In a community that’s saturated with a lot of the same Sims content, it’s always a breath of fresh air when your videos pop up in my subscriptions. You’re always so creative, James, and one of my favorite simmers.
Wouldn’t it be fun if we had an AI function that turned pictures of real people into sims that look as similar to them as possible? It’d make creating yourself in CAS way easier 😃
They had something like this in the very first Sims game, but of course, the sim generated from the photo was of terrible quality…what can you expect from 2000s graphics 🙈

You could do like a CAS telephone game where one person makes a Sim and runs it through this, then the other person makes a Sim based on that image, and then compare at the end to see how close they got! If I knew anyone else who cared about Sims irl this is absolutely what I would do lmao

This was fun to watch! Other sims with interesting facial features: Arun Bheeda, Venessa Jeong, Judith Ward and Jacques Villareal. Plus I’d also like to see Penny Pizazz and Thorne Bailey.
My most predominant thought while watching that was, "If I can use this on sims from older games it will make it easier to make them in TS4. It won't be perfect of course, but I think it would really help in identifying some of the predominant features in a way that translates to TS4, especially after seeing Bella and Cassandra from The Sims.
when hazel ages up you NEED to give her that bob cut, like she cuts her hair cause helping out with the farm takes alot of time out of the day and doing her hair has gotten annoying so she goes for a fun change! please please please remember to do this!
I like Deli's idea of creating her sim as close to her like-ness to see how good it comes out. Or you could try to recreate a famous person's face to see how close you can get to the real thing!
I enjoy watching both Deligracy’s and your videos individually, you both have great personalities and seem so natural in front of the cameras. I’ve been watching both, individually, for a few years now. However, the videos with the both of you together? Absolutely some of my favorite videos. A joy to watch, and I just wanted to say thank you, to you both. Edited to fix typos.
I think the thing with the earrings is the AI is putting together parts of different photographs that are similar to the picture, but it doesn't know about or try to detect earrings. So it will use whatever ear photograph is the most similar in shape or colour, and if that ear has an earring, the image it generates will have the earring too. AIs like this are biased and limited by the data they're given. This AI will have been given a set of photographs of real humans to work with. If a lot of the humans in those photographs had earrings, and it wasn't "taught" what earrings are, it will tend to put earrings in images where they aren't needed.
I figure this was why the lips often ended up parted too. It would've just tried to find lips of a similar size and doesn't acknowledge details like teeth? It'd be interesting to know what the original faces were like and see the parts in every Sim transformation.

I love how Hazel was supermodel gorgeous (did we expect anything less?) and then Trenton has this adorable baby face, love that for them Granted I think part of why Trenton looked a little weird is because the screenshot got an exact moment where his features were close together, making the baby face worse. He’s usually a handsome guy.
You should take some of the celebrity sims from gallery and see how close they come to the actual celebrity. Also, Delis cold ring finger move 🤣 and James is such a good sport taking it in stride!
Vlad in his human guise was definitely my favourite AI transformation, he actually looked REALLY good! I could see him in a movie alongside the Joker 😂🙌 That last one though of Bonehilda....I think I need to watch something else now to wipe my mind clean of that image before bed just to be safe LOL! I do not desire to have any visits form her in my dreams thank you very much! 🤣🤣🤣

I assume that eyes and ears are the hardest to 'fudge' for the program, so it just takes whichever looks the closest from its database but doesn't change all that much (remove ear rings or change eye color). We are also naturally paying way more attention to someones eyes, so they're way more likely to strike us as wrong in the pictures. A lot more features would be 'wrong' but we let that go way more easily. (That's my explanation for it anyways, I have no idea xD)

The fact that the tool always defaulted to brown eyes and didn’t recognize redheads has probably a lot to do with what they fed the AI with. Probably mostly people with brown eyes and not many redheads
Now we need a real-time version of this that runs on top of the game to turn your played sims into photo-realistic rendered people like they did with GTA V! XD

I think the reason some features r off is cuz its trying to splice together pictures that alrdy exist. So some things may be misshapen or added/subtracted to make everything fit together as best as it can
Great video James, I'm surprised how well the program works with sims. I think the program is using pictures on the web of real people so that's why it works well with sims that look a lot like real people like Hazel.
So much fun! I think Agnes was actually pretty spot on. And for Brent I think it read his beard as his face shape, which is why it got so much rounder. I'd love to see all of the different Rags to Riches protagonists run through this! I feel like with Chad and Trenton, you could see they had the same eyes even as AI versions, so comparing the Bigwallets in order from Lady Bigwallet and down would be so much fun to see how much they look like their parent (or even parentS if you were to also run their partner that they had the next gen with through this).
Bone Hilda looks like a fake ghost you see in one of those "We found a real ghost in this deserted asylum!" videos. I didn't expect this video to be much fun, so I avoided watching it for ages. Glad I gave it a chance. Thanks!
