Riding SANTIAGO's NEW Teleferico - DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 🇩🇴
Moved to NY at age 10, I’m now 64, and now moved back home to DR. We are very happy, we feel safe, and are amazed by the progress over the years! I give a lot of credit, at least most, to God’s place in our Dominican society and as long as we stay true to God we will continue to prosper. 👊💪🙏🇩🇴
Amen! Welcome back home 🇩🇴
klk, Being born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, I appreciate how this video highlights our culture and history. Such an insightful presentation! Looking forward to more content like this!
DR 🇩🇴 es la vuelta 😎
@@rancell9941 dilo duro!
They're very pro guns in the DR , which is fine by me....get the strap!!
@@TheHouseOfRonin I haven’t heard one person here in the years I’ve lived here talking about guns or their “rights”
@jgivesback that's cool. Im just telling you how it is. Open carry is a common thing in the DR. Gun laws there are lax
@@TheHouseOfRonin I’m not sure where you got that information from but it’s definitely not laxed
@jgivesback I'm half dominican. I got my 2nd citizenship through ancestry last year. I'm really bullish on the future of DR. First comment was a half joke for some humor. I thought i made it obvious, but perhaps not. My brother and i have been to multiple weddings in the DR and most of the time someone showed up cowboy style with a side piece. Pretty amusing to see. Is what it is, not really a big deal. I guess i shouldnt say gun laws are lax but its a straight forward process in getting one. I dig your channel but like your click bait -style title implies....there are dangerous areas in DR. Just like in all major cities in the US and through the carribean.
I’m proud of her

DR is the best country in the world 🌎
Yes it is 🇩🇴🇩🇴
Can’t wait to move there 🎉
Every country has the right to deport those who come irregularly. So, Latin America should do the same; this way it will send a message to other countries like USA Canada Europe who’s people visit and then want to take over. Some are good people who are trying to learn the language and culture and be part of it, but then you have many with a conquistador complex as we are inferior. In both situations there should be more regulations in place.
What’s going on Jonah! Great video and shoutout to you for all of your videos. Never been to DR but planning to visit for my 39th in March. Staying in the Santiago area. 2027, looking to move abroad, it’s time. New subscriber, love the content and the passion you have for DR.
Thanks for the support and sub! Where are you planning on visiting?
@ not too sure yet, it’s so many places to visit, lol. Any recommendations? It’ll be me and my girlfriend. I definitely want to eat and hit a few beaches.
Why don't you market your name? How are we going to know your mark? I only know you are a youtuber...nothing else...just an observation and a suggestion...do something about it. Thanks...?

I cant speak for other countries, but for D.R. I will never be thankful of people breaking the law and staying in my country illegally. For people in the comment section without a clue: Tourism is one of the mainstream of income in D.R. but it doesn't keep our country "afloat." 3 years of a covid pandemic was proof that Dominicans can sustain themselves without tourists. We had too much milk and potatoes and they were going bad. People come here because our country and our culture are beautiful and we have a lot to offer. They aren't doing us any favors. Dominicans only important about 20 percent of what we consume: That's the main reason why life is affordable in D.R. We love and have our own products and services, and we don't rely on imports. I don't want illegal immigrants from the richest country in the world bringing up the cost of living in my country, taking advantage of our privileges, and abusing our system. 🇩🇴 Send them all back! 💙🤍❤
Follow the rules or leave. On all sides.
Deport him 😂
Lol, He is spending USD. Keeping your country afloat. Be thankful.
So are the ones here in the US. Have not seen how immigrants spend here?

I live in Canada..the real estate market didn't crash because immigrants bring their life savings and buy property here. Most of the Canadians can barely afford rent... but I think it's easier to stereotype cuz you won't need to burn calories thinking :)
it's not a race thing, it's a money thing. simple
@@il42 explain please
@jgivesback if you have money, you stay, if you don't have money -this means you have to work ( presumably illegally), so you become labelled "illegal imigrant". No country is interested in kicking out someone who has money and spends it there.
@@il42so the undocumented workers who contributed over 92 BILLION DOLLARS in taxes in 2022 in the US should be allowed to stay correct?
@@jgivesback I am not advocating for or against, I just merely stated that this is not due to his race, but due to his social/financial standing.

Soooooo.....Rapid growth is supposed to be a selling point? The monorail will be great when Americans began riding with their 'OFF-LEASH' pets. 🙄
What??
Te estamos dando seguimiento. Soon relocating with my wife. Shes is american and totally in love with my country of origin...
So Santiago has a mall and Hilton , its like any other AMERICAN city, how sad.
If we didn’t have one you would probably say that there isn’t a mall or hotel lol
Life is wild. My mother is from Santiago. Came to the states about 45 years ago. She made me, i got my DR 2nd citizenship last year now im looking into investing in the DR perhaps in Santiago

Im glad you found this to be insightful

These videos make me miss home. Almost exactly three years ago, I was in Santo Domingo for 3 years during Covid. I'm glad I was there and not here in Canada. I had to come back to deal with family matters. Now I'm dying to go back. I hope I can make that happen before the end of this year. The older I get, the more I appreciate being with my people. Good Work Bro! New Sub!
Thank you for the words and sub!
We practice agressive medicine in D.R. You come to us with a health issue, we get it solved for you. Here in the states they give low doses of medicine to keep you coming back so that the doctors can bill the insurance companies for more money.
It’s a business in the states
This is an awesome video! Please make more showing the education and free healthcare in Santiago.
hiii i am dominican and sadly education and free healthcare are not that good, and in schools it depends alot of what school distric is but public schools like: politecnico las mercedes, ipisa ect are top tier but mostly of the schools here are private but they arent thatt expensive to be honest per month a good school can be like 300 to 500 dollars and free healthcare here its bad only private with a good insurance its good
Thank you
Hotel Matum has been there forever its a great hotel
That’s the one that had the casino right? It looks abandoned
That's good for me but what about the Dominicans living on $200 a month...if that? I just hope that the government with all of it's moves, the people get something out of it,,,
The GDP per capita was 10,716.01 USD 2023 and continues to grow. You can't compare it to the U.S.. 80 percent of what Dominicans eat comes from inside our country. We love our local products. I used to pay $156 a month rent for a studio apartment three years ago. my $350 a month job was good enough for me to maintain the same standard of living, I had in Canada. I would argue that I actually lived better in D.R. because of the food, the weather, the people and the culture. I used to drink one or two Presidentes almost daily. after 2 years of living in Villa Mella, I had over 10 friends from the neighbourhood. I only came back because I had to take care of family, but I can assure you, I can't wait to go back and stay in D.R. permanently.
What about Americans living on minimum wage with cost of living skyrocketing? It’s all the same anywhere in the world
How are you comoaring poverty in yhe US with Dom Republic?
Feel like you’re welcoming the same people our ancestors freed them selves from... lol
Why is that, where do you gather that from?
My only wish is to see all of DR like Santiago here, we would be respected on the global stage
We are taking the steps in the right direction
🪄 I believe DR will become a 1st world global powerhouse in the next 10 years
I wouldn’t doubt it
A very impressive city. Santiago is up and coming to to be the outshining star of the Dominican Republic
