    An important difference between the DR and the rest of Latin America is the lack of violent gangs sponsored by dr*g dealers; I never hear of kidnapping tourists in the DR, but I hear it all the time from other parts of Latin America. The organized criminal network in Central and South America is very scary to me.

    Thank you for your honest and unbiased views that have been informed by LIVED experiences. Another UA-camr seems to be more concerned with proving another prominent UA-camr (and native newlywed) wrong, than speaking the facts. Anyone who refutes your views or the young man’s views, I would wonder what their agenda is and whether they’ve spent an extended period of time in the country (off-resort).

    Maybe its because I live in Nyc, but I never heard that the DR was dangerous. I know many non Dominicans who own property down there, and others who visit 3 or more times a year

    I disagree with your statement that "gun violence is a serious problem in the United States". You mentioned that you normally get your information from a source, as it pertains to this your source appears to be the media. Violence is a problem in the United States, but as far as violence where a firearm is involved where is the United States ranked? Is there such a thing as knife violence, club violence, vehicle violence? However, "gun violence" pushed by the media exists. Now back to the topic at hand, the DR is awesome! With the cell phones I have heard and known people that it has happened to, but it is rear if you could wait to make a call or text once you're indoors. It doesn't happen often, but chances are greater of getting approached for questionable/illegal activities in the tourist areas, outside of the resorts. Jewelry, even at night in public areas, as long as you're not flashy, you should be good to go. I love this place.

      Are you serious? How do you explain all the mass shootings that happen?

    • @semperfi6512
      @semperfi6512 6 місяців тому

      @jgivesback I'm very serious. And to explain all of the mass shootings that are televised for an agenda, you would first have to look at what the reporting agency's definition of a mass shooting is. Most use 4 as the "magic number" which I might add includes gang violence in the inner cities, often by individuals that are not old enough to legally purchase the firearm in the first place. Then if you were so inclined to look up the information yourself and not rely on what the mainstream media tells you to believe, you would see that although the U.S. has the most firearms, they are not even in the top ten as far as violent crimes per 100,000 people. What the media doesn't tell or show you are the mass killings via knives or vehicles, but I guess vehicle violence and knife violence doesn't have a good ring to it. You are focusing on the tool used to commit the violence rather than the violence itself.

      @@semperfi6512 For you to say the loss of innocent lives is to push an agenda is sad. I dont pay attention to any main stream media because I know how toxic that is

    • @semperfi6512
      @semperfi6512 5 місяців тому

      @jgivesback for you who claim to back up his videos with data and facts, it's sad that you have provided neither and you are using all emotions. Any loss of life is sad. But ask yourself, why do you only hear about certain deaths and not others? You don't hear about the deaths of the inner city children of Chicago. Do your research like to claim to do, unless you prefer feelings over facts.
