I was one of those few who liked the first version. Had no issues with it. The shoe is still alive, and kicking! I believe I'll fall in love with v3. Awesome job Asics!
I still run in the original novablast as my daily trainer. I’ve also run 2 half marathons in them and done well each time. My only real complaint is that they are incredibly unstable when turning- but I’m glad they addressed that issue in the newer editions of the shoe.
Loved Novablast 1. There are some popular shoe reviewers that gave the NB1 a bad rap, but overall they were great. I never thought about instability until other people started citing popular UA-camrs. The first steps in the Novablast 1s were a sensation that is rare - immediately I know the shoe was different. 99% of shoes just feel like every other shoe, but Novablast 1 stood out. Have gone over 600 miles in NB1 and NB2 and am just 50 miles in to NB3. So far, still prefer performance of NB1, but NB3 is the better shoe.

🏃♀🎽👟thanks for putting this video together -- can't wait to try these out. This morning I woke up (new runner) saying wow do other runners just some time not want to run? I told my partner I know to motivate me during my run I will do a podcast from The Drop and it was the 100 episode with Keira...10 seconds in Robby talking about his ankle, etc -- it was such good timing -- but sorry Robby about your ankle. Thanks for all the great content you put together on UA-cam and your podcast!!🏃♀
If you're someone who wears ankle socks (no-show socks), please wear longer socks when you run in the Novablast 3. The tongue of those shoes are thin but sharp and caused cuts (like paper cuts). There's always something to dislike about each Novablasts. Novablast 1 caused heel slips easily, Novablast 2 was stiff and Novablast 3's thin, sharp tongue.
ASICS indeed has the Shoe of the Year here. This shoe is a HOME RUN and I’ll be purchasing 2 pairs as soon as they hit the market. Great video. Thank you.
not a fan of non padded tongues. the tightness on the top of the foot from lacing them up is not ideal. this shoe would be perfect with a padded tongue
I wonder how different it is to the Novablast 2. I recently tried some on and they were comfortable, nicely cushioned and felt light enough. However, having tried the invincible run I felt a very small amount of bounce when made them seem a little boring compared to the hype around them. The did feel more stable and nimble though. I wasn't wowed and felt like they were good rather than incredible.
Speed 3 leans more towards daily trainer so the gap is closer in regards to feel, but this is still more of a daily trainer while speed is more of a tempo shoe. Both really great shoes! But novablast is $30 less too, so...
this is a great shoe!!! everything is great except the fit, I've been struggling to find the right fit, they are long, first I ordered my size 28.5 cm in Mexico which I saw on the label is 11 us ... I don't understand why, then I went for 28 cm 10 us... what the hell is going on... isn't there a REAL 10.5 us ship to Mexico? is there so in the US? ... of course the 28 cm 10 felt tight. When I bought my first pair of Novablast (the 1 version) I ordered 28.5 cm in Amazon, I received a 28.25 cm 10.5 us and felt GREAT !!! Do you guys know if Asics sizing for Novablast 3 remains just like the 1 version? ... would you recommend to buy them in US, let´s say Asics US or Running Warehouse?? I really appreciate your help.

Love the feel of these under foot but even though I don’t have a wide foot, the toe box feels narrow and the taper pushes my big toe inward. Any one have recommendations on a shoe with similar feel under foot that may have less taper along the big toe and more room for it to splay?
We have had SC Trainer since April. Rebel V3 may not be a ‘22 relaease, and We have had More v4, and v6 for months as well. More v4 would fit into our max cushioned category if it gets an award.

Retired my original Novablasts today at 524 miles. I want to retire my original Gliderides at 654 miles but honestly they still feel better than some of the other shoes I've been using with far fewer miles on them. Definitely worth buying for the overall build quality and longevity. Outsoles are amazing, look untouched vs Hoka et al.
I cut the grass in my old Novablast 2s (retired @654 miles) and they feel better than my Rebel v2s w/half the miles. Endorphin Speed 3s arrive tomorrow, but still waiting for NB 3 release date.
@@Zuahaitac I now have 114 miles on my NB3. Overall, they have been great. Outsole is nearly perfect still, but a bit more slippery in wet conditions than the NB1 or 2 were. The midsole is great, but it is wearing out more where it is exposed on the outsole, which is not a big deal really. The upper is great - best of the series so far, but I would prefer less padding and bulk to save weight… although at that point, I'd be in the market for the Edge series instead I guess. I took most of October and November off, just 1 or 2 runs a week. I came back a bit too quickly in December, and am now experiencing plantar fasciitis my right heel. I do not blame the NB3 for this, but I did notice that my Saucony Endorphine Speed 2 and 3 didn't cause as much pain leading up to having to take a week off to recover now.

