I’m really glad that everyone’s left ear enjoyed this video, I promise to include the right ear in the fun next upload as well as spell “storage” correctly.. I must’ve accidentally clicked something in Resolve that I wasn’t aware of, trying to see if there’s a way for me to fix this without having to delete and reupload. If you have any suggestions please let me know!
Happens to me a lot. It’s usually when you have mono audio from your mic and put it on a stereo audio track. Easiest to just make the voice track mono 😊 !
A few suggestions - Put the P1S on the first drawer of the rack. No need to lift the height of a spool laying down. The room thats left will be on the top and there you can create something to store the filament. That way you will also have the extra space thats left to the roof - Remove the zip ties and design 3D printed hooks to put the cable in :) You can use double sided tape to stick the hooks with to the rack. - Not sure about this one, but you can probably put the build plate storage under the AMS storage drawers Love to see your channel grow. Keep it up and good luck with your new print farm:)
The RepRack is a great way to store your extra filament and has lots of community mods already including ways to print with spools right off the rack. The project is almost entirely printable except for some screws to anchor the cleats to your wall, some plastic thread forming screws to keep the conduit secured in place and then 1/2 inch EMT conduit which is about $5 per 10ft length at big box home improvement stores.
For a solution to the runner poops, just print a nice little wedge or curved quater pipe style ramp aligned with the chute and viola, it'll fall right in. Can use double-sided tape or fashion some other securement to keep it from moving
one cheap solution for the bottom is get a ikea shoe tray and slide it in and out with filaments in it, it will be even better if the space can fit a samla (box with lid), it can help keep the filaments dry
Workshop upgrades always hit the best; nice job! How's the camera working out? I bought a camera for one of my A1s and I'm between getting a new one for each printer (1 A1 mini and 3 A1s) or just having one camera above them to watch over. I also just grabbed a bunch of bambu's PETG-HF and another AMS lite to dedicate just to that so I plan on printing that AMS lite enclosure you have. One thing I thought of for collection the poops is to get a small shop vac to dedicate to the task; I'd use some ducting as you did to route all the poop chutes to a single intake that goes back to the vac. Then I'd use one of those analog on-off christmas light doohickies to turn the vac on every so often for a minute or so to clear the poops. I got the idea from one of the CNC guys who doesn't like to have the vac running the entire time the CNC is doing its job.
I've been following your channel since buying an A1 late oct this year. The AMS Lite enclosure video made my decide to print one, your video's are very well pet together and are thorough enough for my liking. As a fellow corner-haver you'll never guess what kind of shelving system in Scandanavian style I put together last weekend!
The IKEA Vesken is an amazing filament rack. It hold quite a lot of spools and makes everything easily accessible. I would definitely recommend if you have the space.
I don't have a lot of filament reels but I store them in a large transparent plastic tub where the lid clamps down and I have a desiccant tub in there which is meant for use in wardrobes to keep clothes dry in humid environments (cheap buy from the home store and apparently the moisture drips down into the small enclosed tub, I will have to have a look at it to see how it performed since I didn't check for a few weeks). Some of my old PLA material became brittle so I think that all materials need to be kept in dry air. When I open the tub lid, the air inside feels noticeably different on the hand skin to the outside air.
Is that shelf from ikea stable enough? Looks little flimsy, i trying find someting similar for my a1 mini and a1 kombo! Got 20 min drive to ikea mayby it worth a look
I have a very similar set-up for my A1, A1 Mini, & X1C. I had to end up moving the A1 from the top shelf to the bottom because the A1 shook the entire stand when it was at full-speed. My stand doesn't have the cross brace in the back that yours does, but if you see a lot of movement, you might have more success going A1 mini, P1S, A1 from top to bottom. I am glad you pointed out too how deceptive the A1 and especially the A1 mini are in terms of space. Those Bowden tubes need more room than you think!
I have a corner too. One corner is my W2 job office, one corner is my personal office, one ocrner is a book shelf, one corner is the x1c, my A1 is on a folding table in the middle of the room, and my larger format stuff is in the literally freezing garage.
@@jet_lea also for filament, I'm holding on off on doing this myself as we may move at the end of the school year, but next summer I plan to get PVC pipe and make a shelving unit with 2 rows of PVC for each row of spools. I saw someone do it a while back, maybe Macy Makes, on their channel.
Very nice! Funny thing is I'm working on a station for my A1 combo and I can see some features I'd like to pick from what you've done. One point that could be improved would be the bottom part of the shelving. I'd suggest building 2 drawers or one wide with HD slides for the spools. The height should be sufficient for keeping the spools in bags standing up. It gets pretty old pretty fast having to kneel down and remove half of the spools each time one wants to reach to the back... I'm more of a woodworker hobbyist though. Easier for me to customize this!
For Filament storage Ikea vesken woks fine for me one carrier cost 7 bucks at ikea with 3 trays and rolls. you can fit 19 rolls in there and see what you got from the side. And you can roll them around.
Nice to see the new things that you are doing trying to do the same thing myself so it was nice to see a smallish setup. Mine is a Neptune 3pro one P1S with AMS and 2 A1’s with AMS lite, not to bad for a 62 year old computer nerd lol.
Please read this jet. I love your videos. But I recommend getting a deburring tool for your bad prints. It can clean up edges and make your prints look nicer (and so times function better). I got mine in the plumbing section at Home Depot. For your poop shoot I recommend adding a slanted (about 30m) print so the extra poops fall in the funnel. I can’t wait to see this later! Ik you have tried to fix Audio, ty for mentioning it! This is totally your opinion. I make logos and I want to know if you will be willing to get my discord or smth and I can design a logo for you! Completely free of cost. Maybe upgrading your logo can help! Your videos are truly amazing and I can’t wait for more uploads! *Also I can help you make a discord server for your fan base. I used to be a discord mod.* Have a great day Jet! please respond 🙏
I would suggest removing the very bottom shelf. Then place your filament in plastic storage containers on the floor. Then install your first shelf above the totes. It would give you an extra 3-4” of room.
You could definitely make use of the A1 modular poop bucket, also one of the AMS lite Spool Removal solutions. All available on maker world. I also reached out to you on Maker world.
what i wouldve done for the poop is just let the upper funnel shoot down into the lower funnel which is piped up to the bag.I think this could have saved a lot of filament
Greetings from Shanghai, China! I don't know how much your filament dyer cost you. As to the filament dryer, what we do in China is to buy a fruit dyer/dehydrator(干果机in Mandarin), I just order one that can hold 4 spools and it cost me around 70 RMB(roughly less than $10). But fruit dryers I can find on Amazon don't look spool-friendly at all.
Should be able to accomplish later revisions without using the pipes on the A series. Just focus the funnel enough to drop straight into the next poop collector
You know.... you could... uh.... 3D print anchors for those zip ties and use doublesided tape to secure them to the inside of those rails. Thats only *IF* you had a 3D printer. just sayin... :D
Nice set up. Though I thought tpu and abs should be WELL vented (outside). I hope you are doing so and also not doing this in your sleeping space. Google that sh**. Youre putting your health in danger, just sayin'.
