nah the comic are just as average and mediocre as the show it has some dark and gore elements to it but it feels like sometime it’s written by a 12 year old the story and writing overall is average, Andrea and Negan are the good and better than the show about but for the show the Governor and Shane are much better but overall I just don’t like it due to its uninteresting storyline and the narrative structure are generic and overused but the characters are better but some of the villains in the comic feel one dimensional like the Governor they look like psychopaths but other than that they have no goal or any proper motives and are just evil for the sake of the story and are just there to break the protagonist they lack depth and meaning for the story just a typical one dimensional comic villain
This franchise was always overrated from the start.
Rick is more better in the show than the comic. I'm glad they didn't make him have one hand in the show
The loss of his arm made him a better survivor and it makes him more capable than show rick.
@@daviddelligatti9052 No because he would get his ass kicked by Negan. The only way Rick could fight is if he kicked or bite. Kirkman regretted cutting off his hand and he didn't want them to do that on the show.
