Be ready to work jobs on a 6 - 10s schedule, Monday through Saturday 60 hour work weeks. You won't be on this schedule all the time, but be ready for it when that time comes, good paychecks come along with that schedule

As a 3rd year apprentice in this program I feel this is an extremely accurate depiction of what you're getting into as an apprentice. EMBRACE THE SUCK!

If you mean pay, that varies from local to local as COL is different everywhere. I am able to work with my 20.60 an hour pay + union pension, annuity, death benefit and health care.@@illdoctrine9329. This is in local 490 which is new hampshire, our pay is based on how many hours worked you got and you get 5%-10% increase every hour milestone you cross.

Heard you'd have to wait like 2 years to even get a shot at an interview for apprenticeship.

E P depends on your location. I live in Western Mass and there’s far less applicants over here compared to our Boston counterpart. About 400 people apply each year and they accept 20-25, whereas Boston has thousands of applicants hoping to be apart of that 25.

    • @mikenormandy9250

Depends on the Local - Some are WIDE open. Mine only take 30-60 of the 2500 applicants a year...There are guys working pre-apprenticeship programs for 2/3 years before they even get an interview or pass the test! - Good luck if you're trying to apply it was the best move of my liftime...

I know some dudes who turned out to become great electricians and were even well liked on the job who were ex-law enforcement. What is more important is that you give a damn about your work and everything else is just noise.