Great review guys! Quick question - if I'm an 11.5 in the Metaspeed Sky, would you recommend staying with that size for the Novablast 3 or still going down a half size? Much appreciated!
I wonder if this year's edition is worth another look after finding the Novablast 2 disappointing. That shoe felt mushy, especially with the geometry in the heel popping off the ground like a stuck suction cup, and I pronated pretty badly in it. It became for walking only. Still, the Novablast 3 is the nicest-looking shoe I've seen this year.
Running shoes are like food, we have individual taste. Novoblast 2 is my favorite daily trainer. Mushy to you is soft bounce and energy return for me. All the best in finding a shoe that works for you. Perhaps firm ground contact shoes.
Always a great review from Meg and Thomas. Can't wait to see the colorway options Asics will offer. Now what about the New Balance Rebel v3? I've got a feeling "Shoe of the Year" is going to be battle royale. When will you do a review of the Rebel v3? Thanks!
@@Believeintherun The Rebel V3 is actually available in stores here in Singapore. In the same way the Novablast 3 has been available in Taiwan already. I find this an interesting strategy by the companies to have soft quiet launches of the shoes is certain markets before the worldwide official release.
Hello Meghan and Thomas! I have a pair of questions on this shoe.. Is the version 3 LE any different from this og V3? I have just bought the Novablast 3 LE mainly for the purpose of doing my lung runs on them and a half marathon next month, do you think they'll work for that?
Seen many videos where they say you should have the T version on the trail. But the usual shoe works great on trail. Ran 48 miles (30 km) in the woods today. Not slippery at all. And big gravel for Tractors are not felt underfoot. Good shoe.
Just sharing for those interested as I believe many have similar concerns as mine....biggest drawback(s) i come across is folks complaining that it is rather slippery in the wet, and perhaps that it is just AHAR outsole and not tAHAR+. We do get a fair number of rainy days here (it's actually raining now) and was my concern. Bought the TR and am glad to share that there are no issues cornering 90 deg in ~ 3m radius @ 10kmh, on wet outdoor tiles, tried many times already like around 100+ corners due to usual place that i usually run at. The thicker AHAR outsole also makes it a good value shoe for the mileage that you can squeeze out of it (i got it at usd 120). Also, my wife and I could not feel any weight difference between the 2 with holding both versions in our hands at the same time in the store. With that said, i don't run on mud and it probably is not a serious trail shoe. Not a pro runner too.
I used Amazon try before you buy and I tried all high end shoes like nimbus 25,Hokas, Sacucony Speed 3 and other models and many more. The speed 3 were the best until I got my final try, it was the novablast 3 and they felt even better. I decided to keep the novablast 3 out of all the ones I tried, I think I ran on 20 different pairs, but the novablast3 were much more comfortable while running. The speed 3s were also very good so it's a toss between novablast and speed 3s. But novablast wins.
Great review thanks, would you be interested in doing a nova 3 comparison with glideride 3. I’m sure they are for different things but I’m not clear what they are
These just arrived to my door today and I agree they run long. I haven’t run in them yet but they feel comfortable and I am trying to decide if I should order my street shoe size of 7 or stick with my usual running shoe size of 7.5. Like Meghan my foot is a tad wide at the metatarsal area. Love your reviews!
I’m a size UK 10.5 and everyone keeps saying order half a size down. Want to get the Novablast 3 but concerned about ordering a 10 cus normally always 10.5 in every shoe but don’t want a running shoe that’s too long.
I have been running in the 2 for a while, mainly on recovery days, but it feels the drop is too big for me, almost like you are slapping your foot because of the drop and it lacks a bit energy return it seems.
To my Muslim brothers, just a heads up that this shoe has a pig skin lining. This applies to most premium asics and New balance models. Be sure to check first
I want to get these shoes but I had bought my Nimbus 24s literally two months prior to the Novablast 3s releasing. So I’m trying to get the most out of them and kinda waiting til winter nears the end as well
I wish it was better looking. I really liked the look of the 2, but, aesthetics aren’t as important as how they feel so hopefully, it feels as good as you say it is.
They took one of the best most aesthetically pleasing running shoes silhouettes and paired it with hideous uppers so that it could still qualify as a “running shoe”
Just bought a Hoka Bondi 8 yesterday. I’ll be curious to get some of these NovaBlasts and compare the two. They seem to look very similar as far as cushion goes.
Great review! Happy novablast 2 owner here training for my first marathon in late november! Since i'm not a very light and fast runner (73 kg and targeting the 3h 30' range for the marathon distance) probably won't need a CFP shoe.
Glad I got mine yesterday at a fantastic $80. Cushioning beats any previous Nike, NB or Adidas I had. Will test out 50km before any further feedback.
Nice review - can’t wait till Sept 1st
To my Muslim brothers, just a heads up that this shoe has a pig skin lining. This applies to most premium asics and New balance models. Be sure to check first
That fat stack of midsole FF Blast+ looks good enough to eat! Can't wait until I burn through my final Novablast 1 spare pair. They last forever.
Will def cop,had the version 1,skipped the 2. Those colorways are ugly as hell, can't wait to see others
Ive owned 3 pairs of the original, and this third one looks like a serious winner. Can't wait to pick it up
Still the shoe to get??
So weird, I go up a half size for asics. I normally wear a 10 but my ASICS are a 10.5. I can't imagine going down a half size from normal
Update: Just pre-ordered a pair! I am going to use this shoe for my Long Beach Marathon on October 9th. Woot! Woot!
I want to get these shoes but I had bought my Nimbus 24s literally two months prior to the Novablast 3s releasing. So I’m trying to get the most out of them and kinda waiting til winter nears the end as well
Novablast 3 or Nimbus 24 for everyday walking and jogging? 🤗🤗🤗
Hello guya i wear a 9 2e would you recommend to stay on size 9 or go half size up thank you
Just bought a Hoka Bondi 8 yesterday. I’ll be curious to get some of these NovaBlasts and compare the two. They seem to look very similar as far as cushion goes.
If Hulk gets a pve uni the PvP players won't buy it and will only t4 him.
It deserves the titke Shoe of the year award.
So comfy & versatile.
I Cant wait for the Rebel v3 & I hope it doesnt dethrone the Novablast 3.
Good evenning believe in the run and all the runners. Excellent review. Here is my like. A nice week for everyone. ☀️🏃♂️☀️
One reviewer said when the ground is wet this shoes becomes very slippery . Is that true?
Great review!
Happy novablast 2 owner here training for my first marathon in late november!
Since i'm not a very light and fast runner (73 kg and targeting the 3h 30' range for the marathon distance) probably won't need a CFP shoe.
Do you think Nova 3 is enough for marathon distance or should i try something like endorphin speed 3?
